Customers are saying

Customers recognize the HYPERBOOM's exceptional sound quality, encompassing rich bass and impressive volume, even at high levels. Its long battery life and portability are also frequently praised, making it ideal for various settings. However, some find the speaker's weight and price to be drawbacks. The positive feedback on sound quality and battery life significantly outweighs concerns about weight and cost.

At first this speaker was amazing and we were excited. The sound was good and worked well. After 6 months or so the speaker would randomly disconnect. It also refused to connect to any device.....or it would connect then immediately stop playing music. Thankfully we already buy the replacement plan and took it back.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you had some complications with your HYPERBOOM Portable Bluetooth Party Speaker. We are always looking for ways to improve our products, so we appreciate your review. The disconnection you were experiencing could have been from a update that was needed via the Ultimate Ears app OR a manual reset on your speaker would have rebooted it. Wish I could have connected with you sooner and guide you through the troubleshooting. I hope this information was helpful. If you ever have additional feedback or questions regarding Logitech products, feel free to visit https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us Thanks, -Logitech

For some reason this thing sounded great at the store but when I got at home, it did not sound good at all. So I returned it and bought to Sonos era 100s. Which is awesome. Great base but not enough vocals

    Loud speaker with good bass

Pros: Portable Good volume Good bass Covered ports Cons: Heavy Initially sounded off without using the app This speaker can really get loud. The bass works very well and if you use the app the sound can be modified to your liking. The app takes a bit to get used to but works well. It's a little heavier than I anticipated but the size is nice enough that it's still portable. We have another smaller speaker from the same brand and the app let's the two connect and be used together which is a great added bonus. The dust proof and waterproof aspect are great as my husband likes to use this while working in the garage and I don't need to worry about it getting ruined. The port to plug your phone or charger in are also covered by a nice thick piece to protect it.

Hi DaNabors, thank you for sharing your experience with the Hyperboom! I'm sorry that it suddenly stopped work on you. You can try and do a reset on the speaker by pressing the Power button and the Source button on the top of the speaker at the same time for 8-10 seconds. This will do a soft reset and can sometimes clear up the issue. If you need additional support with the Hyperboom please visit https://support.ultimateears.com/en/hyperboom/ for information. Thank you for being an Ultimate Ears customer. Kristi from Logitech

The speaker has quality sound and a lot of bass that’s why it does get a few stars even though I am not happy that for the price it doesn’t get very loud. I had it poolside in corona California on a sunny day got in the pool when I got out the tub was all deformed from the sun. Not waterproof nor sun proof smh your do better

Hello, I am sorry to hear what happened with your speaker. I am sorry if there was any confusion regarding the speaker, it is splash proof and we do not mention being sun proof. But it does come with a 2 year warranty, you can make a claim and see if the sun damage is covered in the warranty. Here is the warranty page for the speaker: https://support.ultimateears.com/en/limited-hardware-warranty/. I hope this helps! Thank you taking the time to write this review, we appreciate the feedback.

      Hey Mando!
I'm sorry to hear you aren't completely satisfied with the volume level of the Hyperboom. This is surprising though, as the Hyperboom is our loudest speaker in the Ultimate Ears family! I believe this could be a software related issue which is solved by resetting the speaker. You can do this by holding the power and play/pause buttons for 5 seconds till you hear a chime, then you'll need to pair your device to your Hyperboom again. Also, make sure to download the Ultimate Ears mobile app to adjust volume and EQ as well! If you have any further issues, you can always reach out to us on our Hyperboom support page here https://support.ultimateears.com/en/hyperboom/

    Party Up Doesn't Work

I don't understand how anyone can say that these work in party up mode. I purchased two and you get constant skipping, popping, and dropped connections when you pair them together. I have been trying for days to get them to work consistently but it seems impossible. They can be literally right on top of each other and you will still get bad connections. If you only connect one it seems to work fine, but as soon as you add a second they are both useless. I have an $80 pair of Oontz Angles that pair together flawlessly and never drop a connection. It can't be environmental interference if those speakers work fine. Meanwhile this $900 pair of speakers doesn't work at all. Now I just have to decide whether I return them both or keep one.

