    600 wasn't enough. I installed 600 on my 9 foot Christmas tree and immediately wanted more. The lights are bright and spaced perfectly for a good coverage. 9 foot tree needs 1200 lights! These are so much fun to program and play with. Spent hours creating new looks. A must for any geek that likes to show off.

    Awesome lights!! we love the dynamic display and the total control we have. We can have them bright during the Christmas party and even twinkling rhythmically to the music which is just awesome and an added bonus and then we can have them dimmed down when we're relaxing watching Christmas movies together.

    Sold as NEW Sealed box contains junk, not Twinkly

    I finally opened my twinkly String & Music 600 today I purchased from BestBuy. After removing the cellophane 'sealed' wrapping, I cut the sealed tape which would normally open the box, then noticed the box and the inner box was glued together at every joint. Once opened I found a $5 string of lights and an assortment of junk (random power brick and a usb angle adapter). Notably not the $179.99 worth of Twinkly Products.

    At first was easy install, then tried to load on different phone didn’t work! Then tried previous phone also didn’t work, tried for 3 hours only to find out Twinkly had an outage! What, wait, if Twinkly is down I can’t control my Christmas tree! No thank you so I returned them

    Works well once set up; IOS DEVICE REQUIRED

    The effects are really nice and the 3d mapping works extremely well, once you get it set up. If you don't have an IOS device, do not buy. Luckily my girlfriend did(and I read this fact before buying). For some reason the mapping in their app will not work on Android.

    Fun, I used these lights on my Christmas tree. Just left it on the setting that rotates through green-yellow-orange-red from top of the tree to bottom with some bright white “sparkles” to make the tree look like it’s glistening a bit. Didn’t bother with the music matching because it wasn’t impressive the first time I tried it.

    Love these lights. Everything I’ve been looking for. Any color you want. Doing anything you want it to do. Dimmer is great. Mapping of the lights through the app is amazing! Just get them and don’t worry about that price ;)

    Still have these lights and we love them. The only down fall is if you have multiple strings it can be annoying to add them to the App

    Took some time after installing tondowload all updates, but absolutely love these lights. Way more than I planned to spend, but have had every single person that saw them rave about how awesome they look!

    It seemed like a fun product. It definitely worked. But, due to a mix up in what BestBuy would do for the installation, it was returned. It needs a special App to make it programmable. I could not begin to understand how to “program it.”

    Twinkly warranty support experience

    Twinkly customer support for a failed string is too complicated. Twinkly claims a one-year warranty period - but it takes significant user effort to access. When one 600-led string was unboxed and tested - it failed during the app-forced firmware update. The failure was such that none of the usual LED sequencing at power on occurred, and even the reset function did not restore normal power-on behavior or functionality. This failed state was obvious visually - and clearly a DOA/update failure case. We were also able to swap power supplies with another string to remove that possible failure cause. Based on this, we expected an efficient and quick warranty replacement process. The initial request for support ended after minimal interaction-stopped by a demand for purchase receipt that could not be provided immediately. Twinkly units don't have externally visible identifications to aid tracking, and the internal data available from the app is not supported as an alternative for age validation. Later contact with Twinkly support via email (once purchase was documented) involved a rather complicated exchange involving more than one video - and a twice-repeated request for data from their own app that was impossible to produce - because it was non-existent. The videos were not easily provided by email due to their size - so technical acumen beyond average was required on our end to edit and shrink the raw cell-phone video file. This exchange might be argued as reasonable for general diagnostic troubleshooting - but based on the specific facts of our case they were overly complicated and overbearing on us as users. Twinkly did promise to replace the string after the post-proof-of-purchase email exchange. My opinion now: It appears Twinkly does not have USA-based support (parts of email responses included Italian). There may have been some language or culture differences at work in this experience. The flavor of the interaction suggests the company culture includes an elevated level of distrust of customers. Even after providing a receipt more than one video of string behavior was required to document the failure. When a competitor to Twinkly products appears - product support can be a meaningful part of their competitive advantage. Twinkly could improve their support if they wanted to - technology and business practice offer excellent alternatives to their current practice.

      we tried to trace your support request, but we are not sure if we were able to find it, since we do not have all the relevant details.
      However, I can tell you that we generally replace all defective products under warranty (subject to verification of the purchase receipt and proof of the malfunctioning, as for any other shop).
      Please note that Twinkly does not require the customer to return the defective device for inspection, so our user satisfaction team must necessarily depend on the documentation provided by the customer to confirm the defect and activate the warranty replacement procedure.
      Clearly this requires more time, but it guarantees a comfortable service, since, as we said, the customer is not required to send the device back, but we rely on a simple, but thorough, remote inspection.

      Finally, keep in mind that the communication process is in English, as all our operators are native speakers, and that Twinkly is also based in the USA.

      In any case, the Support service remains available for any clarification or need. twinkly

    LOVE THEM. they are a bit bit spendy for something niche. But I don't care. we have left them up almost a year now. Changed the colors to match the time of yea.
