I did a lot of research and comparing & contrasting before selecting this headset for my Xbox One. I am very happy with my selection. This unit connects immediately with the Xbox One after turning it on. With the bluetooth feature, it also connects automatically with my iPhone and MacBook Pro and will stream any audio from both. This is a great feature, because with the noise cancelling of the headset, I cannot even hear my phone ring when it is sitting next to me...so the bluetooth allows me to monitor for incoming calls while I am playing my Xbox. So when a call comes in, it will ring in my headset and I can answer the call directly from the headset. When I do this, it switches the audio from the gameplay over to the phone call seamlessly. When I hang up (either from the headset or the phone), the audio instantly goes back to the gameplay and game chat. The audio quality is great and easily adjustable between gameplay audio and game chat audio levels. I use it frequently over bluetooth for music while I am working and seemlessly take hands-free business calls with it. It holds its own for music quality compared to my Bose QuietComfort 15 headset. I love that you can mute your mic by just swinging the mic up and back. The mic is solid and not flimsy. The mic does a really good job of filtering out most of the background noise in the room. We have noticed that when there is a lot of ambient noise in the room, the volume of my voice in the chat is noticeably quieter for everyone else...but better than flooding the chat with distracting noises. The battery on my unit lasts hours longer than the rated 10 hours, even with my bluetooth and mic on. The smartphone app that connects to the headset is great. You can change settings on the fly from your phone. Three downsides to this unit.... First, it feels a bit tight on the noggin', especially compared to my Bose QuietComfort headset that I was using before this one. I don't have a big head, so it doesn't bother me much, even during marathon 10+ hour gaming sessions. My son had purchased this same model 3 - 4 months before me and his head is a bit larger than mine, so he complains that using it for long periods can give him a bit of a headache if he doesn't take it off for a break here and there because of how tight it is squeezing his melon. Mine is easing up already after about a month of usage, so as long as you don't have a really large head, this shouldn't be an issue for most people. Secondly, the unit has three rubberized buttons on the side (power, bluetooth, and noise cancelling). When the unit is on your head, I am still having a hard time knowing which button I am pressing without taking the unit off my head. Each button has a raised symbol on it, but they are hard to feel a difference between, so the best method I have come up with is starting at the back button and sliding my finger forward feeling for the raised symbols. Far back is power, middle is bluetooth (and answering / hangin up on phone calls and other controls), and front most is the noise cancelling. The good thing is that most of the features are controllable in the smartphone app anyways. Thirdly, my son's unit is already showing wear on the ear pad material after just 3 - 4 months. He also burns through Bose ear pads way faster than I do...so if you are a bit more oily than most, the oil from your head/hair does seem to break down the ear pad material fairly quick. These pads are replaceable from the Turtle website for just $3.95 per ear cushion (look up Bose original replacement pads and you will see this is an amazing deal, even if you go through a pair or two a year). As I was writing this, I just discovered a new, cool feature on this unit that I don' remember read about in the manual. When you turn on the headset, it automatically turns on your Xbox for you (same as a controller does). The build quality of this model is great, definitely not a flimsy unit....if you take care of it and don't throw it around, it should last for a long time. With the Geek Squad 3 year coverage, which is quite affordable for this unit, you should be set for a really long time. I wonder if they would cover the ear pads wearing out? I would definitely go with this unit, even over the Elite 800X model which I also looked at. The 800 uses the same 50mm Neodymium Magnets with the same frequency range as the 700, but does not have the native Xbox direct connection like the 700 does. Hope this Help!

