Turtle Beach has released a new mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting that works with the SWARM II app. The Vulcan II TKL is lightweight and has a small footprint. The keys are solid and responsive. The keys have a solid feel to them. I don’t have to press all the way down to have it respond to a key press. Slight movement of a key is enough. I played Battlefield 6 for hours with it and enjoyed the sessions with the Vulcan II TKL. It doesn’t have a number pad, so it is a somewhat compact keyboard. I’ll be using this with my gaming laptop, but I could just as well use it with my desktop. It has RGB lighting that can be controlled through the SWARM II software. I can set the pattern, control the colors, etc. through SWARM II. It makes it easy to set it the way I wanted it. SWARM II also allowed me to configure what FN key combinations do. The configurability of that is made to be easy and it is. Turtle Beach has definitely made it straight forward to configure the Vulcan II and have made it easy to use Game Mode. It can support up to 5 profiles on the keyboard and sports a 1000Hz polling rate. It uses Titan linear mechanical switches with an estimated lifespan of 50 million keystrokes and comes with extra switches. It also comes with a switch puller and keycaps. Turtle Beach says it will support 3rd party keycaps which is a plus. I don’t see myself wearing out the switches, but it’s good to know I can replace them along with key caps if I need to. It is a low profile lightweight keyboard. It isn’t very wide since it doesn’t have a number pad. I don’t use number pads while gaming, so for me, it is a plus that it doesn’t have one. There are two angles you can set the keyboard to using the two sets of flip out feet. It also has rubber pads on the bottom to prevent it from shifting while gaming. I played many hours with it and not once did it shift forward, so the rubber pads serve their purpose well. Final Thoughts I like the Vulcan II TKL a lot. It’s form factor works well with my gaming laptop and it fits well inside my laptop backpack. Being able to configure profiles is a great feature. I also feel better knowing that I can replace not only the key caps, but also the switches if I ever have a problem with them. It’s also quieter than my other mechanical keyboard. My other one is loud while typing, but the Vulcan II TKL isn’t. Overall, I’m impressed with what Turtle Beach has made with the Vulcan II TKL. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mechanical keyboard. Especially if someone is looking to save space either on their desk or in their laptop backpack. I hope Turtle Beach keeps this line of keyboards going on into the future. I’ll be looking forward to what they do with this line.

A very nice keyboard with style and speed. I really like the feel of the keys and the build quality feels very sold as well. I’ll be going over its features and comparing it to my Vulcan TKL II Pro as well. About a year ago I reviewed the Vulcan TKL II Pro with electronic hall-effect keys that use tiny magnets in each key to log keystrokes. With it, you can set the depth of a keypress before it considers it a keystroke. 1 to 4 mm in 30 steps per key. There are other differences as well, and I’ll cover them later in the review where needed. From here on out I’ll be referring to Turtle Beach as TB. The keyboard I’m reviewing as Mech. and the hall-effect switch Pro version as Pro. Ships with a USB-A to USB-C cable, 3 replacement switches and a removal tool. No wrist rest as with the Pro. Installing software using QR code with my phone took me to TB’s site with options to download product info, sign up and save in a rewards program, register my product... scrolling on down is just more stuff. But first I had to deal with a couple of pop-ups. One about cookies and the other is trying to sell me something. Since I have already reviewed a TB keyboard, I just pulled up Swarm 2 and added it. If this is your first TB keyboard then you will need to go to TB’s site and download Swarm II to make use of its features. It will want you to update Swarm II twice and then the same for the keyboard’s firmware. After all of that, you’re ready to go and set things up. Key mapping, key colors and such. Be warned, Swarm II isn’t the most user-friendly app to navigate. I really like the feel of how the keys move on the TB Vulcans compared to my Logitech MX and Spark 910G. There’s a little bit more resistance to the feel when you push a key down on this keyboard compared to the Pro. Nothing remotely close to a night and day difference, but noticeable. Might even be preferred by some. They sound about the same in use with the mechanical version having a very slightly duller clicking sound. The somewhat pastel-ish looking RGB colors are easy on the eyes. Build quality feels solid. The top deck under the keys is aluminum. It’s cold to the touch, whereas plastic generally isn’t. The bottom is plastic. I like the three height positions the dual function feet provided on the back. I like how the sculpted keys feel. Unlike the Pro I reviewed over a year ago, there’s no Neoprene wrist pad included. I like that you can change and use third party the keycaps. I was able to put some of the keycaps from my Logitech MX on the TB to see how it felt and looked. Performance wise; the action is snappy. Be it typing or gaming. I do a lot of typing and I really like how this keyboard feels. I didn't care for the size of the keycaps on the Pro, they were smaller than what I’m used to. One of the things I noticed about this keyboard is that the key caps are larger. Not a huge difference, about 2 millimeters, or so, but enough that I could tell the difference, and you can see it with them side by side. They are nicely sculpted and feel good to type and game with. I also didn’t care for all the light bleed around the keys and switches with the hall-effect version but got used to it. So, one of the things I noticed was that this keyboard isn’t as bright as the other one. The Pro is twice as bright at full brightness. I also want to note that Turtle Beach sells the same keyboard with the numeric pad. Swapping the switches is very easy with the included tool. They are simple normally open momentary single pole, single throw switches and do not require power to operate. They just make a circuit when they are pushed down and the contacts closed. I like the feel of the indented volume knob. Pressing it toggles mute on and off. A nice touch. Compared to the Pro: 1: The depth of a key press to it being registered as a keystroke is fixed versus variable and user programmable per key with the Pro. 2: 50 million keystroke life versus 150 million on the Pro. But you can replace switches on this one. 3: Slightly larger keycaps and dimmer than the Pro. See photos Conclusion: I think this keyboard is good value for the money. You have the unique option to change the switches and the keycaps. The Pro version offers more for not much more money. However, you might not need its extra features, and I like the larger keycaps better. You can’t go wrong with either. Recommended.

