I bought the last one available on the Fort Lauderdale store. I was so thrilled with the sound and ease of pairing with Bluetooth that I ordered three more. The ap can be a little quirky in connecting the additional speakers but there is a mode in the party up option that makes it easier to connect a group of speakers. The sound is bright and clear, plenty of volume and battery life is great. Love the ability to move them easily from room to room or out on the patio. I wish UE would produce a companion wireless subwoofer for more base.

I got this for my son this past Christmas. He is really into music and has a great ear, so he is picky about how things sound. He researched and thought this was going to be the best wireless bluetooth speaker based on many reviews. All I can say is WOW. The speaker is tremendous, sound is incredible, full and the 360 surround makes a big difference in an open room. The only thing I can relay thats a challenge is finding the charging cord from the box..LOL. But once you do find the charge cord, since it is bright neon green/yellow, you'll have a hard time losing it. The unit costs a bit more than some others, but for his taste and the quality it puts out, its certainly well worth it. I would probably buy another one for myself.

I bought the speaker at Black Friday (2018) for $99. I had thoroughly researched speakers. My criteria were quality and long bluetooth range. This speaker has been excellent. It is very loud and easily pairs with my Apple products. The bass is good and you can get a UE Boom app to adjust sound, power, and other speakers. It has a long battery life (it is supposed to be 20 hrs) and plays while charging. A battery light goes on to alert a low battery. It is very portable and easy to carry. I am exceptionally pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Best Portable Bluetooth Speaker

This is easily the best portable Bluetooth speaker under $300. The last one I had was a Bose Sounlink mini and the Megaboom is ten times better, the sound quality, volume and battery live are just awesome. I use it with my iPhone and the app enables you to setup the speaker as an alarm and tweak the sound using the equalizer. Over the Fourth of July my brother was in town with is Megaboom and we were able to double them up for full stereo sound. We took them to the lake and didn't think twice about them getting wet. One of the reasons I wanted this speaker was to be able to use it at the pool or lake and not worry about damaging it. Bestbuy price matched Amazon's price which is an added bonus.

Good portable product but not enough boom

Great size, Pretty Loud but not enough "Boom" for my taste. Returned this and went with another brand NYNE. Not as portable as this but I really like some bass in my music. I think this was just as good as my Jawbone Big Jambox when first new in terms of sound quality. I do like that this is water resistant and can get loud with it's 360 sound but I just wasn't blown away. Thus the Average 3 star rating from me. It really boils down to how you like your music. I wanted small with some thump and this didn't deliver. There is an app to adjust settings but it didn't help still. The idea of adding a secondary UE Boom through the app is cool too but the bass was a deal breaker. I'm not asking for obnoxious room rattling, but something...ya know?

I compared the JBL Charge 3, JBL Extreme, UE Boom2 and UE Megaboom as well as others. Both UE's have better overall sound than the JBL's (and I prefer the JBL brand name over any other) but the UE Boom2 lacks bass. The UE Megaboom to me is the best of all (including Bose soundlink) because the sound is superb, the bass very good and the UE app is the best, plus you can link so many of these UE's all together. Also what sets it apart from Bose is that the UE is waterprood and pretty much rugged/ indestructable, take any where with no real concern. And thanks to God the sale price I paid was beyond amazing! Thanks to Best Buy also for their excellent services!

Does NOT work with the UE Roll as of 12/2016

Actually, I like this device, but it was purchased to work with a UE Roll, which it did until the latest firmware update. Logitech decided to pull the rug out from under all the "mixed speaker" users. This device no longer works with the UE Roll. As for the Boom, buyer beware. Logitech can ruin your day with the next software release. I just spent a hour with their tech support. Conclusion: "Tough, you can't roll the update back and we're not changing it." Don't you hate it when a respected company leaves you out in the cold with an update and doesn't care.

I've had plenty of Bluetooth speakers over the years that I use at home, but mostly on my construction jobs. For the size, this so far is the loudest one, with a very good sound when it also comes to base. It's also waterproof, so I don't have to worry when I'm constantly outside. It doesn't have a mic, like most of my other speakers had,but never the less,it's a great buy,and I would recommend it to others.Btw,they just came out with the newest model, the Megablast, that claims 40% louder ,and has Amazon Alexa built in (So here is the mic now). It's a little thicker and higher than the Megaboom. But I'll stick with mine for now,'cause if it ain't broke, don't fix it,right?

A great replacement for my Beats XL

I had a Beats pill xl. Apple bought it back and I went for a UE Mega Boom. The sound is great and I'm not afraid to hurt it. I don't rough house it or put it underwater or anything but if it tumbles off of the backyard table and hits the ground just pick it up and put it back on the table. My xl had a dent in the grill after that. The Mega boom is sturdy and it fills my my little get togethers with enough sound. Using the iPhone app Im able to set my sound the way I like. highs boosted med bass lightly cut and the low end pushed up. Sound quality about 95 percent of the xl. 500 percent in sturdiness of the xl. This can also go Stereo and if all goes as planned I will be able to tell you more about stereo use after my birthday.