Hello everyone, I purchased this headset at BestBuy for an easier and faster return/exchange if needed, not on amazon, but wanted to leave an honest review here. I was deciding between this Stealth 700, Stealth 600 and Platronics Rig 800LX. Stealth 700 has noise cancelling mic and only 10 hours of continuous play. direct connect to X1 Stealth 800 the only advantage 15 hours of play. direct connect to X1 Rig 800 has 24 hours, noise cancelling, BULKY and NOT a direct connect. At the end i was considering Rig 800 and Stealth 700 due to noise cancelling. The reason why i went with Stealth 700 as first model were: 1) Direct connect to X1 2) NOT as bulky as Rig 800 3) Bluetooth that you can connect to your phone and listen to music or talk. Basically this headset so far (1 day old) is AMAZING! I read and read and read alot of comments and people complaining about how this headset is not comfortable, too quiet or the mic is horrible. Well LUCKILY i experienced NONE of those issues. I did update the headset to the latest firmware BEFORE i even turned them ON! Charged them to full battery and updated right away. Immediately i notice how nice they sound and for people who are saying they are too quiet.. HOW? I mean I'm sure some are getting bad pairs, but how the heck is this headset too quiet when I set my volume probably at 50% and it's LOUD.. Like on full volume it's not exactly comfortable as the sound is just too much, so 50 it is. My only real concern that I have and again this could be purely because the audio in a game is directional is that few times it seemed as left side was slightly louder than right side..most people may not even notice this, but this could be due to what i was doing in the game. When I test some music from my phone the sound was pretty much equal and nothing to complain 1-2% difference could be due to hearing or who knows.. I purchased 2 year replacement warranty for $20 so if they break in a year, who cares I get a new pair. Microphone clarity: I checked with people in the game and asked them to report the audio clarity.. No one complained that they could not hear me. Noise-Cancellation, I have not had a chance to test it. Comfort: Ear cups are soft, foam may have been a little more comfortable, but padded leather will work and is easier to clean so no big deal. Another note to consider is that these are not bulky at all. Build quality: Now this is something i was worried about, because the store model that i held in my hands felt loose and cheap. Which is somewhat to be expected since store display models get abused by 1000 weirdos. When i opened my own set, i was impressed the how everything was tight and just felt good holding in my hands. Conclusion: Give this a try, but make sure to fully charge and update to latest firmware prior to using.

Hello all, If I didn’t want my money back I would have given this gaming headset to my dogs as a toy. But that’s besides the point. I’m not one to write reviews however I hope that by me writing this review I can help someone avoid a bad decision like I did. I receiving the Turtle beach Stealth 700 as a gift it’s what I asked for from my wife. Excited to plug it in and play. Soon to find out how disappointed I was. The only thing this thing has going for it would be its wireless direct connect to the Xbox.. and the dual Bluetooth to hook up to your phone to answer calls. Which is pretty cool I have to admit. And if that’s ALL you look for in a gaming headset then you have found yourself a winner.. HOWEVER for myself that was not it. You see I play a lot of FPS games and like my in game volume loud. Now I don’t need my ears bleeding but I like it loud enough. This headset can NOT deliver that. I updated the latest software from my pc, played with multiple settings tried turning up the volume via the Xbox settings on the tv, tried turning up the volume on the headset.. BOTH THE CHAT COLUME AND THE IN GAME VOLUME.. I tried literally EVERYTHING feeling defeated I went online and researched for hours only to find out that this headphone has several complaints about the in game volume and there is no fix for this... I am not deaf... and when my wife is sitting 20ft from me and saying my name with a normal tone and I can hear her and hold a conversation with her.. even though I have the NOISE CANCELATION OPTION ON!!! Something is wrong very wrong... when I’m playing video games I like to be fully emerged into my games especially games like COD blackout where being able to pinpoint locations of enemies by footsteps is crucial. Don’t get me wrong... I could do that with this headset as long as I was in a quiet room with nobody talking. That’s not all however, oh no I wish it was i sit very close to my Xbox no matter what setting I set the EQ at randomly grenades would go off or bass would hit in the music and I would hear distortion of the sound kinda like Blahrrrr it’s hard to explain exactly what the sound is was however it would happen frequently maybe once every 10-15 minutes. And also let’s not forget the disconnects. This headset disconnects frequently my router is 10ft from my Xbox so it’s not that. Luckily the disconnects aren’t longer than only MAYBE a second. However in a battle royal game where listening is so crucial 1 second is all you need to die. I wanted to like this affordable wireless gaming headset so bad. I’m giving this headset a 2 out of 5 stars due to the sound quality issues. For me the disconnects, weird noises, and in game volume not being loud enough is not enough to have made keep it. I since then returned it and got myself a pair of Hyper X cloud Alphas and they are perfect!!! I highly recommend. Even though they are wired they have premium sound including bass, highs, mids, lows, and also the in game sound! I can no longer hear someone 20ft away talking to me when I’m gaming. premium feel, extremely comfortable, And cheaper! The hyper X Cloud Alpha is a steal for the price Do not fall succumb to Turtle beach below average quality of gaming headsets they are literally taking money from people and releasing donkey poop for consumers. Wayyy better brands to choose from. Including HyperX you will not be disappointed as I was with this garbage called gaming headphones.