A Surprising Shift from Headsets to Keyboards Turtle Beach is best known for its gaming headsets, but with the Vulcan II TKL, they’ve stepped into the mechanical keyboard scene—and honestly, they’ve made quite the entrance. Whether you're deep into competitive gaming or just love a great typing experience, this compact keyboard has a lot going for it. First Impressions: Sleek, Smart, and Space-Saving Right out of the box, the Vulcan II TKL feels thoughtfully designed. It’s got a clean, matte-black look that fits just as well in a minimalist workspace as it does in a neon-lit gaming rig. The tenkeyless layout (no number pad) is a smart move—it frees up desk space without sacrificing essential keys. Build-wise, it’s mostly plastic, which keeps it light. Some people might wish for a metal base for that extra premium feel, but the overall construction still feels solid and dependable. Typing That Just Feels Right The linear switches are the star here. They’re smooth, consistent, and satisfyingly responsive—great for both gaming and long typing sessions. And if you’re into customizing your setup, the hot-swappable switches make it super easy to swap out for something that suits your style, no soldering required. The soft-touch keycaps are a nice touch too. They’re comfy and help reduce fatigue, even during marathon sessions. There’s a tiny bit of key wobble, but nothing that gets in the way of performance. RGB That’s Actually Tasteful RGB lighting is everywhere these days, but Turtle Beach nails the execution. It’s vibrant without being over-the-top, and the customization options are deep. The companion software is intuitive and lets you tweak everything—from per-key colors to game-synced effects. It’s not just flashy—it’s functional and personal. Wired and Reliable This is a wired keyboard, and that’s a good thing. You get zero input lag and a rock-solid connection, which is crucial for fast-paced gaming or precision work. Setup is plug-and-play, and it works seamlessly across different PC setups. Whether you're editing video, grinding ranked matches, or just browsing Reddit, it fits right in. Big Features, Fair Price One of the best things about the Vulcan II TKL? It punches above its price. You’re getting premium features—great switches, deep customization, solid build quality—without the premium price tag. It’s a smart buy for anyone who wants performance and style without overspending. Final Thoughts: A Compact Keyboard That Delivers Turtle Beach might be new to keyboards, but the Vulcan II TKL shows they’re serious. It’s stylish, responsive, and packed with features that make it feel like more than just another gaming accessory. Sure, there’s room for refinement, but overall, it’s a strong contender in the mechanical keyboard space. If you’re looking for a compact, customizable, and reliable keyboard that won’t drain your wallet, the Vulcan II TKL is absolutely worth a look.

