Does not connect. IF it does, good luck changing chat and game sounds independently. Don't bother with their customer service - they just send you someone else's broken one until you're out of the return period.

Thanks for your feedback John. We're sorry to hear that you've had some sort of connectivity inconvenience with your headset.

With that being said, our dedicated Support Team would be happy to assist you with troubleshooting or replacement service. When it comes to replacement service, we would never provide you with a broken headset. You'd be provided with a new headset as we have stock of that model, or a certified refurbished headset of the same model (tested for full functionality and stability, covered for the remainder of your original headset's warranty) in the rare case that there is no new stock be available.

All in all, what you described does not sound like the normal customer service experience and we'd certainly suggest filling out a Support Form on our website for assistance.

In regard to Game/Chat audio; please know that independent game and chat volume controls would only be provided when the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox was being used on an Xbox console with the headset in Xbox mode.

When the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox's transmitter is in the USB Mode, and is being used with a PlayStation console, PC, or Nintendo Switch in docked mode, there is no way to assign the Lower Volume Dial to Chat Audio. This would also be applicable to the Stealth 700 GEN 2 for PlayStation, whether it's transmitter is in USB mode or PC mode.

NOTE: Please be aware that some games (ex. COD) will send their own in-game chat audio through the same path that they send their game audio through, which would result in your all audio being controlled by the Game Volume dial regardless of your Audio Hub settings. This would be a limitation of the game itself and not the headset.

NOTE2: When the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox's transmitter is placed in to USB mode, the headset's lower dial would default to controlling the volume level of the headset's Microphone. When the transmitter is in Xbox mode, the lower dial would default to controlling the volume of Chat Audio.

NOTE3: The Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for PlayStation's lower dial controls Microphone Monitoring right out of the box, regardless of the mode the the headset's transmitter is in.

All in all, there'd be no way to for your headset to provide you with independent game and chat controls on the PlayStation consoles. This is a result of the limitations related to the way those platforms process the audio via USB, and is not related to the headset itself.

However, if you own a Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox you should be able to adjust Xbox Party Chat independently via the dials on the headset when using it on an Xbox. If you are having difficulty with your dials working properly for game and chat audio on an Xbox when using the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox; please let our Support Team know. They'd be happy to assist with troubleshooting this or assist in providing a replacement under warranty if the headset is determined to be at fault. TurtleBeach

First thing I noticed was the build quality. It is very solidly built with metal reinforcements where it matters. A lot of headsets break around the headband area due to being over stretched or sat on. And Turtle beach knows this and addressed that common build issue which is awesome. You can have the best sounding headset in the world, but if you cant keep it on your head because it breaks then its all kind of pointless. So kudos for making sure the headset is solid. In the box you of course get the Stealth Gen 2 MAX headset, USB adapter, USB cable, a decal, and some paperwork. After the initial charge setup was pretty simple. Its basically plug and play which is great. Although there is an app that allows you to change settings if you want to get in and configure things the way you want. Once set up I was gaming easily on my ONE X, and my PS5. Both were simple to get up and going. One of the standout features here is the insanely long battery life. It claims up to 40 hours and in my experience I see this as pretty close to accurate. Even after hours of playing it barely dented the amount left. I got used to headsets that lasted a few hours at most requiring 2 separate batteries, or even 2 separate headsets. I use to be charging one, while using the other. No more of that silliness here. And with the built in voice that keeps you updated on your life left I never ran into a situation where I was rushing to plug it in somewhere to charge. Chatting was very nice as well. I was able to not only hear others well, but they said I was crisp and clear also. And with the app your can adjust settings for chat vs sound settings as well. So if you prefer the games sound being a bit higher, or vice versa you want to hear your team mates call outs instead this can all be done easily as you play. And of course there is the sound. I was able to not only hear excellent quality audio, but pin point locations, footsteps, and other key sounds to locate what I needed to. The 50mm nanoclear speakers pack a punch, and its the punch I like. When I was a bit younger I liked the really low boom of things like car speakers. But now I prefer much more accurate and tight bass. And these deliver that perfectly. The highs, mids, and lows are all well put together and of course can be tuned to your preference in the app. So in addition to gaming I will be using these in my PS5's video streaming apps as well to get some amazing headset audio for movies too. So overall I am pretty stoked to find some new cans for gaming. Great build quality, insane battery life, app tunability, accurate game sounds, and overall amazing audio come together in an affordable headset. If you are looking for a gaming headset for your new XBOX or PS5 look no further.

The audio cuts out and generates static every 5 minutes or so, it refuses to pair with the xbox until i power cycling up to 5 times, and the build quality went down from the previous gen. Feels cheap and plastic and I have zero confidence it would last more than 6 months as it creaks and makes noise every time you move them. Beyond that, the biggest gripe, is I'm an audiophile, and these have HORRIBLE sound even compared to the 3M Worktunes ear protection I wear at work. I spent 2 days playing with every audio setting and the sound quality only improved minimally. Truly disappointed.