    Excellent Headphones for Gaming!

A gaming headset for the Xbox One usually has the same problems: a significant amount of cords, transmitters, and irritating popping noises. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 presents an effective solution that solves these frustrating issues along with numerous bonus luxury features. Performance The Stealth 700 headphones provide impeccable surround sound, active noise cancellation, and superhuman hearing mode to make the Xbox gaming experience better and more immersive than ever before. The surround sound that the headset provides has allowed me to become part of every game’s environment, unlocking a breathtaking new perspective. If that isn’t enough, the noise cancellation and the superhuman hearing mode allow for complete concentration on even the smallest of sounds in the game. This headset literally is a game changer! Comfort Comfort can be one of the most important factors for many gamers looking for a new gaming headset, as many gamers are going to be wearing them for long intervals of time. Overall, the Stealth 700 headset is comfortable and can be worn for hours on end without discomfort. A unique feature that I personally enjoy the most is the dual foam ear cushions. With this feature, there is soft foam in the area of the ear cushion that a pair of glasses would make contact with. As a person with glasses, I can usually not wear headphones for too long because of the stress it puts on my head. I can say, without doubt, that I have never felt more comfortable with a pair of headphones on than I do with my stealth 700 headphones. Convenience Not only does the headset connect wirelessly to the Xbox gaming console, but it can also connect simultaneously to a Bluetooth device. I most commonly use my smartphone to listen to music while playing a game that does not require much sound, such as racing games. Furthermore, with the Stealth 700 headphones I have never missed a call while gaming because the headset has alerted me when I have had an incoming call. Cost Effectiveness The headset costs about $150 which, considering all of its features and quality, is not too high of a price to pay for a high-end gaming headset. There are definitely cheaper options on the market, such as the Stealth 600 headset ($80) or Xbox One Stereo headset ($60), but the quality and number of features with those would just not be on the same level as the Stealth 700 headset. Ideal User The Stealth 700 headset is a product that is specifically made for serious Xbox gamers who would like to take their gaming skills to the next level. If this description fits you, then these headphones are definitely worth the purchase. You will not be disappointed!

Realest Review from a Fortnite Player

I started playing Fortnite a month ago. I first bought Afterglow 3s....then returned and bought 30 dollar TB(cant remember name) I then returned and bought xo three which is a cool little headset but i knew i needed something better. I returned and bout xo 4s which is basically the same as three. I then bout Stealth 600 which was a ok headset. All the headsets let me hear footsteps but the 600s let me know exactly where someone was. Example: On Fortnite if im in Titled in Umbrella building on middle floor. I knew if someone was upstairs or downstairs. The other headsets let me hear someone on a different floor but i never knew if they were up or down. Although the 600s was ok , i knew i needed a headset with better sound. It was gonna be either the Razer ManOWar headset or the Stealth 700s. I decided last minute to go with these. I am so glad i did. First thing i did was update firmware(very important). The sound is rich and the fact that i can connect with my Mac computer to listen to music blew me away!!!!! I listen to the music on a low level and can still talk on mic and hear footsteps!!!! Some say you cant charge and play at the same time but thats a lie!!! TB doesn't provide a long micro usb but if u pick one up you can def charge and play at the same time. I was buying and returning headsets all month but i knew right away that i wasnt taking these back at all! I will update my review in 6 months- a year if i can but i love these. With a protection plan from best buy im even more confident in my purchase. Only con i ran accross is my Iphone 6+ not letting me pair with the headset. But that might be because i dont update my ios lol. Im fine with it being connected to my mac mini.

