I'm a die hard UFC and MMA Fan, so I was planning to buy this game regardless of what I heard. Initially, the reviews I saw online (I'm looking at you, IGN) were not positive and almost prevented me from spending the money, but my inner fan got the best of me. As a fan of previous EA fight games, like the Fight Night series, I really like this game. The stand up and boxing aspect of the game is a lot of fun and the ground game is really rewarding once you get the hang of it. I really enjoy the Career Mode, which takes you from the Ultimate Fighter through to the UFC. Each fight you earn Evolution Points, which you can use to upgrade different moves, like your kicks, punches, ground game, submissions, etc. You can also use Evolution Points to purchase and upgrade different perks for your fighter, such as the ability to not lose stamina quickly when you rock your opponent (referred to as "Health Events") or get rocked yourself. You can assign 5 different perks at once and you can level each perk up to a maximum level of 5. There are probably 30 perks to choose, so whatever style you want your fighter to be, you can make it happen. The fighter customization in terms of looks and fight style/gameplay style really are amazing. It's my favorite aspect of the game. The best part is that you don't need PS Plus or online access to take advantage of those features. However, if you have an EA Game Face, you can load your gameface on to your fighter, which is also pretty cool (and weird when you get knocked out). In the end, this game is well worth the full price. I've seen it on sale at Best Buy recently for $40, which is a great deal too. I highly recommend this game to fight fans and people who want to try a more "realistic" fighting game that doesn't play like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Nothing against those games, UFC 2 just has something different to offer.

Ok when i played the first ufc on ps4 i was amazed by the graphics but once i played the game the gameplay the fighters moved slow and felt weird and i traded it in the next day so one day i was thinking i wanted to try the new ufc 2 and see if they changed anything plus knockout mode was one thing i really wanted to play cause they said unlimited stamina meaning uour fighter never gets tired so i bought it and after playing it its a fun game dont get me wrong but first the career mode is missing things i dont understand why they dont have a story mode like fight night it would of been a great idea all you do on this one is just go from one fight to another you do train but once you get a A on the practice you can sim it so you dont have to do it which is a great though but if the career mode had more depth to it its like your just fighting for nothing you go 38-0 and only thing you get is the paid dlc for free thats right for free so dont buy mike tyson bruce lee and them cause they can be unlocked by completing the career mode if you go 38-0 but thats easy just if you bouta lose hit start then restart lol EA for got to take that off like they did on fight night and KO mode i thought was gonna be fun gets boring even putting the cpu on the hardest level you still whoop them. And the unlimited stamina i thought was on this mode nope your as you are swinging he will start going so slow hopefully they can fix alot on the next ufc 3 or go back to fight night cause that was a great game i would not pay 59.99 or even 39.99 this gane is a buy at the price of 19.99

For fans of all the combat arts and games. Great striking and a deep ground game that's accessible for a beginner but very difficult to master. Fight long and pepper your opponent with pot shots or bite down on your mouthpiece and run through them. The stand up accommodates any playing style just be mindful of gassing yourself out. the ground game is all about stamina and timing. Watch your opponents movements to deny their transitions and work for nasty submissions or old fashioned ground and pound and watch their head bounce off the canvas. Online modes offer ranked and unranked matches and Ultimate Team, a create your own team of fighters fighting for performance coins that are used to purchase attribute, move and fitness cards. Also in the mix is the new Knockout Mode which eliminates grappling and submissions for players who just want to throw hands. Amazing graphics and immediately accessible gameplay that's a lot deeper than it appears.

    Will Grappling Ever Win Out?

I had high hopes for EA UFC 2. I'll say that it could be worse, but the game is lacking in some very important areas. The first is in its gameplay: striking is fun, boasting spectacular animations and bone-crunching hits, but the sheer number of flush shots an opponent can endure is maddening. The ground game is something that I avoid like the plague, because the grappling system is unclear on how to perform reversals and blocks or when to properly execute them. The lack of a tournament mode, something that seems both simple to incorporate and a mandatory addition to and MMA game, if for no other reason than to pay homage to the MMA of old, is unforgivable. This game is fun to pop in and play for 20 minutes or so in 1v1 matches with the computer or to mess around on with friends, but that's about it as far as my uses are concerned.

First UFC game despite being a fan of the sport, so I cannot speak to the gameplay versus previous versions. UFC2 has a relatively steep learning curve, as the leg kick/takedown/ground and pound approach will get you to the Top 20 in career mode but mastering the submission game appears to be key to the next level. By far the most fun to be had here is to get a group together and just pound away at one another...with the excellent graphics and unbelievable range of fighters and moves, there is a lot of fun to be had (nothing better than a knockout with two seconds left in a fight - you are probably losing on the scorecard - with your teenage nephew that lives on modern day games! Looking forward to playing on-line, though I am not finding the gaming packs to be terribly intuitive.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but there is far too many things wrong with it, preventing me from not returning it. Which I did today. Grappling Is a huge part of the sport and granted it is very intricate and very hard to replicate but both of EA sports attempts at creating it have failed tremendously. Undisputed 3 is still the best UFC game made to date in my mind. The best thing about this game is the graphics and presentation of fighters. That's great and all but I'm pretty sure nobody pays for the real pay per view events to watch fighters walk to the ring get rubbed down, and then introduced. I'm sure they'll try again in another few years, and I'll be there patiently waiting to see what has improved. But if they lay another egg I'll just shake my head and return it like I did with this one.

