Great for Traveling, When it Works

I travel quite a bit for work and personally, so keeping my Apple devices charged is important. I have a pair of Airpods Pro, 2 iPhone 15 Pros, and an Apple watch Ultra 2, which luckily all are Qi compatible devices. So I was naturally excited to try out a Qi2 Travel Charger that could fit in your pocket, but was pretty disappointed when I got the product. The USB cable provided is nice and braided, but I do not understand why for at this price point of $100, they do not provide a 30w adapter. Especially with how finnicky this thing is with the power it requires. The first device I had sent to me, like other reviewers have mentioned, would not charge my devices for more than a few minutes before stopping. This was incredibly frustrating when you would wake up to basically dead devices and have to go into work with that. I tried a myriad of power adapters while abroad with this device, nothing helped. I ended up in contact with their support team and had a new device shipped to me. I am glad to say that the new device seems to work consistently like I would expect. However, there seems to be some QA issues on this model if other people are saying the same thing. As far as charging times, it was nothing that blew me away. In about 30 minutes I went from 36% to 70% battery on my iPhone, but with my watch also charging that drops about another 10%. I am honestly not sure if this thing caps out at 30W and if using a 65W adapter would help, probably not as I am sure each is capped at 15w of charging power. Anyways, this could be a good charger if you get a good device and have a 30W type-c adapter you are willing to give up to power this device. But with possible QA issues, a steep price tag, and just your normal average Qi charging times, I don't think it is worth it. On sale? Sure.

I’ve been using the Twelve South - ButterFly 2-in-1 Charger in my office for a while now, and I have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, the design is sleek and compact, making it a great addition to my desk without taking up too much space. It’s also convenient to have a single charger for both my iPhone 16 Pro Max and Apple Watch Ultra 2. However, the charging speed leaves much to be desired. When I connect my iPhone 16 Pro Max directly to the wall outlet using this charger, it takes about 3.5 hours to go from 15% to 95%. This is quite slow compared to other chargers I’ve used. Similarly, my Apple Watch Ultra 2 takes around 1.5 hours to reach a decent charge, which is not very impressive. Given these charging times, I can’t say I’m very impressed with the performance of the Charger. While it looks good and is convenient, the slow charging speed is a significant drawback. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this charger to my friends, especially if they’re looking for something that charges their devices quickly.