Amazing wireless headset for Xbox One!

I've got both a PS4 and an Xbox One. I've always longed for a headset that stood alongside the Playstation Gold headset in terms of battery life, sound quality, and overall ease of connection and use. The gold headset has a simple USB dongle, turn on, and you're good to go with some great sound and voice quality. Everything I've owned on Xbox has been wired to the controller, and even had iffy connections because of those wires. Everything wireless I found required extra pieces and plug ins that I'm sure weren't too difficult to figure out, but I just wanted to power and go. Then comes along a sale on this headset. It wasn't anything revolutionary, just $20 off but enough to grab my eye. I realized it was the only headset that uses the actual wireless technology of the Xbox and that alone is worth the full cost. This thing connects like a controller, and even turns off when your system turns off (a huge battery saver as I'll sometimes forget). I did read reviews stating the importance of updating the headset on your computer, and did so immediately so I can't speak for quality without that update. However, a huge sticker on the box reminds you and the software is super easy to download and use. After that, I've got some amazing sound quality and my friends say I sound great! Best of all, I'm connected and talking in seconds vs plugging into all the ports, connecting pieces, etc. (first world problem, I know). With that said, if you're not looking for the most top notch $300+ headset with the best sound quality in the world, but one with good sound quality, ease of use, and some great battery life for a mid-range price (100-150), I can't recommend this headset enough.

I just purchased this headset as my first for my xbox one. I've never had one but I consider myself an audiophile so I'm a pretty tough judge. I did my research and watched plenty of reviews. my ulitmate decision was between this set, the SteelSeries Arctis 5, and I wanted to try on the budget friendly Plantronics 400hx. The plantronics was the cheapest feeling headset/set of headphones I've ever picked up. I didnt even test out the sound because they felt so cheap. And the adjustments on the sides were the oddest set up I've ever seen. It has notches. They were the least expensive set I was considering. The SteelSeries was not available at my bestbuy so I tested out the Turtle beach 600 and 700 series. I did not want to spend more than $100. The 600 did not have any leather element to it, which I feel is important to get a good rich sound. So I went with the 700 and I have not been disappointed yet. Pros- Sound quality is impeccable. I mostly play first person shooter games and I hear every blade of grass moving. Customization- there is an app that needs to be downloaded to adjust all of your specific sound settings. There are also two volume wheels on the left earpiece, one for chat and one for game sound. Weight- super light weight on my head. does not weigh down my ears. Price-for the price i feel like it is definiely a good deal. I got them on sale for $120, $30 less than their regular price. Though I still think they are a great deal at $150 Bluetooth or Wired- has the option to do both. connects very quickly just like a controller. Microphone- not awkwardly long. to mute, just flip the piece back. Cons- Head piece- the band that goes over my head was beginning to make the top of my head sore after about 2 hours of gaming. It might just need to be broken in a bit. So far this is the only con. will update if i find anything else. I did see some poor feedback when they first came out, but it seems that Turtle Beach has fixed those bugs with their updates. Great buy!!

This headset is getting underrated scores due to timing. I’m a 35 year old gamer and have loved spending extra time playing with friends. Let me point out that I’m in no way into competitive (hardcore/professional) gaming and I can’t speak for PlayStation. It is a new headset and with most new tech, can be upgraded and/or fixed with firmware updates. I’ve searched for a year for a good pair of “cans” and finally settled on this. At first, I thought what most people think, “you get what you pay for” so I bought a pair of elite 800x. Terrible idea!! While there was absolutely nothing wrong with the sound quality (I loved it btw) it was like having a vice grip on your head. Omg was it bad!!! 8 months later and I found out about these. It was love at first play. Granted, I didn’t run into the issues that most had when these were first released, but most if not all of them have been fixed with the updates. Honestly, I don’t need “cans!” I have a wonderful surround sound and I got them just because. Sound is tight and everything about them is nice, even build quality and comfort. Mix these bad boys up with the new sonic “spatial” surround on Xbox and I have to say that it’s 100% worth every penny. I would have probably given this a 4 maybe 4.5, but I firmly believe that they got “choked” by the people that got them early on and didn’t give turtlebeach enough time to recalliberate. It is worth it and will give you the extra edge that your looking for.