    Best All Purpose Gaming Headset

Setup: This was pretty simple. Just take out the headphones, Charge them with the included USBC cable. Then either use the USB dongle or pair the Bluetooth. Finally wear and enjoy. Then power them on. I think this headset is unique in that it works with all gaming platforms including the Nintendo Switch. This headset is one of few good wireless sets that works with the Switch. At first the headset would not work at all on my Switch, but after realizing there is a switch on the side of the USB dongle to toggle between Xbox ad USB they worked right away. The earpieces are very comfortable, but they did get hot after wearing them for a while. The sound seems very low on the switch. I didn’t have this problem when using them on my PC. I wasn’t able to find a way to adjust them louder on the Switch. The folding microphone is amazing. You don’t realize how much you need this feature until you have it. What is cool is you can mute the mic by lifting it up which is really handy. Also the Mic seats into the headphones so if your not using that feature they just hide away. The headband is extremely comfortable and sturdy. I like that because others can be low on support or harder when resting for longer times. Battery life is hard to say. It says they last 40 hours. I don’t have 40 hours in a weeks’ time to tell if that’s accurate. In any event I was not worried about battery life or had to recharge them. They do offer quick charge which is nice because I always seem to forget to charge them and now I can charge enough just to get thru a few matches with little notice. I do like the Blue with Copper accents since they add a unique premium look. Switch performance: They were a little low on volume but once you slide the switch on the dongle to usb then your set. They worked well with the dock. Also, I was able to pair them with the Switch in handheld mode. This was much better for volume as it sounded more normal. I am not sure if there is something I was doing wrong with the dock, but the volume was low. This could have been from the Active Noise Cancelling. Xbox performance: They paired great with the dongle and sounded excellent. The people in my chat said they heard me loud and clear. Again, no issues or delays. The Active Noise Cancelling worked great. I could hear footsteps from all directions in a few matches of Fortnite. This made the game more realistic and easier to hear impending enemies. On Forza 5 I could hear the car really rev thru the gears like in a real car. The sound was incredibly full. The 50mm Drivers are nice and large. You can really hear it. PC Performance: These paired well with my Bluetooth and worked great when gaming on PC. Excellent sound quality and not connection issues. I did use them for a few Teams meetings and the quality was better than my work headset and I was not worried about the battery life. Music Performance: I listened to Pandora while working and the sound was full of great bass response. I am actually going to use these now for work/gaming since I like the sound. Also, the Blue color is really nice. I feel like there should be more Navy colored headsets out there. Mobile Performance: Since they are Bluetooth they sounded very good on my phone when playing mobile games and watching you tube while on my lunch break. These are my new favorite headphones since they cover so many uses on so many platforms. Glasses compatibility: I wear Gunnar Gaming glasses, and these still fit very comfortably without getting in the way. Me of my other headsets pinch them into my head but these have room for them without getting in the way. Charging: I like that this uses standard usbc charging which is just another cable I already own not something like the old micro USB cables others provide. Beach Audio Hub App: I downloaded the app but like most headphones. First thing I did was make sure my firmware was up to date. It is nice to see that is the direction they are going. In the past you had to connect to a computer with the supplied cable. As far as other features. I did not really see much benefit in customizing the sound profile. I like that you can remap the dial and button on the headset which is cool, but I do not foresee using it a lot since they are small and hard to find without looking at them. Being able to see the battery life is nice but you can see that generally on your mobile device anyway. Pros: Build Quality Battery Life Color Excellent Microphone the folds to mute Very comfortable Works with all platforms Cons: Headset is a little heavy Can get warm for long gaming sessions Audio when connected to Switch Dock was low. I like that these work with all these platforms: Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, PS5, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS4 Slim, Nintendo Switch Dock, PC & Mac, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch Handheld, & other Bluetooth® Equipped Devices Value: I think for all the ways you can use these they are more than worth the money. I cannot think of anything I could ask out of the product other than better Switch Dock performance. I wish they came with a case and charging block. This would be a more complete package. I cannot say the nano speakers offer any additional benefits or just marketing jargon, but I can say these have more directional surround sound than any headset before it. For $199 these are a steal since they cover all the devices you can connect so to me a no brainer.

The ear cuffs are very comfortable and the pinch is just right for me. The sound quality is great for gaming or music - did do minor tweak on the app - wish that the software would work on PC. Con: do not get much travel distance from the PC, only about 15 feet then starts breaking up.

    Powerful sound, poor USB dongle

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is the latest model boasting multiplatform functionality via USB dongle. They do not connect to the Xbox family of consoles on their own. Instead, there is a switch on the dongle for Xbox mode. Turning off Xbox mode allows for use on PS5 and PC. While the sound is powerful and punchy, the dongle feels flimsy. Plugging it into a rear USB port on my Xbox Series X resulted in frequent crackling and cut outs, so i had to plug it in a Front por where i could easily see the flashing red light on teh dongle. Range was poor, and the headset is heacy amd bulky with strong clamping force that felt uncomfortable. Using it on PC i quickly discovered none of the sound profiles were available with the headset button. A nice idea with poor execution.