This game is a step in the right direction for UFC, with added features and more realistic and rather impressive physics, but I feel like the ground wrestling portion is lame and completely takes you out of the otherwise fully dynamic fighting. It simply puts you on the ground with the opponent and prompts appear telling you what you can do (or you can disable prompts, but the gameplay remains the same), and you have to hold a stick in a certain direction for a certain amount of time to "activate" a move, making things very slow and tedious, instead of fluid and dynamic. The graphics are great, the physics are great, the on-foot gameplay is much improved, but the ground fighting is very weak. I would still recommend it to UFC fans, but be wary of the negatives.

I have played UFC 2009, UFC 2010, EA MMA, EA UFC, and now EA UFC 2. I stand by the fact that I think they went so far away from what made UFC 2009 so great. I feel like there isn't a real way to enjoy the story mode. For crying out loud, I'm just over here trying to have a decent run to start out in the UFC and I go from facing a homeless man they brought in from outside the arena, to facing Rumble Johnson. Things escalated very quickly. I don't like that even on a low difficulty the game is still ridiculously hard to play leisurely. Graphics are pretty solid, announcers are as annoying as they always are, and I haven't touched this since a couple days after I purchased it. Maybe I'm just not hardcore enough.

This was the first UFC game to bring the "ultimate team" feel that EA has going in other sports games. I spend most of my time immersed in that mode creating characters, applying movesets, and playing against other people. The system matches you against others of equal skill after a few matches, and it's a lot of fun. I especially like being able to play out your predicted outcomes of upcoming UFC fights for bonus rewards. Even with the release of the most recent UFC 3 title, this remains my favorite MMA game on the market.

Im a HUGE ufc fan, and EA just cant bring back the greatness of the ufc franchise like THQ did. Its better than the last EA UFC game, but thats not saying much. Its fun to play with friends, but career mode is the worse career mode by far. Online is ok. They did add a cool feature which is based on the current events and you choose who you think is going to win and how. They you try to do it in the game and wait to see the real outcome of the live event. You earn coins towards your ultimate team which that mode is kinda cool. Over all the game looks great, plays better than last years but they still missed in several areas. Oh and the ground game is a circus.

While my boyfriend loves playing this game on the regular basis because of the great graphics and UFC style fighting, it is also fantastic to have on hand when you get into a fight with him. Instead of him flipping out on you and being annoying, he can pop this game in a beat the living daylights out of UFC characters for hours. Reducing his frustration cause you couldn't decide where to eat for dinner and preventing real life hand to hand combat in your living room. It's a win-win!

EA's UFC 2 is a fun game but lacks the features that normally come with EA's combat sports game. (Like UFC and Fight Night) There is no customization of fighter gear, its the same shirt and hat after every fight, its the same shorts every fight. Black White or the flag of where you are from. The Graphics are great. It is a beautiful game. My favorite part is the soundtrack. It is a banging soundtrack. Gameplay is fun but can be seem slow and a little sluggish but it can explode just like a real fight. Tips for new players, FInish the Fight

Ufc 2 is an improvement on everything the last one had. It gives you more options in game modes and better tools to learn your game. Practice makes perfect and you need to on this game. Highly dislike the new format for clinch and grappling. Depending on what position you're in you have 1-4 options, and just press the sticks in a direction and hope the circle fills up, which leads to the desired transition. Although i dislike the new ground system, this is still a great game to play if you are a ufc fan

The guys enjoy watching the fights when they are all together. This is an extremely reasonably priced gift especially considering I needed to purchase several of them: for ages 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19 and 41! This is something that my 41 year old brother can do with all of his nephews even though they are all at different households. One of my son's is in the army and he can get on line and play too. It's perfect to keep them connected to each other.

Without playing a UFC game since UFC Undisputed 2009, I feel similarities between the two. Between my experience with that game and Fight Night Round 4, I was able to pick UFC 2 up and get a feel for the controls almost immediately. It was almost muscle memory, between the strikes, blocking system, and takedowns. If you've played these games before, nothing is really new. There are a lot of modifiers, which make the game hard to master, but you can pick-up and play immediately, and have a lot of fun.

I'll admit, I prefer boxing to MMA, but with no boxing games out this was my only choice. I played the demo of the first game and wasn't too impressed. This game is really fun and has actually made me appreciate the sport of MMA. The controls arent too overly complexed, so an hour or so and you'll be good. What's good is that, if your like me and enjoy boxing, it offers a Knockout mode where there are no ground takedowns or submissions. Just punches and kicks. Tons of fun to play with a friend.

I had UFC for the ps3 ao was excited to get this for the ps4. First few days it was difficult adjusting to the game. After the 3rd day I got the hang of the controls and the game became super addictive. I say learn the grapple game and submission game because simply kicking or punching continuously leads to tiredness and fatigue which then makes your player susceptible to a big knockout blow. I love that about the game. I keep fatigue on. If you want a realistic fighting game this is forfor you.

My brother and a friend really enjoy this new version. Playing head-to-head on Friday nights, this game is a lot of fun. Learning the patience of blocking shots, watching the fatigue bar, then attacking to see if you can end the match quickly. Or, you may have to back up, rest and go through it again. Different fighters have their own special hits/kicks. All 3 of take turns with different fighters from the different weight classes and have some really good fights!

Gameplay heavily resembles real UFC fights. The player can select from over 250 fighters and may customize various aspects of the fight, such as the rules. The fighter can perform an array of attacks, such as kicks, punches, grapples, submissions, and takedowns. The player can fight in a variety of game modes, including the career and ultimate team modes. The player can create customizable fighters and the game features both male and female fighters.

As a UFC fan I was excited to get this game. While the game play can be a bit choppy with the movement at times, the graphics are awesome. The career mode is where it's at, build your fighter from the ground up, and the game takes you along slow to build not only your skills but the fighters. It has all of the big name fighters, fight whoever you want, even the current UFC main events. Have not played against someone in 2 player yet but it should be great.
