It is a loud sound speaker without distortion. The sound is not as good as Bose though. Overall I am pleased with it. Was a little pricey.

This thing is loud… like really loud. I’m just going to say that I love this thing and my review is probably going to reflect that a little too much. So now onto what it is. I guess you could call it a basic Bluetooth speaker but that would be underselling it by quite a bit. For me the audio clarity and range of this thing are incredible. Yeah it’s not surround sound but most people don’t have surround sound to compare it to and if you really want more full than this offers you could just pair two of them together (which I would love to try but I don’t have the budget for that). I could try to go on about the sound quality, but I won’t do it justice, so suffice it to say that it is more than acceptable. As for the volume, I have a 2700 square foot house and at 60% volume I can easily understand and hear it acceptably throughout the house and at 100% volume our neighbors can hear it very well as well. So perfect for the cul-de-sac party. I will say that when I had it on thick carpet at 100% volume, there was buzzing, on thin carpet and hardwood that disappeared… No lost points for that in my book as 100% volume could be felt from the other room. Now with that out of the way onto the usability of this thing. There are four inputs and a USB output. When I say USB output that is what it is, it is to charge your device, not another input. So, this thing is a giant battery pack in a pinch too. There are two separate Bluetooth connections, one aux, and one optical input. The first use I tried it on was on my mobile projector using the aux cable, If you need something loud and mobile this is the device for you, the aux worked great. Optical worked as well. Bluetooth was interesting, it is absolutely wonderful in quite a few ways but interesting in others. First, it supports more than two devices connected but I don’t really have the need for that and more than two will disconnect one for the other to connect. The real difference is the two separate Bluetooth input options. That is amazing. I have my wife’s iPhone on one input and my Android on the other input. That is where I noticed some interesting differences. There is a one touch music setup where if it will start playing your favorite playlist as soon as you hit the center button on the hyperboom. A nice feature if it had the right options. For my android phone the options where Deezer, Spotify, or amazon music; for my wife the options were Deezer, itunes music, or amazon music. The only issue is she uses Spotify and I use Google Music so neither of us got the option we wanted. I’m not sure why Spotify wasn’t an option for her but that was the only thing that I wasn’t thrilled with this thing. So, I didn’t mess around with the one touch feature very much. Where it got really nice was actually using it the app to mess with the speaker. I can turn this on with Bluetooth. To reiterate, when the hyperboom is powered off and I am too lazy to get up to turn it on, I can turn it on from my app via Bluetooth. I have never had a Bluetooth wireless only device with that capability and I was way more excited than I should have been when I found that out. So my wife that is not always the most technology literate (she is smarter than me, she just doesn’t care about technology) took a bit to get the whole speaker on the projector thing and would text me while I’m working in the garage or in my office downstairs and say the sound isn’t working… I would open the app, change the audio source from whatever my one year had gotten it onto or turn it on as necessary from across the house downstairs. It is indescribable how cool that ability is and to add to it that I am able to switch sources without loosing my connection to it and she was able to finally learn about the app to do the same and me not loose my ability to connect to it as well is just insanely awesome. Buried in that last paragraph was the fact that the 150ft this thing claims to connect from isn’t lying. I failed to connect to it once when I was out front, when I shut the garage door, so that is one exterior wall, about 100ft to the back of the house, and through another interior wall, and up a floor. I was more surprised that I was still connected to it than the fact that it disconnected. But working in the garage I had a rock steady connection. Lastly, I will cover the voice assistant, there isn’t one. The mic on here is for it to sense EQ levels (which are adjustable in the app by the way), not voice calls or anything like that, so if you are looking for a ‘smart’ speaker… put a dot on this thing? But if you are looking for incredible sound quality and some intelligent decisions on the input and interaction with the speaker via the app, and semi portability (battery, but not the lightest device, nor the smallest) than this is the speaker for you. Pros: - Long battery life - Input options - Bluetooth connectivity range - Audio quality - Audio volume - App interaction and capabilities (public share and other features I haven’t had the opportunity to try) - USB output for charging your phone - water resistance (don’t spray it with a high-pressure hose or throw it in a lake) - Carrying handle (nice thick rubber that is comfortable) - Looks Cons: - One touch music app choices (unless you use one that they have) - Weight (13lbs, I don’t mind at all but if you are P.S. It only includes the power cord, if you want the other cords it is bring your own cord (BYOC?), which is somewhat a given but I figured I’d call it out just in case anyone was wondering. Overall, I would definitely recommend this device.