I have been using a wired mouse/keyboard that came with my desktop gaming computer and was happy with it – as I also was using my wireless “business” keyboard/mouse. Until I tried this unit – it simply makes you a better gamer. In the box are; Brushed Aluminum Plate Keyboard with Hot Swapable Keys, RGB lighting, sound deadening foam. 6 ft 6 inch USB-C to USB-A cable Keycap & Switch Puller with 3 extra TITAN HS Linear Switches Instructions – minimal, but did provide QR code as well as info to download Swarm II software from Turtle Beach HDMI (about 5 feet in length) I like the layout and feel of this keyboard and keys are quiet. It is light weight for easy transport. The new (?) Titan HS linear keys react quickly, and the caps and keys themselves are easily swapped out. I did swap out a key to test, and it was easy to do, although I was afraid of damaging it. You can use either 3 or 5 pin switches. Having a dial for volume control makes it super easy to adjust as does pressing it turn off sound. USB-C connection is on left side of keyboard – not center – making cable less intrusive, I think. Also, if you should happen to lose the cable – it is not proprietary. Adjustable kickstand on back – low/high height. I loaded the Swarm II software, and it indicated there was an update to this software as well as firmware update for keyboard. The software update installed with no issues, but the firmware didn’t take – took a couple of attempts to complete. The software allows you to swap/change function keys, regular keys, change/adjust color, add/edit profiles (up to 5 I believe), etc. I did not change function keys but did map 7 to Q key and Q to 7 key. It picked up typing change, but it did not carry over jump function in Minecraft. Maybe this was due to operator error? 1 year warranty For me this keyboard was a huge step up using any measurement you choose- quality, value, options, feel – the list goes on and I do recommend.

The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL is a modern looking, low profile, ten-keyless mechanical gaming keyboard. It's built with Titan HS Linear switches that are fast and responsive. I've put it through its paces with various games and also boring productivity tasks for work. It holds up well and I'll let you know what I like and any suggestions I might have. - Design/Build/Unboxing - The box is basic with a keyboard, Wired USB-C to USB-A cable, The Vulcan II TKL is low profile with a floating key style that reveals the switch housing. Nothing feels cheap and the keys are responsive. It looks great on my desk. It's ten-keyless, built for gaming, but it also has a very convenient volume key where you can feel each turn of the dial and push the button in to mute. There are double kickstands and anti-slip feet. It's made out of a hard-plastic but the top has a textured aluminum finish. It's pretty light but it does stay in place as it should. * Specs/Features * The Vulcan II TKL has a lot of features. There are Titan HS switches, pre-lubed and rated for about 50 million keystrokes. There's sound dampening foam, Full Key (NKRO), anti-ghosting and a 1000Hz polling rate. All of the customization is handled through the swarm app that I have found works well and easy to navigate. There are hot-swappable keys (3-pin and 5-pin.) I removed the key and switch easily and can attest it works as advertised. - ReacTap lets you bind two keys for faster reactions, you can save your combos to your profile. - Smart shortcuts lets you launch Xbox game bar features like screen recording, screenshots, and HDR toggle. - You can bind keys to launch AI tools - There is endless customization depending on which mode you choose: Primary, FN, Game Mode - Easy Shift Layers to customize outputs such as Hot Keys, Macros, and Remapping - Per Key RGB, Custom Effect Lighting - You can setup profiles and even launch specific ones depending on the app * Performance * This keyboard is a perfectly competent performer. I play mostly FPS and the keyboard kept up without any issue. It's fast, responsive, and the 1.8mm actuation is perfect for my style. All key presses registered immediately with no lag and the full NKRO and anti-ghosting worked in the most chaotic moments of the game. There were no accidental key presses and no slipping when typing the keys. No matter what you hear, the switches are extremely easy to switch out in a matter of seconds (with the tool provided), and it's nice they're compatible with other keys if that's your preference. The customization in the swarm app is endless. It's also nice that they have macro groups for specific games. I was able to jump into Apex Legends and change the trigger, delays, and repeat for each key to match my gaming preferences. RGB Lighting has 9 presets and is easy to customize. * Pros/Cons * * Pros * * Fast, smooth, and quiet * Titan HS Switches * Switches are easy to change-out * Beautiful Design * Swarm software works good * Volume knob is a great addition * Suggestions/Needs Improvement * * Keycaps will pick up fingerprints * Wrist rest would be nice * Software crashed a few times, probably needs an update The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Wired Keyboard is a great looking and solid performing gaming keyboard. It's hot swappable and easy to customize, including a ton of presets for games and apps. I recommend it to anyone looking for an upgrade.

