I think the product overall is great. The length of the cord at the end of the lights makes it easy to find a suitable outlet. The only downside is you can’t plug the lights into each other. For a need to use multiple strands, you have to consider extension cords to plug them in.

Product on its own performs as described. Trying to integrate it with an existing generation one product (Twinkly tree), is not so easily done. (I still have no success at this point). The product's website only offers pre-scripted q & a's. Still awaiting e-mail response from main site in Italy. Wil resubmit here, if that experience produces something informative or informational.

Love them. They are bright and exactly what we were looking for.

The effects are really nice and the 3d mapping works extremely well, once you get it set up. If you don't have an IOS device, do not buy. Luckily my girlfriend did(and I read this fact before buying). For some reason the mapping in their app will not work on Android.

Fun, I used these lights on my Christmas tree. Just left it on the setting that rotates through green-yellow-orange-red from top of the tree to bottom with some bright white “sparkles” to make the tree look like it’s glistening a bit. Didn’t bother with the music matching because it wasn’t impressive the first time I tried it.

Love these lights. Everything I’ve been looking for. Any color you want. Doing anything you want it to do. Dimmer is great. Mapping of the lights through the app is amazing! Just get them and don’t worry about that price ;)

Twinkly lights are my favorite because they can be used in any season. It is so fun to make your own light patterns!

First, I would like to say that the technology of this is quite amazing; however, not sure if this is quite ready for prime time. Let's start with the good. The fact that you can simply hang the lights however you like and then 3D map them is quite good. However, the bad is that the cord is a "Y" shape with 300 per side and no way to physically connect the lights to each other. Meaning, if you have multiple strings on a large tree you must connect each to their own individual outlet and run down the trunk. Next, creating the 3D mapping seems easy enough until you get to some of the effects that have distinct shapes (i.e. batman, countdown, santa, etc.) in which the system either puts the effects too low on the tree where you can't see them or in the case of the countdown puts it on the back of the tree. There is no way to define the "front" of the tree despite several mapping attempts and trying to use the advanced mode. Probably the biggest concern at the moment is after a MUSIC firmware update the device no longer works with music. The music driver settings were completely removed and replaced by ones that have no response to the music/sound in the room. It worked for the first 10 or 15 minutes until the software update. Overall, most of the effects are very impressive. The 3D mapping process is very sensitive to reflections in windows, and somewhat to the amount of light in the room. A great product with a lot of promise. Hopefully some software upgrades will address the shortfalls. Finally, do not expect to be able to make your tree just white. The diodes in the LED's are not equipped for this and the result is a very bluish white with not every LED bulb looking the same. It's pretty sad that a $250 light string can't perform basic white. You must get the "special edition" which I cannot see in the 600 just yet. This is a pretty big oversight in my opinion.

Still have these lights and we love them. The only down fall is if you have multiple strings it can be annoying to add them to the App

This is a must have for anyone with a Christmas tree. I don’t know how we lived without it. It’s soooo cool. Makes a huge difference and looks amazing in your house. This is a must have for sure!!

These lights have been the best lights we have ever owned. I highly recommend buying these. Just purchased more.

We used these lights on our house. Super easy to install and use the infinite functions/color patterns. We have not used the music feature. We replaced 3 changeable light strings with with this one 600 light string.

Took some time after installing tondowload all updates, but absolutely love these lights. Way more than I planned to spend, but have had every single person that saw them rave about how awesome they look!

Twinkly customer support for a failed string is too complicated. Twinkly claims a one-year warranty period - but it takes significant user effort to access. When one 600-led string was unboxed and tested - it failed during the app-forced firmware update. The failure was such that none of the usual LED sequencing at power on occurred, and even the reset function did not restore normal power-on behavior or functionality. This failed state was obvious visually - and clearly a DOA/update failure case. We were also able to swap power supplies with another string to remove that possible failure cause. Based on this, we expected an efficient and quick warranty replacement process. The initial request for support ended after minimal interaction-stopped by a demand for purchase receipt that could not be provided immediately. Twinkly units don't have externally visible identifications to aid tracking, and the internal data available from the app is not supported as an alternative for age validation. Later contact with Twinkly support via email (once purchase was documented) involved a rather complicated exchange involving more than one video - and a twice-repeated request for data from their own app that was impossible to produce - because it was non-existent. The videos were not easily provided by email due to their size - so technical acumen beyond average was required on our end to edit and shrink the raw cell-phone video file. This exchange might be argued as reasonable for general diagnostic troubleshooting - but based on the specific facts of our case they were overly complicated and overbearing on us as users. Twinkly did promise to replace the string after the post-proof-of-purchase email exchange. My opinion now: It appears Twinkly does not have USA-based support (parts of email responses included Italian). There may have been some language or culture differences at work in this experience. The flavor of the interaction suggests the company culture includes an elevated level of distrust of customers. Even after providing a receipt more than one video of string behavior was required to document the failure. When a competitor to Twinkly products appears - product support can be a meaningful part of their competitive advantage. Twinkly could improve their support if they wanted to - technology and business practice offer excellent alternatives to their current practice.

The best lights to create different graphics for Christmas display. Made a Christmas tree and it was the show stopper for Christmas. The app is easy to use and connect to the lights dongle.

LOVE THEM. they are a bit bit spendy for something niche. But I don't care. we have left them up almost a year now. Changed the colors to match the time of yea.

Works well. Highly customizable. The music dongle works well matching background music. Great selection of light effects but you can also create your own or customize the existing ones.

These lights are fantastic. The app controls are easy to use and the various patterns available are fun to try out. And you can edit many of them to customize them to your needs.

This is a great product if you are looking for a fun project. So many things you can do with these lights. Really makes a room pop, especially while music is playing.
