Twinkly lights are kind of expensive, but they are worth the price. You can arrange them any way you want, then the app can use your camera to figure out how the lights are arranged. Then you can program them to display a variety of different patterns, and they will do exactly what they should. I have several sets of Twinkly lights around my house, including on my Christmas tree. It makes it hard to take the tree down after Christmas because I so enjoy watching the lights.