It’s a solid keyboard with good tactile responses, full RGB support and a great rocker button. The switches are hot-swappable, and it includes a long cable. A firmware update is available, so I proceeded to update the keyboard accordingly. I’ve been playing Helldivers 2 (HD 2) with the keyboard, and it is a solid performer. At such an entry level price, this mechanical keyboard does not support keyboard travel customization. The actuation point is at 1.8 mm and the travel distance is 4 mm. The good news is, key press feels responsive, and the tactile feeling is good. Movement is swift and responsive, and the keyboard's 4 mm travel makes using HD 2 stratagems easy and satisfying. Of course, the accompanying software allows for some deep customization including creation of macro shortcuts and use of several RGB illumination themes. Turtle Beach provides pre-made macros and the library is pretty extensive comprising of recent AAA games. However, HD 2 premade macros are not there. I’ve also been enjoying typing with the keyboard. I get it why it doesn’t come with a palm rest but I think it’s quite a major omission to what could have been a great entry level mechanical keyboard. The rocker button gives precise, tactile volume control and mute and it is actually one of the best performer even when comparing to a much more expensive keyboard on the market. Overall, this is a solid keyboard. Like: Solid performer Great rocker button Semi-compact size Don’t Like: Doesn’t come with a palm rest.

I think that Turtle Beach hit the nail on the head with this keyboard! Based on the Vulcan keyboards from Roccat that they acquired years ago, they continue to preserve this amazing form factor and build style in the current iteration of the keyboards. With this particular model of the Vulcan II TKL, you get hot-swappable mechanical switches on a detachable USB-C wired keyboard with a brushed metal keyboard deck, resulting in a quality experience that exceeds expectations for the price tag. My entire experience with this keyboard has been great because I feel like Turtle Beach delivered exactly the experience I have come to enjoy on the Vulcan keyboard line. The key caps included are truly a great look that I think sets this keyboard apart from many competitors with typical full PCB keycaps, but I appreciate that Turtle Beach ensured that compatibility remains in place so that you can swap in other keycaps if you have ones that you prefer to go with your included red linear switches present here. I think again, circling back, that simplicity and utility are what I appreciate so much about this gaming keyboard. This has just enough bells and whistles, like the programmable knob at the top left, to help elevate the keyboard experience, but it keeps the core details that are most important to gamers, such as excellent switches and reliable, responsive keyboard functionality. I tested this keyboard with one of my most frenetic and high-movement games, Doom Eternal, and found that it was more than up to the challenge of rapid and multiple key strokes while I was grappling around arenas in Nightmare difficulty. Altogether, I think this is a great keyboard for beginners to intermediate-level gamers, and I recommend trying it out if you are interested!

Turtle Beach has a solid option with the Vulcan II TKL Wired Compact RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. Terribly long name, good keyboard with a caveat for me that might not be an issue for all. When I first got this keyboard, I instantly noticed how light it felt vs other lower premium/ mid tier gaming keyboards I’ve had/tested recently. At first this was offputting as it made it feel slightly cheap, but then I realized it was because of the “lack of keys” or just the fact that the keys are so slim, that there probably is some weight savings in that alone. It feels plenty solid once I started using it. Gaming is relatively easy with this keyboard, I haven’t noticed much fall off of my mediocre Battlefield 6 ability. (at 37, small little changes can really ruin my KD!) The only major gripe I have with this keyboard is one that overlaps into typing. I constantly press an extra key or 2 due to the unusually small gap in between keys. (I do not have this issue with laptop keyboards that can be very close together so I can’t exactly “put my finger” on the reason) I’m not a big fan of the app, seems to take forever to update, but fine once it's going. RGB is quite good, really stands out because of the ultra slim keys on top of full size switches. Overall, not a top choice of mine, but not a bad choice either. (could be especially good if you have small fingers!)

