“This controller is everything It is advertised to be. It’s handsome to look at, it’s very customizable and all the buttons are very clicky. The ONLY two issues I had were that the materials were quality but did not feel as quality as the Elite Series 2 and mapping the back buttons to the thumb stick clicks was either not possible or very difficult to do. Otherwise it’s excellent and had it not been yet another $200 controller collecting dust, I would have kept it. It’s a great controller.”

First thing I liked - the display on the controller. A digital display that shows the actual total charge in percentage, and a line on the bottom that specifies how many minutes until it is fully charged. In use though, no more percentage, only the typical few bars graphic. But I like the details while charging it.
It includes three sets of thumbstick rubber covers. Smooth concave, concave with a few bumps for grip (but only four), and convex which is full of texture bumps for grip.
The case includes a passthrough hole for a charging cable just like the Microsoft one does.
The first big downside for me - the transmitter. I never want to deal with a proprietary transmitter for a game controller. I've done that in the past and been disappointed. I like the native ones that work without a USB stick. My Xbox is mounted in a holder on the side of the entertainment unit under the TV. The USB port is just partially blocked by that, so I have to tilt the Xbox a bit to the side, insert the plug, and then deal with some stress there. I could cut a bit out, but ultimately decided there is no need.
The controller itself feels cheap and light, compared to the Microsoft Elite Series 1 and 2 controllers. All light plastic, compared to the easier to grip Microsoft Elite 2 controller I have been using. The shape is well done though, and it fits comfortably in the hand. I prefer the PS 5 controllers due to the adaptive triggers and their force feedback, but I've always preferred the FEEL of the Xbox controllers. This has that feel I like.
The underside added buttons are a bit annoying though. They are similar to a Razor controller I'd had for my Xbox prior to getting my series 2 elite controller. My problem is the one button is fine on the curved section of the grip. But the flat ones on the bottom surface - I have a tendency when I adjust my grip to press them simply due to holding the controller with one hand for a moment as the opposite hand adjusts. I know it's something that a person adjusts to over time though, I did just fine with the other controller in the past.
The on-controller settings - you can easily change the LED colors, effects, speed, everything, right with this onscreen menu, the buttons, and the D pad. Design is intuitive and well laid out.
Button presses are firmer than the MS branded controllers, with very little button travel for A, B, X, Y. This will be a nice thing for some, an annoyance for others. The left and right triggers feature the slide switch to shorten the throw of them - so that it engages instantly with no graduation. Some games that require the varying position won't work with this, it is full on or full off. But for fighting games this is a bonus since you can pull the trigger and it's instantly activated with barely any pressure.
D-Pad is responsive, but I wish they offered the ability to change that as well like you can with the Microsoft one.
Stick movement is smooth and quickly returns to center. I had no issues with drifting or anything. But I'm not a fan of the smooth concave stick covers like I am on the Microsoft one which has a slight edge around the circle. This is just completely smooth. The other one with the four raised dots as a touch better, but still not ideal for me. Nowhere in the instructions that come with it explain the "pull up the sticks" option that makes them not return to center for the first few movements, then eventually they kind of start to. It's very strange. But the feel of them in the normal position is just fine, there is no difference to distract me from what I expect to feel during gaming.
The quick instructions show to search for "Stealth Ultra" on the app stores, Microsoft store, or google play. Unfortunately there was no such thing found when I searched the store on my Xbox. They also mention the Control Center 2.0 app which I *DID* find. This I was able to download and install, and it found my controller.
Up to this point I wasn't very thrilled with this controller. The feel is just cheap and light, as if it was just any inexpensive knockoff. But this app - well, it offers SO MUCH MORE than the Microsoft one does. Until you realize it really DOESN'T. Most of what you see are things that you can also do on the controller directly with the settings options on the screen having to do with the LED effects. And, of course, in the middle of trying to set up a profile, it simply froze up. Turns out for some reason it simply lost the connection, and after 30 or so seconds of being unable to do ANYTHING, I was back at the app's startup page, showing no controller. A few seconds later the controller showed up again. Clearly there are some bugs to work out.
