Poor customer service, wasted my time

I scheduled an appointment for July 5th. The confirmation email stated that they would call me the day before to confirm. However, as the day before was a holiday, they never called. At 8:00 AM on the 5th, I get a call telling me that the technician cannot make my appointment and that I have to reschedule. By this time, my husband has already taken the day off specifically for this calibration. The woman who called was not apologetic, understanding, or willing to work with us in any way. I told her I could make the following Monday work, but she informed me that the tech doesn't work on Mondays and that I would have to pick a different day. $250 out of pocket and a day off of work and I'm supposed to bend over backwards to accommodate their schedule? Completely unacceptable.

Would never recommend the hassle you have to go through to try and get them over to the house. It's been weeks now and I call multiple times they say to expect a call in 1-2 days for scheduling and I still haven't gotten a call. It will soon be a month. I'd hate for someone else to go through this nuisance.
This isn't the 1st time I've had issues getting a tv calibrated but this time its worst.
At least a courtesy call would be nice.
At least be warned is all.

Richer More True to LIfe Colors

My sister and I have the same Samsung Smart TV 46". I had mine calibrated and it's a noticeable difference. Her TV is bright and almost too bright--almost glaring-- like displays in the stores. My TV displays very rich true to life colors. Much better quality of colors. Highly recommend!

I cannot review the actual calibration service because I have been waiting 5 days to get an appointment scheduled with no luck. I have called customer service, the Geek Squad, and chatted online with agents. They all say the same thing: "It looks like we're unable to schedule any appointments, just like you are. Please try again in the next 24-48 hrs." or "I'm going to escalate this up to my supervisor and we'll contact you." This escalation has happened twice, and after BB gets back in touch with me, no appointments are available, and every day on the calendar is greyed out. I have wasted so much time trying to get an appointment set that I have given up.

Lowered Resolution on TV "AND" Blu-Ray Player

As Bestbuy Silver Premier member, after extensive procrastination and reading mixed reviews, decided to have my Samsung HD LCD TV Calibrated by Bestbuys Geek Squad. The Calibration includes two outlets, which in my case were the HDMI for the Samsung TV and a relatively new high end Sony Blu-Ray player. At the time of the calibration, it appeared ( key word being appeared" to be somewhat improved, but it's really difficult to tell in the middle of the day in a relatively bright room, but I felt it wasn't at least worst by the time the calibration was complete. After the technician left however, I checked the Reaolution on the TV, which is set up thru Comcast with a Comcast HD Box and half of the HD channels are now outputting at a lower level, not high definition. This is also the case with my Blu--Ray player which "now" outputs "NO" Blu-Ray DVD's in High Definition whatsoever! I've made several attempts to have this resolved by calling Bestbuy Geek Squad, yet all calls and request to come back out and at least set both my TV and Blu-Ray player back to their previous settings have gone unaddressed and unanswered. It appears the Geek Squad is absolutely not concerned in any way whatsoever. I wanted to at least allow a month or so, in order for them to respond even to the survey I completed after the service where I specifically requested that someone from their office contact me to resolve the issue, however I have received no calls or attempt to reach me whatsoever! I at this point, I would not only not recommend this to anyone, but would warn anyone who asked to simply stay away from having Bestbuys Geek Squad perform a calibration.

I received a free calibration for being a Premier Silver member.
My Samsung LCD now is truer colors than before. The Agent showed me the before and after results on a graph.
It wasn't until I started Sons of Anarchy the following day that I noticed how improved it really was.
A great value

I had my Samsung 7 series calibrated today. It was so worth the money. The tech. was very helpful in letting me know what was going on all the time. I even learned how to read what the numbers meant and what they needed to be. I would like to calibrate myself. The tech. was here for about 2 hrs. Took his time and did a great job! The tv looks a lot better. Well worth the money.

I was a little skeptical at first about this service, I know it was recommended by the associates but it seemed too costly. Later on I did purchase it for my gaming and movies and I love it. Could not say how much it improves the quality if you swap from before/after pictures.

I bought a Samsung UN60ES8000 from Best Buy and was told to have it calibrated by one of their employees. They told me I wouldn't be getting my bang for the buck on the TV if I didn't have it calibrated. I just had it calibrated and I can't tell a difference. I'm very disappointed. He calibrated it in Movie mode and after it was finished the Standard mode looks better. It would have been nice if he said it isn't worth calibrating for the money and I'm going to suggest you ask for a refund. But I guess they're trained not to suggest anything regarding a refund. It's very disheartening knowing I just threw away $250.00.