Hot-Swappable TKL Keyboard with Extra Features

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently picked up a Turtle Beach PC Mouse that had left me pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it, so I decided I wanted to try one of the keyboards as well. I chose the Vulcan II TKL Wired Compat Mechanical Keyboard because it was a compact keyboard and had Hot-Swappable switches. Pros: - Simple Plug & Play, but is better with Swarm II app. - Easy to clean keys/switches. - Smooth, Pre-lubed Linear Switches. - Hot-Swappable Switches, compatible with 3-pin & 5-pin switches. Cons: - Bottom plastic feels cheap. - Key Caps are very smooth, can get slippery. Setup: One of the main features I look for in any PC accessory is if it is Plug-&-Play without the need of extra apps or software. Turtle Beach keeps with its ease of use making the Vulcan II Plug-&-Play, no software needed to use it out of the box. But there are extra features like the remapping that do require the Swarm II app, but it makes the keyboard better and is completely optional from just using the basic keyboard. In the box you will find the keyboard, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a Key & Switch Puller tool, and spare switches. The Vulcan II has hot-swappable switches, which means you can swap out the keyboard switches with other 3-pin & 5-pin switches. This makes it possible to repair and customize the keyboard in the future if a key switch breaks or you want to change the key or key caps. Software: The Vulcan II also uses the Swarm II app for updates, configuration, and customization. I’m still very impressed with the Swarm II app, compared to previous versions of Turtle Beach software. I find it easy to navigate and adjust settings with ease. One of the best parts of the Swarm II app design is all the settings are on one page; you have to scroll and click on different option tabs to access the features, but it is all from the same device page. For the Vulcan II, there are 2 features: Functions and Light Effects. Functions consists of the ability to remap keys using 4 different layers: Primary, FN, Game Mode, and Easy Shift. The Primary and FN are straight forward in that Primary directly changes the key mapping and FN maps functions to key presses that use the Function key (Windows Key) + another key. Game Mode is an enhanced mode that disables select keys when the mode is on such as the Windows Key and Capslock to help prevent accidental presses and unintentional key combos, such as the built-in windows commands. During this mode, the Easy Shift key is how you access additional functions/macros you’ve stored into the keyboard. This way, you only activate the key presses you want to while gaming, and don’t end up dead from Alt-Tabing out of a game. Game Mode is nice by itself if you tend to miss press keys, but paired with Easy Shift it comes out even better allowing you to still have additional macros without the hassle of windows causing issues. Lighting controls are just as easy, click the keys in the Swarm II app you want to set a lighting pattern to and click the lighting pattern. Done. The only issue I found was that occasionally, while adjusting the lighting patterns the Swarm II app would crash. A system reboot fixed the issue, but I did encounter it twice while adjusting the settings. Build & Feel: Typing on and using the Vulcan II keyboard feels good, each key press is responsive and provides a good amount of tactile feel without too much noise. The key cap is slightly indented which fits the fingertips nicely. One concern I have about the key caps is they are rather smooth which gets a bit slippery if your hand is sweaty. I personally like more texture on my keyboard keys to help with typing accuracy. I like the low-profile key caps, as they leave room between and below each key which makes cleaning very easy with either a key cleaner brush or a duster. The top plate of the keyboard is aluminum which looks and feels good, gives a premium feel. But unfortunately, the bottom throws that all off, with a cheap plastic feel. It’s like cheap electronic case, like that on a VCR (for those who know). It throws off the Premium feel the keyboard would otherwise have. The cable is detachable, connecting to a USB-C port on the top Left of the keyboard. This is great in the case that the USB cable gets damaged, it can just be replaced. Switches: The Turtle Beach Titan HS Mechanical Switches are nice, as a linear style switch, they are very smooth but also rather quiet due to the pre-lubrication. The design includes sound dampening foam and stabilization that greatly reduces key noise, only the straight click and release of the key is auditable while typing. No loose wobble or rattling that is often heard with mechanical keys. I really like it, as I love the tactile feel of mechanical keyboards but dislike the clicky-clacky sound that often accompanies those types of switches. Additional Features: The Vulcan II includes Turtle Beach’s take on a macro type key input that allows multiple key inputs for movement, called ReacTap SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions). This is mainly used on the movement keys to help with strafing, in that you can press two keys (A & D for example) at the same time, but the keyboard will keep track of the order in which you pressed the keys. It’s a neat feature but be warned that it is considered a macro/modification to game movement input for many competitive games, like Counter Strike, where using it will result in a ban. Be careful and read your games User Agreement before using. In addition to the ReacTap SOCD, the Vulcan II is Full Key NKRO, meaning all keys can be pressed as an input at the same time and be registered. This is very helpful for gamers, especially when playing games that require multiple key inputs or different combinations of keys. I found this very helpful in the MMORPG games, where movement and activating abilities is important. Basically, there are no “Input” limits for this keyboard. As previously mentioned, the keyboard has Hot-Swappable switches, which are compatible with 3-pin or 5-pin switches. This gives you options on what switches to go with and from who. Additionally, the installed switches on the Vulcan II are compatible with most key caps, so if you like the feel of the switch but want something else for the cap, you can just swap it out. Conclusion: If you’re looking for a new TKL wired keyboard, that has a lot of features plus many that provide a future repair or upgrade path, then the Turtle Beach Vulcan II is a great option to consider. The Hot-Swappable switches along with compatibility with other switches and key caps gives you endless options for customization. The enhanced features from the Swarm II app allow you to up your game, in more ways than one.