I can try to change the name of a profile - but it never persists. After I do so it simply always shows "Profile 1" and such. Tried many times over a few days, and not once would it actually rename the profile in the app to let me identify it.
So I did a firmware update on the controller, then on the receiver. Another downside - the firmware for the controller requires you plug it back in directly to the USB on the game console. And they don't even SHOW the firmware version you're using when you're wireless with the dongle. You have the ability through the controller's own display though to at least see your firmware version. This way you know if it's worth the hassle to plug into the USB to do an update. But seriously? They can't tell the firmware update on this screen without the USB connection? So you have to remember to check the current version physically on the device working through its on screen system menu. Of course, the firmware update didn't help me with renaming profiles.
A month or so ago I started a replay of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and wanted to map the buttons underneath similar to how I have my Elite 2 controller set. But when I went to set the button options, there are limits. A, B, X, Y, Dpad up, down, left, right. Pro aim. Triggers and shoulder buttons. That's it. NO option for right stick or left stick click, or either of the two system menu options? Seriously? That means that there is not a SINGLE FEATURE that I use on the Xbox Series 2 elite controller's four levers under the controller that I can do with THIS controller. For me there is absolutely no value in mapping A, B, X, or Y. I want things that are annoying during fighting, like stick clicks (L3, R3) and such, or the main menu buttons on either side of the Xbox button that are awkward reaches in the middle of action. But only one of the four things I want to map are even AVAILABLE here.
And after just 30 or so minutes of being on, NOT EVEN USED with any gaming button presses, simply sitting there powered on in the background while I'm trying to do things like upgrade the firmware and rename a profile and map buttons, only one of which I was able to do, it's already down to 76% battery. Dropping this far this fast while not even really in use is VERY concerning to a gamer like myself. I had to get TWO of the PS 5 programmable controllers since their batteries don't last nearly as long as the Xbox One Series 2 Elite does. I can play hours and hours every day for a week or two before I have to charge THAT one. This wouldn't even make it a single gaming session in a single day at this rate.
Three days later, I've still been unable to get it to SAVE anything I tried to edit for profiles. The "default" one actually managed to keep the one button mapping I tried (since this can ONLY map ONE of the buttons I use for AC Odyssey). But while you have the option to rename, I cannot rename them, I cannot try to assign them to slots, map buttons to any OTHER profile, and NOTHING ever gets my edits and renames to actually SAVE and APPLY in the software. I've been doing this for years with things like Razor products and even Microsoft's and Sony's options. But this software simply will NOT keep any settings I give it.
With the LED's on and doing the color cycle option, battery life is lacking. After recharging it again to 100% I tried gaming with it. I played 1 hour of AC Odyssey, it was down to 77 percent. Another hour, was down to 61%. Another 2.5 hours, down to 25%. Another 1 hour, down to 10%. It's odd how sometimes 1 hour consumes almost 25% and other times 2 hours only consumes 15%. I made it just under 7 hours before hitting zero%. Next day after charging overnight, turned off all LED activity, made it 7 hours and 10 minutes.
So this really comes down to the cool screen telling you how charged it is, and the pretty LED lights that you can do effects with. And for that, it's just not worth it. The inability to map any really NEEDED button options for me was the absolute final straw. The requirement for a USB receiver was the OTHER thing that already had this on the "I don't think I'd use it" list. At least if everything else was good enough, I may have put up with the USB receiver. But it fails on battery life compared to my Microsoft controller, fails on button mapping (the whole REASON as far as I'm concerned to even get anything beyond the standard controllers), and fails on the fit and finish and feel of the controller. I'll stick to my current controller.