I read tons of reviews online before purchasing the UE Megaboom. I love the device. It's very simple to use and the sound is great. The bass is a bit lacking, but it is sufficient enough. My favorite feature is the low energy Bluetooth option available through the app. You can turn on the speaker with the app, which is awesome if you're lazy and don't want to walk over to the speaker to turn it on! The app has lots of other features as well. The ability to "double up" is nice. If you pair two of them together the sound is 10 times better, plus you can set them to play in stereo. I think the speakers are definitely worth a couple hundred bucks, three hundred is a bit salty in my opinion, but I am still happy with my purchase.

I bought this speaker for two reasons, 1) to take on a camping trip and have around the house and 2) to mount on my motorcycle so I can listen to music while I ride. On the camping trip, the we went tubing down a river and the speaker was splashed at times, but never had a problem. Furthermore the speaker held up for an entire weekend with only one charge. As for loudness, I am able to hear the music playing while going 50mph on my motorcycle rather clearly. I could still faintly hear the music at 70-80, but I hardly ride that fast on a regular basis. Overall, a fun and awesome speaker and I definitely recommend.

I have the smaller version and use it in my bathroom to play music from my iPhone. Then I found the bigger one for the half price ($99.99) and thought it is a great deal. It was! The Megaboom has more bass, of course more volume and sounds great. Another advantage is, that it gives you a warning when the battery is low, after 20 hours. The small one did the same, but only 5 sec before the battery was totally empty, which doesn't help at all! I love it would would recommend it to everybody who wants a portable loudspeaker with high volume and deep bass!

This may not be the best bluetooth speakers out there compared to Bose or some High end sets. I have a soundbar which packs a punch but I needed a handy speaker when I don't want to shake the whole room. so I bought this one at a deal ($99 during New year). IT is worth the bucks spent on it. Pretty clear after I adjusted the equalizer in the app. Out of the box sound is flat. So make sure you change it to your liking ! It makes a lot of difference. I'd suggest to buy if your budget is <100bucks and looking for a good speaker than JBLs.

This is the Bluetooth speaker I have been waiting for. It has big sound, booming bass, and can fill up a room (or your back yard). It is a snap to set up, and the battery lasts an eternity. I love that this unit is waterproof, so I can take it outside and listen while barbecuing or entertaining without worrying about weather or accidental spills. The design is well thought out. The accompanying app is simple to use. Setup is a breeze. The only knock is the price, but the sound is so big and so full, and the bass is so booming. I almost bought a second to try out the true stereo pairing, but I couldn't justify the cost with the sound of a single unit being so good.

I bought both the Boom and Megaboom and compared them and frankly I couldn't find enough to justify the extra $100 for the Megaboom. I ended up returning it for another Boom. Don't get be wrong, its a great speaker, but so is its baby brother, the Boom, and its cheaper. Both exceed the battery life stated by the manufacturer, and both produce loud awesome sound. The Megaboom is water-proof but the Boom is only water-resistant, regardless I have no plans to stick expensive electronics in any substantial amount of water. I gave it 5 stars because it is genuinely a great device regardless of price. You can't go wrong with the Boom or Megaboom, ultimately it comes down to how much you are willing to spend.

I have purchased two Mega Booms in the past few years. The first one died and the battery cannot take a charges. Conveniently, the battery died outside of the warranty period. The other Mega Boom blew its speaker and sounds like crap. Based on this run rate, I expect the other UE bluetooth speaker my wife bought me will fail in the next several months. There is no way in this world I am ever going to buy another UE speaker. They dont last and UE doesnt stand behind their product.

This is a great sounding speaker. I know most average people go for the Beats by Dre/Apple but I gave this speaker a try and in my opinion it surpassed the Beats equivalent. It's louder, better sound and had 100 ft Bluetooth range compared to the 30 ft range the Beats speakers have. The battery in my speaker last very long, even played at it's peak!! I definitely would recommend this speaker so someone that wants clear loud sounding and crisp music This speaker is an A+++ in my opinion

    Quality Control/ Charging Failure

    speaker

I thought it would be a good idea to buy this speaker due to the fact that it was on sale. The reviews sounded good, so I thought that I would give it a try. I could not have been more disappointed in this speaker. The charging port does not work, making the speaker worthless. I am disappointed in the quality control and product that UE has put out onto the market. Not only that, but I have other smaller speakers that are just as loud as this one for the fraction of the cost. Please do not waste your money on this speaker even if it is on sale.

This product most definitely delivered what it said it would. Nice full sounding audio. The higher pitches do not come in as well as I'd like, but it's not terrible for the average person or even someone who can tell the difference between 192 and 320. What I was very disappointed in was that the volume up button does not work. Also, the case the speaker came in has a torn live hinge. something that a $300 speaker ought not to have for it's case. An actual hinge would be more acceptable. Going to return this unit as soon as I can and hopefully find out this was a severe hiccup in manufacturing. Overall good speaker. Expected guaranteed quality from such an expensive piece of equipment.

I'm an audiophile... or, at least I'd like to think that I am. I thought I'd be sacrificing good audio quality for functionality (i.e., waterproof, battery life, Bluetooth). In "real life" use, I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality. Need quality in a "controlled" audio environment??? Then the B&W T7 is worth the extra $50. But for outside at the beach... on the boat... at a Jeep rally, then the Mega-Boom is spot on. Do not expect the best quality at the highest volume settings... and, I found using the equalizer does help with certain music genre. But, I recommend highly... and plan to purchase a second one.