I don't want to be to hasty here, but I think this keyboard is "the one." The switches are fantastic. They are super responsive, and the overall aesthetic is really nice with the exposed switch design. I genuinely love the way they feel and sound while I'm typing—they have a satisfying, crisp sound without being overly loud. The compact layout is awesome for saving space on my desktop, letting me fling my mouse around and giving me plenty of room for my gaming keypad. However, I do notice the difference when I'm typing; just writing this review makes the tighter grouping noticeably obvious. I might teach myself to live with it (and the absence of a 10 key number pad) and just use this as my everyday keyboard because the rest of the experience is so good. I'm a beginner to keyboard customization, and this a great fit for me. It's compatible with many aftermarket switches, making it easy to learn as I go. The box includes a key and switch puller, which is a nice touch, and three extra switches. A quick note of caution: the extra switches come in an unmarked black box, and I almost tossed them with the rest of the packaging. The companion software, Swarm II, is intuitive and lightweight. I am not a peripheral brand loyalist and usually dread dealing with yet another separate profiling app, but Turtle Beach makes this very easy on me. There are no outright negatives to speak of here. This is a solid, responsive, and stylish keyboard that grows on me the more I use it.

    Quality Hot-Swappable gaming keyboard

The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Wired Compact RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Hot-Swappable Switches comes in the box wrapped up in paper, just like a Christmas gift! First thing they recommend is to download the Swarm II software app. Next, plug in the supplied braided 5.9 ft USB-C to USB-A cord. It's as simple as that to get hooked up and going. I then opened the Swarm II app and it instantly recognized my new keyboard. There were necessary updates that were mandatory to install. With this app, you can bind 2 keys together for faster reactions which also helps to eliminate my issue of pressing 2 keys at once. Also here, you are able to program hot keys, build macros, and remap keys. There are a lot of adjustments that can be made, including the RGB lighting which can be customized to your liking, if you don't care for the pre-set choices. This is a compact keyboard which is quite similar to a full size keyboard in function, except that it doesn't have the number-pad. It is TKL (ten keyless). It still has the function keys and directional keys. It does have hot swappable Titan mechanical switches - linear switches (1.8mm actuation). No soldering with switch changes! I find the keypress to be very smooth and somewhat quiet. I have no issues with the keys at all, which are rated for 50 million keystrokes.Turtle Beach also provides a switch and keycap puller along with spare switches. This has a brushed aluminum top plate which has a great feel and adds weight to an otherwise plastic keyboard. It still feels sturdy and solid. With its weight and rubber feet, it simply doesn't move during my gaming. You can set up to 5 different playing profiles and there is a volume wheel. Overall, I love the look and feel of this Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Wired Compact RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Hot-Swappable Switches. Using it for gaming works well for me and its fun to use too. Doing my everyday typing on it is a pleasure as well. It has that good of a feel. Solid and well-built, I know this keyboard will last me a good long time. Yes, I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone in the market for a gaming keyboard.

The Vulcan II TKL is a solid, compact, no-nonsense mechanical keyboard with a few cool design touches. What really stood out to me is the unique keycap design—they only cover the top of the switches, leaving the sides exposed. This means less dust and dirt get trapped underneath, making it super easy to wipe or blow the keyboard clean, which is a nice real-world plus. I do wish the keycaps were transparent to let the RGB lighting really pop through, because the current setup mutes the backlighting a bit, but it doesn’t ruin the look and practicality. The switches are a red Cherry-like linear , so you get smooth, light key presses with no tactile bump. This is perfect if you play competitive shooters where every millisecond counts, as it registers the slightest keypress quickly. On the flip side, if you prefer a tactile or clicky feel, you might miss that feedback. Build quality feels sturdy, especially the stainless steel key deck, which not only adds a premium weight and solidness but is also super easy to clean after long sessions. The keyboard has good RGB lighting customization and the hot-swappable switches mean you can easily swap them out if you want a different feel in the future. Overall, it’s a well-made, gamer-focused keyboard. Just keep in mind it prioritizes smooth, fast key activation over a tactile typing experience, so it’s best for folks who game competitively or like light, responsive keys. You can change the switches fairly easily, but you'd do better to get the pro with tactile switches instead if you're looking for that. Recommended!