The features of this headset are great for the money, but their are several flaws that I have not been able to resolve with tech support. First of all the need for tech support drops this review one star right off the bat. It loses another star for the other issues. It is adjusted by the apps which are available on PC, Android and IOS. That would be fine except that the apps can rarely connect to the headset. It is really hit and miss. So why do I need to use the apps? That is how you adjust the mic monitor (how loud your own voice is in the headphones). That is the main reason I have had to use it I think. I wish there was a setting for adjusting the loudness of the headphones and the mic levels. This is a huge missing feature if you ask me. I have problems with the mic picking up too much at times and volume issues with BT connected devices. Yes, you can use the headset as a normal non-gaming noise-cancelling headset as you commute on the train or whatever. But if you have an iOS devise it will likely be too loud. If you have an Android device it will be too quiet. So it really would be great if I could adjust those levels. But the ability to connect these headphones wirelessly to the Xbox (and without a dongle/adapter) and simultaneously to a BT device is the way it should be. The volume dials are a bit lacking but get the job done. I appreciate that the are not push button but rather analog dials. All in all I was hoping for more from a headset at this price range and I am tempted to take another star off. This is the second time I have been disappointed by TB so I think I will give some Astros a chance next time.

Speaking from the point-of-view of said mom/spouse! I work at my computer which happens to be within swinging distance of the TV and gaming system. Best Buy offered for me to test out the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 for Xbox One and I couldn't say yes fast enough. With a spouse and a daughter who are obsessed with Overwatch, I regularly have to ask them to turn down the volume while I'm working (or trying to think straight). The Stealth 700 for Xbox One not only provides the gamer with incredible surround sound (you can hear the directional footsteps of opponents as well as sounds nearby - or faint in the distance. In addition, this headset features Active Noise Cancellation thus blocking outside distractions. The audio controls are customizable and the mic turns off when flipped away from the mouth, something not standard in all headsets! (That's a big deal when you're trying to multi-task playing the game and mitigating roommates/family conversations.) As a bonus, it fits comfortably over glasses! It's a high-quality headset with multiple features and is comfortable for extended wear... and perfect for minimizing mom/spouse aggro.

    Excellent after Firmware Update

I tried these and the Astro A20 side by side for a week. Both have excellent sound but what sold me on these TBs was the built-in wireless connection specifically for xbox (aka no adapter needed), bluetooth, and comfort. I prefer the leather ear pads to the foam on the A20s (which was a bit itchy to me). My tv is roughly 12 feet from my chair so using a wired connection to the tv or the controller is just a hassle. I prefer wireless. The range on these is amazing to me and definitely improved after a firmware update. I previously used the TB 420x+ which had great range too but this set is better. I can go up to my 2nd floor with these on and stay connected. PROS: - separate volume controls for game sound and chat. - no adapter - connects wirelessly to the xbox like your controller does - flip-up mic mute (simply flip the mic up to mute game chat) - bluetooth - absolutely fantastic sound (especially when enabling Dolby Atmos on the xbox) CONS: - the leather on the ear pads isn't perforated so it doesn't breathe well (meaning your ears will get a little sweaty) - TB has taken the preset audio modes out of the buttons and forced the user to change them via a setting in the software you use to update the firmware. I am not a fan of this approach. The 420X+ had the ability to cycle through these modes by simply pressing a button. - rubberized buttons feel cheap on the headset and are difficult to locate at times

I have used them for 2 weeks now and while they are cool and the bluetooth feature is great it doesn't make up for the lack of comfort. I am a YouTuber, twitch streamer, and gamer so i wear these A LONG TIME! for a short gaming session they're fine but anything over 2 hours i'd recommend Hyperx They're only 80 dollars for a great set and they're extremely comfortable by comparison. For me comfort is a huge factor because of the amount of time I wear them a day (9 or so hours) I will be returning mine. HOWEVER, if you're a casual gamer who wants high end here's your fit. but for long sessions I don't recommend. Pros- wireless bluetooth noise reduction (its good but not much different then other headphones I've used in the past) cons- Comfort, like i said, its not super comfortable in general and after a few hours it starts to get REALLY unbearable. Instruction, the instructions and the app aren't super helpful-pful and miss some important parts. Battery, no real heads up its low. it will say "battery low" then die immediately.

