Problems with connection

The only time it is somewhat reliable is when it is flat. And I bought it because I wanted a charger that allowed my phone to be upright so I can view easily. And sometimes it works with my cover on, sometimes it does not. I will be returning as I do not know if it is defective or it just doesn't perform like it was intended.