What you guys eating over there at Turtle Beach? I never paid that much attention to your hardware but now you have my undivided attention. I really like this Vulkan II TKL wired RGB keyboard. The size is just right. I can go back to not using a controller on some games which is a hoot. Forgot how much fun using mouse and keyboard were. Being able to change out the switches is a nice touch. It feels great and even though I am not a huge fan of RGB I do like that I can customize it and give it a look that I like. The wrist wrest is a nice touch. Getting older so that came in clutch. This keyboard is built very well and is sturdy enough to handle some late night gaming abuse AKA rage quitting. I hope all the other keyboard makers are getting ready to step their game up because this bad boy is great for someone on a budget. It doesn't feel like it's a budget unit. The macro setups using the Swarm software is easy to setup. Overall I would definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone. This is a good looking keyboard and has a lot of features that I will probably never get around to using. If you are in need of a new keyboard put this on your list to check out.

This review is for the Vulcan II TKL wired compact RGB mechanical keyboard. The TKL stands for Tenkeyless which is why this is a smaller compact keyboard it does not have the numeric keys on the side. Not really needed for gaming but if you are like me and use one set up for everything (connecting laptops to monitors and have desktop pc also connected to the same monitors then you may want the full size version of this keyboard but this wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Aesthetically, I love RGB keyboards and Turtle Beach has a great user interface for modifying the settings to your preference. This keyboard also comes with a tool to remove the keys and four extra key replacements. The keys are also universal connect so you can further personalize the keys to your preference if you want a softer key or one with more grip. The keys have a nice feel to them very tactile and responsive. Typing was smooth and responsive, the tapping noise was only loud during rapid fire (lol). Overall, I recommend this keyboard for its ease in customizing, universal keys to further customize and ergonomics.

Decent keyboard with soft keys but not clicky mech

The preface this, I have another clicky mechanical keyboard that I’ve been using, so replacing it with this one first thing I noticed is that it has soft keys and not that satisfying click. So if you’re looking for a nice click, this isn’t the keyboard for you. It works as any keyboard to game and type, but to me its better then a standard office keyboard but not as nice as a clicky mechanical keyboard. It is also very small, which is nice if you don’t have desk space, but I’m use to something bigger. The software also didn’t work great, and when I tried to change the colors, each time it crashed. On top of that, when I plugged it in I couldn’t use it. Might have been just my PC, but I had to go through and remove the keyboard and all keyboard drives and unplug a USB device before I could type. So is there anything good about the keyboard? I would say it actually would be a better office keyboard then a gaming one as its quite so you can use it without other people hearing you type. If you need something small and quite, this might be a good choice, but in my experience there are better gaming keyboards.

I've had this keyboard for a little over a week and it's extremely comfortable. I honestly didn't even know turtle beach made a keyboard, they also make remotes, mouse, other stuff. I'm planning on getting a head set through them as well. Coming from all razer set up.

I’ll be straight with you: when I first saw the Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL, I figured it might just be another flashy RGB keyboard trying to justify its price. But after using it, I can say it’s more than just lights. The Titan II switches are the highlight—smooth, fast, and consistent, with just enough resistance to feel solid without wearing you out. If you’re into competitive gaming, especially shooters or MOBAs, that quick actuation really does give you an edge. It’s not the loud, clicky type, so if you’re chasing that heavy mechanical “thwock,” this isn’t it. But if you want speed and precision, it nails it. The tenkeyless layout is a win for desk space. I like having more room for mouse movement, especially at low DPI. The aluminum top plate gives it a premium feel, even though the base is still plastic. It’s sturdy enough that I don’t worry about flex, but it’s not indestructible. The detachable USB‑C cable makes it easy to pack up if you’re moving it around, which is a nice touch. Customization is decent—hot‑swappable switches are supported, though swapping them isn’t as effortless as advertised. The per‑key RGB lighting is bright and clean, though you’ll notice some bleed between keys. The volume wheel is simple but surprisingly useful; it’s one of those everyday features you end up appreciating more than you expect. There are a couple of misses. No wrist rest included, which feels like a step back compared to earlier Vulcan models. And while the sound profile is fine, it doesn’t have that ultra‑solid acoustic dampening you’d get from thicker cases or gasket mounting. Still, the typing experience is smooth—no rattles, no spring noise, just clean keystrokes. Bottom line: the Vulcan II TKL is a strong value if you want a compact, responsive keyboard with a premium look and reliable performance. It’s not the absolute best in build quality or customization, but for the price, it covers the essentials. If you care about performance first and aesthetics second, this board feels like it was built with that mindset.