Got this one as replacement for a faulty Plantronics RIG 800LX, which got raved reviews and so hyped. However, the RIG did not work well in my complicated RF/WIFI situation which I had to put my xbox by the side of router. It caused terrible drops which rendered the headset useless in my case. Plus the hyped Dolby Atmos is not exclusive to the headset, it is a software that you can buy and used in any headset. OK, back to this one, first of all, it is REAL wireless for xbox one using their encrypted bluetooth called xbox wireless. It uses BT protocol instead of the wifi or other RF bands, so in my case not experiencing interferences or drops like the Plantronics (using wifi transmition via a dongle you need to plug into xbox). It connects like your xbox wireless controller, so no dongle needed, also can be used to power on your xbox. It connects to your laptop or smartphone/tablet via a separate BT chip (you actually see two bt macs for this one devices when you trying to connect to smartphone, use the one with headset symbols) like a regular BT headset. The noise cancelling is a joke, but other than that ,I think sound quality is good. This definitely is better than 3.9/5 rating shown here. A lot of the bad reviews came from early buyers who got all sorts of problems, and ended up returning the device (no follow up or update). I think their effort to make it work (and it did improve) is worth praising.

So for the roughly three weeks that I had the Turtle Beach 700 stealth headphones I wore them maybe a dozen times the issue was I couldn't wear them longer then 20 minutes to a half hour at a time. The sound quality is very good for the price, it's not a true surround sound like Dolby Digital but it is very good for the price and has great sounding high and lows, not great bass though and has a great app that you could customize the main issue is this headphones can press your head and burn your ears ,they get hot and make your head feel squished and I have a large head , so even people with small heads that I've let try them on said that they're not to comfortable . That's the ultimate reason why I took them back. For someone who has a very small to small head I think that'd be great, like i said the sound quality is very good and has the supersonic hearing and it's on app to customize how you want to hear things and it sinks to your Xbox easily but the quality of the comfortability is not great.

Picked these up and updated the firmware immediately on them as suggested. I will be returning these as they do not meet my standards. Pros 1) Truly wireless with the Xbox One, was able to quickly sync them and was ready to go. The settings within the xbox are simple 2) While remembering what all the buttons do is tricky, the bluetooth app itself makes this easy. Its a bit gimmicky but works well. 3) I wore these for 3 hours with glasses and didn't have any comfort issues. 4) Automatically turn off when you turn off your xbox. That just a nice feature so you dont forget and run your battery down. 5) No issues with mic, everyone could hear me fine, the lift to mute worked great. Cons 1) The audio isn't that great, any setting with base boost will cut out when the drivers try and push the base. They were not useable with any base setting. This was enough for me to return them itself. 2) Bulky plastic feel, holding them feels like you are holding a much cheaper set of headphones. While I dont think they are going to break they just dont feel as nice as other $150 headphones 3) Active noise canceling works ish 4) After three hours of use, xbox showed they only had 1/2 battery life left. 5) I had a bit of an eco, when I spoke I could hear myself through the speakers. Playing with the settings i was able to get it soft but never gone.

I've had Turtle Beach in the past some work good and some don't it's a bit of luck really.. but the product is great when it works. Although I would recommend it. I do have to say keep in mind it is a Bluetooth headset and they are known to have problems. These problems include failure to boot up properly and when in group chat services other may hear you sound robotic.. But other then that the product is pretty awesome it can connect to multiple Bluetooth devices at once. I have it connected to my PC and my Xbox One at the same time and I can chat on Xbox One while listening to a Video on the PC with no cables pretty awesome! It has a separate voice and chat toggle which is ideal compared to the single slider on the most recent generations of these headsets. But yeah.. just remember it's not perfect and in fact i'm having power issues after only 5-6 months and the robotic voice was there since day one. But i love the headsets features so i've dealt with these issues.

