Lights randomly turned off one day. Unplugged/plugged back in, defaulted to it's base light scheme and not my custom one, couldn't be found on network. Attempted to reset them by following the reset guide by holding the button and plugging them back in, but that did not work at all - the led on the controller just flashed randomly and the lights never turned red. Lights are completely unresponsive at this point and cannot be reset with the controller. Also want to mention that in the past 6 months, at least a few times they would randomly disconnect from wifi and never reconnect and you would have to delete/set them up again. Very frustrating.

These LED lights are grate for like making designs on your walls TBH. Also maybe the only bad thing is that it’ll take your wifi space on your phone and instead of just turning it on, on the app

I bought this with the idea that I would create something cool on the wall and have it light up in a custom light pattern. I didn’t realize how short this is to create a custom design, so I will probably be buying a second one to complete that. But for now I’ve been using it to accent some photos and videos and it works out so well in that regard. I love the way this thing looks and I haven’t even mounted it on the wall yet. I have the same brand lights for my Christmas tree and the app makes it super easy to create custom light patterns.

The functionality of the app and the product are without a doubt amazing. The ability to customize the light and pattern is what I truly bought it for and it did not disappoint.

These are really cool. You can use then for anything. I replaced the neon tubes in a couple of designer end tables. You can then change the colors and themes using the app. Twinkly is a fantastic product and is so much fun it is addictive. When you buy one you will end up wanting more.

Love the lights but realize that 7ft isn’t as long as you think, so decide where to place first. Way too much cord and powersupply so hard to hide.

Are you someone who has admired at the Neon lights and wondered if you could setup similar lights at your home in the future. If so you are at the right place looking at the right product. This futuristic display is eye-catching with its spectacular design, seemless colors and smooth tube like lighting instead of individual lights makes this product really a great find with smaller areas of improvement needed. Pros: 1. Vivid seamless colors 2. Smooth tube like light rather than having separate led lights which makes it looks more classy. 3. Customization - Easy customization by using app. There is plethora of options and effects available within the app that we can use to play around with it that makes this LED strip super wonderful. 4. Mapping by using the camera within the app - Customize the specific effects in certain areas. One can create their own effects by drawing with the fingers on the mapped area and choosing between different options like sparkle, wide and thin gives lots of options that we can play around with. We can even add a playlist by choosing the time interval in min or seconds and choose our own effects that we created or choose from pre existing designs. 5. Templates are provided inside the box and by using them we can mapping out pre-made designs with corner pieces(help create round and right angles) and straight pieces (to hold it in place) with holes to nail them at right place. Or we can chooose to create our own design. Cons: 1. The Main drawback for me is that the LED Strip could have been a little bit wider. It is thin on the sides where there is light and the sides are wider. If the sides were little less wider i feel it would have been more beautiful and easy to install. I think the reason why they made the sides wider is probably to make the strip more flexible. 2. 7 ft looks a little shorter especially for people who have used the decoration lights in the past. 10 feet would have made it more apt to customize it with multiple designs. 3. 3M pieces are not that helpful for mounting. Better to go with the brackets and nails if you really are not worried about drilling holes on to your wall. But if you are someone who wants to keep changing the design very often or even once in a while you will be certainly upset as you will have to remove the screws and set it up all once again and you cannot do this with the 3M sticker as this LED strip does not go that well with the 3M stickers.

I've had about 4 LIFX z strips, 1 Hue, and a couple of low budget strips from multiple places. I thought lifx was cool, this light strip is AMAZING. BUY IT