I really like how small and compact this keyboard is and that it has a number of features that really make it stand out to me. First is just the layout and the overall feel of the keyboard. The mechanical switches have just the right amount of stroke with the right amount of sound that's actually very satisfying to type on and use in gaming. It's an absolute pleasure to type on and is very responsive/accurate, and as promised I couldn't feel any ghosting or issues with keystrokes activating even in intense games where you're literally punching the keys to compete. For the HS (Hot Swappable) switches, I think that it's cool to have that feature on this keyboard should you wish to change some keys out to a different style. I don't know that I'd do that as I really like how this keyboard works/feels as it is but it's nice to know that you have that option and you can replace a key with one of the 3 extra keys that come with it which is super nice that they included with it. It has a volume wheel and function keys that you can customize or assign to pull up apps or specific things. I really like that the volume wheel has a push button so you can mute on the same control. The keyboard uses a USB-C cable and comes with a high quality braded cable to connect to your PC. The Swarm II software enables controls to customize your keyboard and function keys as well as the RGB lighting. I like the style of lighting these keys have and the colors do tend to look really good. In terms of overall experience, I'm really happy with this keyboard and when paired up with a Turtle Beach gaming mouse, the controls in the software make it super easy to customize both in the same place. I'd really recommend this one for these reasons, and the fact that it's small/light and packs a bunch of features in it when compared to other similar keyboards.

The turtle Beach Vulcan 2 TKL compact RGB mechanical gaming keyboard Is the perfect keyboard for the gamer with a stylish gaming space, but also where space is limited. Otherwise, I would recommend something that is a full size keyboard. That said, this is a pleasure to type on for a compact keyboard. The compact elements mean mostly just there is no number pad. I love the feel of these keys, their design, combined with the keys being lubricated gives them an incredibly great feel to type with, and a satisfying sound. When sitting at my desk, I find myself constantly fiddling with the The RGB lighting on the keyboard is very customizable, to fit with any mood or aesthetic and go great in any game room. One of the more interesting features is that the keys can be removed and other keys can replaced them, even third-party keys, giving you the most versatility I have ever seen in a keyboard. This is a great gift for a gamer, and a great keyboard for anyone looking for more than a basic keyboard.

Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Wired Compact RGB mechanical keyboard (what a mouthful of a name for it!) is definitely one of my favorites among compact keyboards I have already had experience with. I love it that it is Wired. In my gaming situation I do not need a lot of space or "freedom" of gaming, so a wired keyboard is always welcome. It registers every click and keyboard input instantly and its compact design makes everything look cool and tidy on my desk. There are so many choices nowadays and I can understand finding the right keyboard is pretty important to us gamers and productivity workers. This keyboard definitely checks a number of important "key" points for me. When you first open your new keyboard I am sure you always try to feel how the keys "feel" when typing or playing games. So my first impression was - Yes! I already like it. It is pretty smooth and quiet at the same time that brings that satisfying tactile feeling. Again, let me stress it, I am talking about my personal experience, as I know for some users this may not be the right keyboard. If you are into customization, this keyboard gives you a number of options to play with: from hot swappable switches to even compatibility with third party key caps (compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin switches). If you're using Turtle Beach's Swarm II software, you might be able to customize it further. I also like the knob on this keyboard as it serves as a multi-function media and system control dial, from simple volume control to Play/Pause. The knob is designed to give quick, tactile access to essential controls without needing to leave your game or app which I find helpful in my game play. After using it for a few weeks, I can assure you that this keyboard is well built for gaming performance and personalization. If you like modding, macro-heavy games or just want a quiet, responsive board with flair, the Vulcan II TKL definitely delivers. Check it out, play with it and see if this keyboard is for you. I believe it will serve well for many years.
