When I heard this speaker inside the store...it blew my mind. I bought it for Christmas (got it late) and set it up asap. I was so disappointed. They have the store model set up with much better/louder sound. This speaker is NOT loud. The first time I turned it on at the store, it scared me! Now... at max volume I'm having conversations a few ft away with no problem. Thought I had a 30 day return. Wrong. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive speaker that I prefer less than my sound bar. Aside from volume, the speaker has decent highs, some bass, but could use more mid range. Overall, its just a bluetooth speaker that is WAY overpriced. Do yourself a favor and enjoy it in the store, save your money!

I purchased a renewed JBL Boombox 2 unit off Amazon without being able to listen to all of them (reviews only). I second guessed the Boombox 2 vs speakers like UE Hyperboom, JBL PB100/PB300, etc... I went to Best Buy and they had them all. I wanted totally portable and that kind of ruled out the party boxes. They sounded maybe a hint louder than the BB2, but not really better sound accuracy. The Hyperboom sounded pretty good in the store and I ordered one. I then picked it up and used it vs the BB2 going back and forth. My Wife also said the BB2 just sounded better... highs, mids and of course bass. The Hyperboom goes 50-18k and the BB2 goes 45-20k. It's on YouTube in sound testing which proved out to our ears. The Hyperboom was returned and we kept the BB2. It's the better portable speaker regardless of some YouTube reviews. Sound reviews show the Hyperboom 1dB louder and much less low range and not as much top. The 1dB louder Hyperboom loses out in the more critical areas of sound quality and accuracy.

For the price, not loud enough and not waterproof enough. It keeps cracking and skipping like it doesn't have a good Bluetooth connection. Even though my phone is 1 foot away. I have two (one was a gift) and they both have the same problem. But it does have great bass, good battery life, and good Bluetooth range.

The idea of chaining multiple audio devices via bluetooth on a phone app is amazing. This idea comes true with UE's ecoysystem of speakers that can chain with the Hyperboom (eg Megaboom). However, the dream in reality is not perfect. On a Google Pixel 6 XL and iPhone 14 Max, no matter what I do, I hear static and there's unbearable lag; I thought it was one phone (eg iPhone misbehaving because they deliberately mess things up to force you into their ecosystem of products), but it's not; my Android phone is an old phone and has only the bare minimum apps (so it's not some other misbehaving apps). So, I'm not sure if it's a firmware thing or not (oh, and don't search for how to update the firmware, the "More" button on the app doesn't exists and is reported in the wild). Anyways, after 1 Hyperboom ($400) and 4 Megabooms ($200 x 4) later, I would not recommend this product ($1,200 fiasco). Great idea; bad execution; horrible support would be tolerable but "no" support is unbearable. I'll wait until I have more gray hairs and cash to see if anything from UE that is worth it; but this product and company has lost my trust.

I was so impressed with this speaker in the store. It was loud and very clear. I bring it home and it was not loud at all. I will be returning it in the morning. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Best feature is the ability to turn on and off with the app

App is completely worthless. I have spent thousands on UE speakers and will never buy anything Logitech ever again im not sure what joke of a developer they hired to create the UE app but its a joke and they should be fired yesterday. Ive owned the speakers for years and the app has never improved its only ever got worse. The app is going to prevent me from purchasing any other UE or Logitech products. They are impossible to get ahold of to find out whats going on with the app. Filing a complaint against the company to try to get some sort of resolution. I do not recommend this product to anyone.