It’s a great device for gaming. But honestly after awhile it does tend to have connectivity issues. I suggest getting the warranty. Because depending on your luck, you may have to replace it soon after purchase. But when it’s working correctly it’s an absolute beast of a controller.

After going throught two elite controllers over the last couple of years I felt like it was time for a change. I like the trigger stops and all of the button options for the controller. The buttons are also very reaponsive which is super nice. The only gripes I have is that sometimes it takes afew extra seconds for it to connect to my xbox and I'm personally not a fan about the weight since it feels to light.

This controller fails to live up to the steep $200 price tag. There are things that they did well, such as the dock that includes the USB transmitter, the Hall effect sticks, and generally responsive and clicky buttons that feel decent. In terms of the actual shape of the controller, it feels similar to an Elite 2 controller which is good.
Where things start to go bad is with the placement of the back buttons. The paddles on the Elite 2 controller are massively better, as they sit exactly where your ring and middle finger naturally rest and require a firm press. On the Stealth Ultra, they are too easily activated and require your middle fingers to switch between each one instead of having a finger available for each button.
The "view" and "menu" buttons are in poor positions. They would be much better being placed down by the Xbox button on each side of it, as the "view" button can't even be pressed without reaching over the left thumb stick, which isn't a huge issue though as it's usually only used to go into maps/scoreboards, but still annoying nonetheless.
The materials used on the controller itself feel cheap, and would be more at home on a $60 base Xbox controller. This is especially noticeable coming from the nice rubberized feeling of the Elite 2 controller. The lack of swappable sticks is unacceptable at this price point.
Speaking of sticks, my controller suffers from "ghost" inputs on the right stick occasionally, which will result in my character or camera continuing to look right/left even after I have let go of the stick like it gets "stuck" even when it's not. I hope it's something that can be fixed with a software update or it's just an issue with my model, but again it doesn't look good on a premium controller.
I thought the screen would be more of a gimmick, but I actually really liked how easy it is to navigate through and change settings or profiles on the fly. With that being said, the "screen timeout" setting worked at first on my controller, but now just never turns off, even with it being set to turn off after only one minute, which drains battery life unnecessarily, which is important because I don't think you can even get 15 hours regularly with all lights on low settings and conservative power saving settings.
The connection has been okay, it takes a couple seconds longer than a regular Xbox controller to turn on and connect, and I've had issues with it not receiving inputs and needing to be turned on and off again. I've had issues using the PC app as well, which doesn't seem to save my settings to the controller at all, so all settings have been changed through the controller's screen and onboard software.
The rumble/vibration has cut out on me during certain games (vibrates for the first 1-2 seconds while shooting and then cuts out) and the rumble motors in general don't seem good compared to the Elite 2 controller.
The Elite 2 Controller is definitely a better option for a premium device, but the quality control on those is very poor, and the extended warranty seems absolutely necessary, hence me purchasing the Stealth Ultra in the first place looking for a better alternative.
Overall, there are enough software/hardware issues with this controller that prevent me from recommending it. Some of these issues will likely be fixed in the (hopefully next) future firmware updates, as everything is fully updated on 12/17/23. The lack of quality for the build itself and the lack of ergonomic testing from Turtle Beach are things that you will be stuck with though, which leaves this controller feeling like a cheaper option trying to charge more for the novelty of the screen and the Hall Effect sticks.

Hall Effect Controller Taken to the Next Level

This controller is a dream come true. It has anti-drift hall-effect joysticks, extra buttons on the back, mouse click buttons, trigger stops, carrying case, and on top of it all Turtle Beach managed to get the software for Xbox Wireless. That alone is impressive. I used an elite series 2 for years and this has replaced it for me. The app is a bit janky to use but the customization is amazing. You can change the led color, load up to ten different profiles with different control layouts with their own respective stick precision settings - down to being able to customize the deadzones themselves in the controller, not through the game. Its responsive, and amazing. Buy this controller if you've got a elite series 2 with stick drift and rb issues.

I was really excited when I saw this premium version of the Turtle Beach controller. I've liked their other controllers, which were great for what they were. Just not pro controllers. Even though some worked close to it. So I knew this one was gonna be one of the best. Which couldn't be further from the truth. The carrying case and controller itself look fantastic. The screen on the controller is well done and looks great on the controller. Honestly its probably the only part of the controller that actually works. As far as the app its horrible. It seems like non of the changes I would make to the controller would take. The profiles are clunky and never seem to update correctly. I would make some changes and i change screens and everything would be gone. I would close the app out and come back to some chages done while others set on something I never saved while just testing the app. So I made most of my adjustments on the screen of the controller. Which works... kinda. I would have to make the same changes multiple times before it would actually stay on the controller. So much so I'm not sure if anything ever changed or not. The controller itself would disconnect while wired. Bluetooth didn't work. The dongal wasn't bad after playing around with the controller for an hour to get it to connect. The controller isnt very comfortable to hold because its made with hard plastic that has the smallest amount of thin texture to give the impression of softness. I had stick drift and both sticks would grind when I rotated them. I really tried to like the controller and kept trying to adjust setting and updating all the software. In the end I ended up returning the controller right before the 30 days were up. It's a huge disappointment to me. Especially with all the reviews online singing the praises of it. Maybe I got an early dud that was rush for the preorder sales. Maybe high expectations and anticipation doomed it for me. Or maybe its was complete crap on release date. I could see some changes being made that would make it a very nice gamepad. That and a complete overhaul of the app. Until then I would completely avoid this controller. Especially at the insane price its currently priced.