Great headset, long lasting batter life, love the versatility of connections, awsome that I can connect to my phone and Xbox Series S at the same time, answer calls without swapping, just pause my game/movie and flip down the mic and talk. Good surround sound, pretty good 3D sound/Immersive sound. It was difficult having to update the firmware when I received the headset, because I don’t have a desktop or laptop, so I had to find one to connect to to update the firmware. If you only have an Xbox or Game console you won’t be able to update the headset and receiver, unless you can get to a laptop or desktop to connect to, and make sure that the computer has 2 usb connections available because the receiver and headset need to connected at the same time to update. And I also thought the headset would have had a louder volume, especially for the price. But still great despite those previous drawbacks. Still the best headset I’ve found for around $200

First off- the fit and finish on these are amazing; I went with cobalt blue and gold. The small touches of gold in the head band and around the foam ear pads is stunning. The matte finish on the cobalt blue pairs very well. The bluetooth connection is seamless. Setup was a breeze! I turned them on after plugging the usb transmitter in and selecting Xbox, immediately the headset was connected. Connecting to my phone was equally as simple and seamless. Already having the Turtle Beach app installed from my previously owned Gen1 700's, setup and customization for Super human hearing, EQ settings etc. Was super easy. The geatest feature in my opinion is the added mode button to switch between normal and super human hearing. This is a feature I felt my previous Turltle Beaches were lacking. Sound quality during game is superb; I am now hearing things in games I was not able to hear before. I feel this has greatly improved my game play. Another great feature for gamers with glasses is a channel that can be opened up to make room for glasses ear pieces. Another great added feature is cooling memory foam ear pads, so no more sweaty ears during long periods of game play. Battery life has been greatly improved as well, up to 40 hrs. I have around 10+ hrs and havent had to charge them yet. All in all these are a vast improvement over the first generation steath 700's I own. The sound quality, crisp clean mic audio and overall quality and comfort. Turtle Beach knocked it out of the park with these. So if youre in the market for wireless headphones youll definitely want to check these out.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX Wireless gaming headset checks every single box for me! I have worn these for several multi-hour gaming sessions and I am super impressed with them in so many ways! Comfort: My ears have next to zero fatigue, and the material on the ear cups is super breathable. No overheating worries with these! Style: The all black design is sleek and understated, which is exactly what I look for in a gaming headset. Features: This is where this set really shines in my opinion! It works on every platform, so no need to have multiple headsets to fill your needs on different platforms you might game on. It also has bluetooth which is great for streaming music from my iPhone while playing some of my favorite games. And finally my favorite feature, flip to mute mic! This is a must-have for me on any headset and I am very happy it is included on this model. Sound Quality: Of course nothing else matters if the sound quality is not there, and the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max delivers! Music sounds great, and gaming performance is next level! I also love the sound of opponent footsteps with this headset. Overall this is an amazing value at it's price and is a great multi-function gaming headset for any platform!

This generation of Stealth Max is a great buy if you are into gaming or in need of a headset that will solve multiple purpose and be compatible across a range of consoles as well. Design and Color: 5 stars Audio: 5 stars. This sounds amazing and the Atmos is wonderful. The surround experience is wonderful. The entire sound experience is soothing and the superhuman hearing etc. are features that may help but honestly I have not had the need to tinker with it too much. I cannot say anything harsh about the set when it comes to sound reproduction. It uses 50 mm speakers. NO LAG. Microphone: 5 stars. Flip it up and it is on and flip it down and it is off. Use with Glasses: 4 stars. This is better than most but after a few hours you still feel the pinch a bit but it can be much worse as we all know. Weight: 4 stars. It is lightweight and with everything it has I may be a bit harsh here but am honest for the sake of this review. Transmitter: 5 stars. I did not get the chance to play with this aspect too much but did not experience any hindrances at all. Bluetooth: 3 stars. For some reason, the blue-tooth experience has been a bit jittery once you cross the 20 feet mark, which is worse performance-wise than some of the other sets I have used. Overall, though it is not flawless but at this price point, this is indeed a best buy. When not playing, use it as a music or podcast device when you are mowing outside. I will try it in the snow as well and see if it survives that but please don't take that chance yourself. A true all-rounder of a headset. Highly recommended.

Terrible, cannot seem to correct it, keeps making a popping sound when people start to chat in the Party, will probably turn this one in and try one more, Really think they messed up when made a head phone compatible with all Systems, the other Head Phone I had bought worked great but it crashed on me...

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      Hey there JessA,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience; however, please allow our Support Team to assist you with your Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX as what you described here sounds like symptoms of RF interference from a congested wireless environment and our Support Team would be happy to assist you in getting that cleared up. We’re always happy to help, and we can be reached right from the support section of the Turtle Beach website as needed.

      Have a great day! TurtleBeach