    Near Perfection

The UE Hyperboom is by far my most favorite Bluetooth speaker. Lots of solid Bass, clear Mids & Highs. It has a very well balanced sound. My co-workers felt like they were in a nightclub when i played music on it at work. With the Ultimate Ears app, you can boost the Bass with the EQ. Well worth the $450. The Hyperboom has made my favorite Bluetooth speaker the Sony SRS XG500 now my 2nd favorite, since the Hyperboom now took the top spot. The Sony SRS XG500 is also large portable speaker that sounds Awesome, it's just too big. The Ultimate Ears UE Hyperboom: (Pros) - Small for a large BT speaker, beautifully well balanced sound, great battery life, big fully rich sound in a small package, carrying handle, great simple to use app, pretty quick charging, simple to use controls, pretty much loud enough for a small party. (Xons) - Kinda Heavy, no IP67 rating, not waterproof, no USB type C support. Overall it is near perfection for a BT speaker. Great portability, great battery, big beautifully rich sound, at a fair price. I will definitely get another one for pairing & boosting my overall sound experience. Go get one, if you haven't yet, i recommend it.

Not nearly as loud as we hoped, even inside in a room, it wasn't enough. Haven't tried it outside yet, but I assume it will be less performance in a larger open area. Controls are a bit wonky, not clear.

Hi, we're sorry to see you're having some audio issues with your Hyperboom Speaker. If you haven't already, please make sure the speaker is updated to the latest firmware via the Ultimate Ears Boom app for the best user experience. Also when playing music on it, please make sure the volume is turned up on the streaming device (phone, tablet, computer). Hope that helps.

Pro: -Battery life -Room filling audio -Input types, 2 Bluetooth, Optical, and Aux -USB charge port Con: -Price -Lose sound details at louder levels -Touch buttons for volume can be hit and miss This speaker is impressive. It’s portable, albeit a bit heavy, and simple to set and use. The sound quality is amazing for such a small speaker and easily fills a room with full audio. The controls are simple and straightforward, with only the touch sensitive volume control being the minor critique. You have to hit it right in the middle of the “+” and “-” symbol. Having the various input types is great for an impromptu viewing and gaming sessions. There’s also a USB charging port for your phone. The battery life is impressively long. Having used it for 3-4 hours daily for a few days, the battery is still at 70%. The up to 24 hour claim seems to hold true. For filling a room with music, this is excellent. It can get real loud with a good balance of bass. It does loose some audio details at higher volumes, and definitely prioritizes volume over clarity. The softer instruments will get lost within its own loudness and bass. This is a party speaker, so it isn’t really suited for audiophiles listening for subtle nuance of the instruments. Using it in a closer proximity, such as using it as PC speakers or for a TV in a smaller room, it can almost replace a decent soundbar. The sound quality is better, but you lose some sound direction due to the speaker placement and size. I tried hooking it up with my PS4 and it’s a decent gaming experience and probably good for on the go.

Having owned many bluetooth speakers in the past I was quite surprised by the quality of the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom party speaker. Upon removing it from the box you can tell how well its built just by the weight of the speaker. Pairing both my iPhone and Pixel 3a to the speaker was uneventful and quite easy. You are able to easily pair 2 phones to the speaker and toggle between them just by hitting button You don't need to download the app in order to simply play music however you truly do not unlock the true potential of the speaker without. The speaker also has a USB out so you don't have to worry about your phone dying. Inputs on the speaker include bluetooth as well as a optical in and AUX in. The optical in port worked well during testing with my samsung tv The speaker came with a 30% charge in it so I was eager to see what it could do. The bass this thing outputs is enough rattle a few windows. The adaptive equalizer settings and preset modes for gaming, bass boost and podcast do a great job maximizing what you are listening to. The battery life on this thing is amazing. You will easily get a full 24 hrs on the battery when it is fully charged. These days since the kids are home from school and most of their activities are cancelled they enjoyed having a dance party in the backyard with the speaker. The speaker is definitely splash resistant because it did get splashed quite a bit as the kids jumped into the pool. The speaker also integrates a carry handle into it so it is easy to carry around. The silicone feet on the bottom also prevent it from rattling on the table for bass heavy music and they also add to the speakers overall stability. Overall I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a easily portable powerful bluetooth speaker
