    Best Game on PS4

Love the characters, love the humor. The story is intriguing and has a good setup. Then, things get a little too goose chase and Nate in particular starts making dumb moves. Artificial conflict created for the sake of it. Tisk tisk Naughty Dog, I thought you were better than that. The driving segments were a visual spectacle but that Jeep handled terribly and I died so many times. 10-20 times at least. How frustrating. There are also some silly combat sections in the middle of nowhere, because... reasons? Then, finally, the game starts to redeem itself in a major way. I couldn't wait to play more and find out what happens. Some cool developments with Sam, the adventure stuff starts really picking up, things with Elena start happening, its all starts to gel. While some of the writing has been "get us there" with people acting out of character in order for this story to work, I've grown to accept it lol, because I love these guys. The entertainment value makes it worth it. When I finally finished the game, I was pleased by what I saw. What an incredible ending. I did not see any of that coming and it was actually really heartwarming emotional and good all around. What a unique epilogue, it was unexpected yet really fit the series somehow. TL;DR: While the story is a little "get us there" and the vehicle sections aren't great, the characters are fun as always and wraps up in a satisfying way. Great game!

To start off with the positives, this game is absolutely beautiful. The locations and levels are usually nothing short of breathtaking. The character models are realistic and yet very game appropriate. The voice acting is top of the line and the story is pretty engaging, probably one of the better ones in the series considering the character development and interactions as well as the way the story unfolds. These are the elements that lend me to giving this game a high score. What almost made me make it 3/5, and would probably be lower if not for the previously mentioned attributes, is the gameplay. The combat and use of stealth is actually pretty good, but the core gameplay is pretty poor. The game, at least for the first 10 chapters, involves essentially running down linear paths and the utilization of a pretty poor climbing mechanic that is used far, far too often. The confrontations have been designed pretty well when they occur, but in between them it's running down a path, climb up a wall, jump side to side on the wall, swing with scripted set-up, and just, overall, be unchallenging and kind of boring. From a gameplay perspective, the only fun part is the combat since it uses some stealth and decent gun controls. I would recommend the game, but it is not without its faults.

Don't get me wrong, uncharted as a series is awesome. Uncharted 4 is a great game...the graphics and sound are superb. The story starts off slow as you are introduced to the brother we never knew Nathan had but is vital to set up the story. There's quite a bit of climbing so if platforming is not your thing this might not be for you. The reason for the 4 stars is even if the story was everything a fan would want with great pacing between action and cool down moments, the game misses out on creating the iconic action scenes found in prior games such as the train scene in 2 and the plane scene in 3. The biggest action scene in this game felt like the level where Nathan is being chased while in a jeep through a town and grappling onto another vehicle, was demoed and appeared on youtube months before the game was released; I just wished it had more surprising action sequences. It's a well-polished game but the gameplay mechanics show its age where it felt like I had already done this before in prior games and just went through the motions to get through the story anticipating something new. Fans of Uncharted should definitely pick this up but don't expect anything new from the formula.

This is a somewhat different game than the previous 3 Uncharteds. First, it's about twice as long (took me 17 hours to finish) as any of the others. Second, it has a much heavier focus on story and cinematic elements. There are a lot of moments of down time in the game where there's no action going on and you're just walking and talking to people, or climbing things. I actually think it worked quite well for a first play but I'm not sure how replayable the game will be with all of that stuff in there. The biggest noticeable change is the combat though. No longer does getting spotted mean everyone has a laser focus on your position at all times. You can break line of sight and hide from everyone again, although they will be in an alerted state until you clear the area. They work with each other to flank you and destroy whatever cover you're using. But you have the edge with the grappling hook, probably the coolest addition to an action game in recent times. And if you don't want to deal with the cinematic stuff the main menu lets you choose a combat scenario from the story to instantly jump to.

I'm not sure why this has garnered so many game of the year nominations/awards. Yes, the story is somewhat interesting, but it's nothing that you haven't seen done better in film/tv. The improved stealth mechanisms reflect the influence of The Last of Us, but do not feel as smooth or fun when put into practice. The rock climbing portions of the game are still largely linear, with the player simply pointing in a direction and pressing a button, with no real sense of discovery. And combat wasn't particularly interesting because you're left fighting the same handful of enemy types throughout the entire game. At least the first two Uncharted games incorporated different enemy factions (the supernatural kind), but here you're just going to fight the same group of generic mercenaries over and over again. I had high expectations for this game, but felt let down by the franchise. Rise of the Tomb Raider was far better in its execution of essentially the same game play mechanics.