I read up on the isf calibration service before I went on and bought it and was convinced but when they came out to my house they were only here for a hour and they didn't even make to settings based on day time night time and when I was watching him do it he did the brightness and contrast with the USB camera that connects to the tv and he did everything else based on what he thought was good and when I purchased this at the store I asked the worker what if my tv resets or someone changes my picture settings he told me they will write down a written statement on what it was before and the calibrated settings after it's complete and it will be emailed to me and the guy that came out told me different he said we don't do that and don't let anybody touch your tv

Pre-Calibration Review

Bought the calibration plan last week through local Best Buy store and was asked what day we wanted the TV calibrated-scheduled for today (4/20). Called Best Buy to find out what the update was on having the TV calibrated today-they said the person who does the TV calibration is in another city and won't be able to do TV calibration for another 2 weeks. Very disappointed! Left TV on for 2-3 overnights to make sure the 100 hours of TV watching were complete as required for the TV calibration to be done today.
I also noticed the difference in prices of two TV calibration plans - one is $149.99 and the other $249.99 - what is the difference? (Paid for the $249.99 calibration plan). Bought the TV a little over a week ago.

I paid for this service and it seems nobody can schedule it. I keep getting told someone one will contact in next 24 to 48 hours. Best Buy keeps calling with message to go to website or call them to schedule. Website won'the allow me to schedule and then a call to Best Buy and they tell me the same thing.....wait for agent to call in 2r to 48 hours. Over and over it goes, when it stops (scheduled) nobody knows. Worst service i've ever had (or not had) had Best Buy.

I had an opportunity for a free calibration from Best Buy's Geek Squad. I had already tweaked the settings on my television and it looked pretty good to me. However, it still is not the same as a professional calibration, and since the service was free, I decided to give it a try. So after spending nearly an hour on hold, I got an appointment for a week later. The day before the appointment they call to confirm. Five minutes later they call to confirm again (why they called the second time is anyone's guess), both times assuring me that they will call when they are on their way the next day. The next day, they show up during the four hour window unannounced, which did not bother me too much. The agents seemed friendly enough, but then they walk over to my $850 television, and the first thing they do is shock it. I heard the bolt from several feet away! Talk about unnerving. While they navigated the TV service menu they explained what they were doing and put their fingers on the TV screen to point out exactly what they were talking about. My TV did not have the 200 hours break-in time that that they suggested, so they strongly encouraged me not get it calibrated until it does. Fair enough, but then the agent told me that when I reschedule I should call him directly, because he is the only agent with the newer, advanced, equipment that can make the display look better than the other Geek Squad agents. Seems a bit inconsistent for Best Buy to have some agents with better training and equipment than others. This means whenever you make an appointment for a calibration with Best Buy you are flipping a coin for the type of quality you will get. After they left I cleaned off the many fingerprints they had left on my screen. I do not think that I will reschedule the appointment, the TV looks fine to me with the settings I have already adjusted it with. It just does not seem worth the trouble.

I had a member of the Geek Squad come to my house to "fix" my TV and Entertainment center. Not only did he completely screw up my smart TV, blue ray and remotes, but he also screwed up my laptop b/c his wasn't working and he had to use mine. I am VERY disappointed and Best Buy won't do a thing about it! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I was excited to get this done for a long time. After technician finished with adjustments the picture looked awful. My settings looked better than his. When he finished with the calibration the color was way too intense causing facial tones to appear reddish. He spent a lot of time showing me graphs and explaining what they meant but who cares if the picture looks lousy. I ignore the two modes he set up and watch what I already had configured. I haven't complained to Best Buy yet but may ask for a refund or a recalibration.

I should have known this would have been a complete waste of time trying to schedule someone from Best Buy to calibrate my $5,000 ELITE PRO60X5FD. After reading all the reviews on home theater forums, the general consensus shows that anybody serious about home theater should never trust a Best Buy employee in their house. Review after review explains about the tardiness of their staff and sometimes staff never fulfilling their appointments. I'm a premiere silver member so this service would have been free, but I'd rather now spend $400 to have a real professional calibrate my HDTV to ISF standards. Appointment was scheduled for Saturday the 14th with a 4 hour window. I stayed home for these 4 hours, and no agent shows up. I called customer service and not only did they schedule the order incorrectly, they put it under the wrong email address. The agent that confirmed "This Saturday the 14th" actually put my order in for NEXT Saturday the 21st. Don't waste your time dealing with Best Buy. Do it right the first time and get a real professional company to do your calibration. Lesson learned...

Bought a flat screen for $300, then they ask for $250 for calibrating? LOL.