You must update to the latest firmware: ***NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE AVAILABLE - VERSION 2.1.1 - SEPT. 13, 2017*** This seems to have corrected the issues I had out of the box: 1. Audio/bluetooth disconnecting 2. Xbox audio cutting out, microphone intermittent drops. I did not experience "buzzing" as others have mentioned, so I don't know if that has been corrected. They are not as comfortable as my Elite Plus Tournament headphones, and while the sound is good, it's not up to the same standard as the Elite Plus. What I love about these is I am free from cords.. Windows Sonic (simulated surround sound) works well, though it may not be up to par with DTS, but Dolby Atmos (30 day free trial, $15 to purchase) is exceptional. If you get this headset (or already have it), definitely install Atmos and the demos. Mic quality is good, and the active noise cancellation is a plus. I'm not sure of the construction quality -- lots of plastic. Even though in general I don't purchase extended warranties, it may be a good idea to get the optional Best Buy warranty with it just in case. I had the Stealth 500x wireless headset and while the electronics were fine, the headband eventually broke. Turtle Beach should not have released these when they did; the product wasn't ready and it makes Turtle Beach look bad, but the firmware update seems to have corrected the problem out of the box.

I read the reviews for the headset, but went ahead and got it anyways, because of the black Friday sale, and there was some even newer firmware updates than most the reviews mentioned. All in all, when the headset works, it's great. The issue is at least once a play session either the microphone screws up, and my friends say I sound like a robot, or the incoming audio screws up and either sounds distorted or just cuts off intermittently. I think Microsoft is working with Turtle Beach and they really want the headset to work well, as it's as far as I'm aware the first Xbox Wireless headset (using the same protocol as the controllers to sync to xbox etc.). I think this because I got a message from Xbox Live saying "hey, we think you're using one of these 2 headsets (stealth 600 or 700) these get constantly better, make sure you go update the firmware" Anyways, point being, maybe some future firmware update will remove the last of my issues with it, and the headset will be great. I'm not sure I can wait for that, as it gets pretty annoying to turn off and on frequently, so may end up returning mine.

Not good in high density population

The headphones are above average in performance for the price range. Sound like Turtle Beach boomy as usual however if you live in a highly dense populated area such as a apartment complex it may not be a good option. Even with the updates the xbox built in wireless tech seems to not fair well for full audio and mic bandwidth and tends to chop into what sounds like a broken record. The tech works great for controllers and mics but I don't think it was intended to handle what Turtle Beach is trying to through at it when in a massive wifi populated area. In a quiet place with only 1-3 routers in earshot it works really good but if you have more that 20 and all the wireless phones and everything else it falls apart really bad. The Bluetooth however works way better even in a busy train ride it never faltered for me with my music a fare distance in my pack. Ultimately if you live in a house with router more than 5 feet away they should work great in apartments not so good, just depends on what kind of versatility you need.

I decided that the poor rating on these must be a fluke and went ahead and purchased them. Build Quality: Look cool, but when held feel very cheap. Sound Quality: Even after updating the firmware and adjusting the settings via my Win 10 comp, not great. The game sounds fine, but not spectacular. The biggest problem I have is that people in Xbox party chat sound like they are talking underwater. Xbox Wireless Technology: Not ready yet. Seems simple - press a wireless connection button just like how you'd pair an xbox controller to your console. The result - it does connect rather easily, but once in a while the sound doesn't come through after connecting. The headphones will also drop their connection every half hour or so; sometimes more often; but only for a few seconds. The real problem here is that after reconnecting, you can no longer talk in party chat, you can only hear people. You must leave the chat and re-enter it for the headset to connect properly. Started driving me nuts. Summary: Don't buy these. I look forward to future iterations of no-base station wireless headphones, but it just isn't working properly now. The only thing that impressed me about these (Xbox Wireless Technology) is still a weakness.
