Pencil Holder Problem

The pencil holder does not allow the iPad to lay down flat on the table. So, the iPad wobbles when you use it while in the case. Removing the front flap does not fix the problem. Stay away from this case!

This is a cover that unfortunately offers no real protection in the real world. After investing 3/4 of a grand on a great device, do yourself a favor and invest a few bucks to protect it properly. I suggest Otterbox.

The Apple technician ensured me this was the correct case for the new Apple iPad but it didn’t fit the unit. What a disappointment...

This broke within the first week. It fell apart, and there was no reason such as dropping it or pulling on it.

Managed to get one of the last (of the first) cases in blue. Despite purchasing Apple Care, I like to get a good case for my iPad that offers solid protection, but also allows for product-specific accessories. UAG had everything I was looking for, plus, I like the style of the case. It lets all 4 speakers be exposed, has a holder for the Apple pencil, fits the iPad Pro perfectly, and my personal favorite aspect...lets you take off its (admittedly excellent) front cover to attach a Smart Keyboard. The only thing that might be considered a con is the weight; it's not bad, but you'll definitely feel it. That's the price for good protection.

Nice, but no typing angle

I just purchased my iPad Pro 10.5" and the case options are pretty slim right now. Surprised that Apple has not released a silicone back for this model as I love it on my 12.9" iPad Pro. After looking at all the offerings at Best Buy, the UAG stood out. It has a pretty dramatic look and offers great protection and I like the thought put into the Apple Pencil holder - particularly the way the magnetic strap loops over it to give extra security. I am not sure if I will go with the Apple Smart Keyboard just yet but I normally like typing on the onscreen software keyboard. With the Apple Smart cover, the angle is perfect for typing but I was very surprised to see that the UAG has literally no typing angle at all! Sure, you can have the steeper viewing angles or you can lay it flat but that's no good on the lap. You can also fold up all the panels in sort of a mess to tuck under the top edge but it is so springy and wobbly, typing is difficult. Not at all stable like the Apple Smart Cover.
Overall, it is surprising for all the thought put into the details of this case, UAG failed to design a simple way to angle this case for typing. I have looked at their website and all over online to see if I am missing something or some way it is supposed to be used this way and there is nothing I can find.
If you want just good protection but limited functionality then this case is great but if you want to use the on-screen keyboard you need to find something else. Like I am looking for sill.