Ive had mine for about 6 months now. Pros: mouse click on face, d-pad and bumpers is great, wish there was an option to make the triggers mouse click too. The custom lights, build quallity and haptic vibration makes the controller feel premium. Cons. Battery life is closer to 8 hours depending on your settings. No where near 36 hours they promise. There has been some bugs in the software/app here and there but nothing too bad. Overall i give this a 8/10 and enjoy it slightly more than the Xbox Series Elite 2.

I have been bouncing around Xbox controllers since stock Xbox controllers only have a 125hz Polling rate due to a limitation with Xbox Wireless. When I saw this controller with Pro features and a 250hz polling rate, hall effect sticks, and mechanical buttons I was definitely intrigued.
While the controller is not perfect it does work extremely well. Battery life cpuld be better but you could lower the LED and screen brightness to help with that. It also works seamlessly as a wired controller or with the included dongle. The antifriction rings do not seem do their job, but it isnt too different from the Elite Series 2.
Overall, I will say this is the best controller for Xbox and could even be a solid option for PC. However, PC has access to other controllers that might be more worthwile in terms of feature set for the price.

Ive had this controller for about 3 to 4 months and it has its pros but more cons the controller to turn on and connect takes like 15 seconds for when watching shows it isn’t practical for skipping ads the add is over before it’s connected, randomly the right stick in game will occasionally make me turn instantly 90 degrees which I have no clue why, the buttons I love and the joy sticks the feel is nice but also my left side grip is completly peeling off I had a elite series two for 2 to 3 years and that didn’t happen few months and it’s peeling off and it is very aggravating watched multiple videos on the controller before purchase and come to find out wasn’t all that

Controller itself is great, I like the clicky face buttons and adjustable trigger stops. My only note is it is very light, not to say it isn’t well made, it’s just significantly lighter than an elite series 2 if that matters to you. Intermittent connection issues with the dongle if plugged into the back of the console I found.

With this joystick I enjoy the hall effect sticks essentially eliminating no drift issues. The joystick feels good but the D pad does feel mushy. The downside is the software needs allot of work but I knew that going in. Turtlebeach app on your phone for setup garbage, most features are not in the app. The xbox app, you can make all types of changes but never syncs to the joystick. The best way to make changes is on the joystick itself using the lcd screen.
I have 60+ hours on the joystick now. It has randomly disconnected twice, have experienced ghost menus touches 3 times. Also this joystick will not turn on your xbox as advertised unless your xbox was turned off in a 5 minute window. TB advertised this joystick having a 30 hour battery, aint no way. I have everything turned off rgb lighing and lcd adter 1 minute. Im guessing this joystick has a battwry life of 12-15 hours max. A little adjustment since my elite 2, only recall charging it twice a month. I feel another firmware update could get this joystick dialed in. Only time will tell but i do plan on keeping it.

I recently purchased this controller for my Xbox Series X, and while there are features I absolutely love, a few aspects were less impressive. The setup was a breeze, and it has been performing flawlessly ever since. Although the build quality feels solid, it is a bit lighter compared to my Xbox Elite controllers. The charging dock is a fantastic bonus, ensuring the controller is always powered up, which is essential given the built-in lights and screen can drain the battery quicker than I anticipated. Its seamless PC connectivity makes it a versatile addition to my gaming laptop, turning it into my preferred "on-the-go" controller.

I love this controller. It’s by far one of the best one’s I’ve had for my Xbox. The only thing about it I don’t like is the fact that it won’t connect wirelessly sometimes or it will take forever to connect. But other than that, I love it.