These lights are more for decoration than room or boarder lighting (like around a desk). They come with preset templates for shapes (Christmas Tree, music notes, etc.) however you can make any shape you want length permitting. The strip does not hold its shape and needs the clips to anchor it to something (like a wall or sheet of cardboard, etc.) They are plug in only and not battery powered. They come with preset remote modes and additional modes and custom patterns are available thru the app. The strip was easy enough to plug and play out of the box with the standard remove features. I had difficultly connecting the app initially and required support from Twinkly. With a little effort I was able to connect the app using my wifi and open up all the other features for the lights. Way cooler, you have to use the app, the standard modes are boring. With some help from my daughter I scrolled thru most of the options and customizations. You have a virtually unlimited number of setups between colors, spacing, brightness, speed etc. You can also sync it to music. Once connected to the app you have to 'map' the strip (by taking a photo of the lights w/ your phone to sync them) Then you can use the many other preset patterns or create your own. If you change the shape your will need to re'map' them again. The music sync option uses your phone mic (so you cannot play music on your phone at the same time) to pickup sound from the room and 'blink' with the beat. The lights are cool. It would be good for a small Christmas tree or other shape decoration you could color pattern and sync to music for a party or just decoration. The length is limiting Also the mounting brackets may require putting holes in your wall which I am not a fan of for something temporary like this (why I am looking to try out heavy duty cardboard instead)

It is really cool, twinkly works great. Not as perfect as Hue lights do, but Hue lights can’t do what this can.

I like this light, much better than the light strips with the "dots". I use it for under the bar counter and along a stairwell. You can set up different patterns of color which was nice during the holidays. The light is very bright and it does work with Alexa (not sure about the other smart assistants).

One thing that a science fiction fan like me is extremely fond of is LED lights. Whether it’s the little LED lights on pretty much every gadget I own or the LED lightbulbs that have replaced all the incandescent and fluorescent tubes in my home, I love how they look and to me, it makes my house look very futuristic. I used to have rope lights that contained little neon bulbs but they were only one color, purple, and the neon bulbs were spaced about an inch between each pair. The effect looked more like Christmas tree lighting than a modern look that I always wanted. When I saw the Twinkly Generation II light strip by Flex I knew this was what I was waiting for. The Twinkly lights are perfect for lighting up a game room, living room, bedroom, or any room that you want. Personally, I wanted the Twinkly light to go around the black mica and chrome headboard of my bed to really give it a futuristic look. The colors are so cool, as well as cool to the touch, and can be controlled by a phone app, how much cooler can it get? Using the app, you can choose the colors that you want as well as the color pattern or sequence of light. You can choose from the selection of styles such as blinking or flowing that come by default in the app or you can download many different styles from within the app or you can create and edit the colors and effects that you want right on the app. The rubber strip that the LEDs are embedded in is extremely flexible and can be positioned into any kind of design you want. They give you paper templates that you can follow to create shapes such as a Christmas tree, a cactus, a musical note, and the word LOVE. You can of course create any pattern of light since you have 7 feet of rubber strip to work with. They supply you with little plastic mounts and corner mounts with screws and end caps to fasten the strip to the wall or whatever to create the masterpiece you always wanted. The Twinkly light strip connects to your phone via Bluetooth and can also connect to your home network via WiFi. You can turn on and off the Twinkly lights using the built-in controller or you can very easily set up your Smart Home Assistant like Alexa or the Google Assistant to control the lights using your voice. Although the Twinkly lights don’t natively support Homekit, there are videos on YouTube that explain how to do it and the app may be updated in the future to enable Siri support. There is also a feature in the app that will let you hold the camera up at your finished layout and you can map the effects right on the app. Setting up the Twinkly lights is very easy. You can download the app by just aiming your phone’s camera at the QR code in the manual. The manual which is written in 14 different languages (but since you are reading this, I think English will be fine) is very informative. If you require additional information, there is a pretty extensive help section in the app and also on their website https://www.twinkly.com. On their website, you can find additional lighting products to bring color to the rest of your house. You can join multiple Twinkly products together and using the Sync feature, you can create a group of lights that will sync them together to create an incredible light show. BestBuy has all the Twinkly products that you would need to create your masterpiece. As an add-on, they also sell a small USB device that will listen to whatever music you are playing in the room and synchronize the lights to follow the beat of the music. I love the look and the colors of the Twinkly light strip and will most likely get more for each room to make my house look magical.

This was the first light string I purchased after seeing the cool effect it gave at a bar/restaurant I dine in. Used it in my bar at home. Great soft lighting!

The ability to control these lights through google is amazing.