If I could give this review 3.5 stars I would. I will say this game was not nearly as good as I thought it was going to be. Pros: The story was engaging and I am not the type of gamer to really deeply care about graphics, but the level of detail and attention made the game more immersive. There were several views in the game where I just stood there for a minute or two and looked at the detail the game designers put into the game. Cons: I thought the characters were a little more annoying than I remember. The contextual dialogue was cool, but they usually didn't have anything to say that I cared about. The gameplay to me was extremely repetitive and not super fun. Platforming, firefight, puzzle, story sequence, repeat. That was basically the entire game in a nutshell. The online multiplayer had a greatframerate, but thats about it.

Love letter to Uncharted fans. I was a huge fan of Uncharted 2 and after my disappointment with 3 I was looking forward to this game. Ill keep this short and to the point. Great visuals, some of the best on PS4. So so combat A driving level that was pretty fun Very simple puzzles Great voice acting Plot holes Every level has a few large scripted events that are mostly predictable Disappointing gameplay ending Great story ending I am not a fan of the multiplayer Here is my biggest problem with the game....TOO MUCH CLIMBING, way too much climbing as time filler. Good grief there is soo much climbing it honestly made me want to just finish the game and get it over with. The filler was so annoying I do not want to play through this game again. I'm not the biggest fan of the Uncharted series in large part because I think the shooting feels awful, but the story has always been good, so I endured the subpar gameplay. With Uncharted 4, Naughty Dog had made the game much more enjoyable to play thanks to the addition of accessibility options, specifically the lock-on targeting option, which makes the shooting nowhere near as frustrating as it is without lock-on. That said, I think the story is a bit weaker in 4, but it's still good enough and, if nothing else, it's one of the prettiest rides one can enjoy in the gaming space. Also, it often lingers on scenes/moments/etc, making the game a handful of hours longer than it should be when all is said and done.

The voice-acting, the set pieces, the puzzles, the story, the action, the drama! I love the Uncharted series. This final installment didn't suffer from sequelitis in the way Uncharted 3 did in my mind. Though still plenty fantastical, the game was fun and exciting to play! I have also been having a great time playing the multiplayer modes. It's a rare game that has fun multiplayer and single player modes of equal satisfaction. My one major gripe with the game is the lack of the co-op mode and the split screen for co-op and multiplayer. I've been wanting to find more couch co-op games to play with my wife and was really hoping that since previous installments of the series had couch co-op, I could get that here as well. No such luck.

Uncharted 4 sees the series come (once again) to an end, for better or worse. Graphically, the game looks quite amazing, as the series is known for its stunning set pieces full of detail, and well-animated characters. Gameplay-wise, it's nothing entirely new for the franchise, beyond a few additions such as Nathan's Just Cause-style swing hook, and a hand-to-hand combat system that feels like an improvement over the clunky combat of the previously final entry, Drake's Deception. The story is pretty much the usual Uncharted affair; a historical legend/secret is uncovered by Nathan and company, leading to epic chases and shootouts. If you liked the previous 3 entries, then you'll be right at home with Thief's End.

In the era of high definition graphic consoles and 4K televisions I can say we have come a lon way since Atari. This game is the fourth installment in the uncharted franchise and yet it's been refined and perfected the story left me wanting more substance and the graphics made me feel more like I was playing this on last gen consoles. At times shading was poorly done, water looked like it did on consoles that are last gen, and overall npc characters seemed repetitive at best. Don't get me wrong though the game did keep me going till the end but it would have been nice to get something that looked better than a tweaked uncharted 3 game from a PS3 on the PS4.

I'm new to the PS4 exclusives and among other lesser reasons, I actually purchased a PS4 (my first ever PS console) largely because of the Uncharted and Last of Us exclusives. I binged-played the Uncharted trilogy collection to get caught up and then recently acquired Uncharted 4. Consistent with it's predecessors, Uncharted 4 was loads of fun. I really enjoy the whole action/adventure/explore genre and Uncharted is one of the best. I still think my favorite in the genre are the recent Tomb Raider games, but Uncharted 4 is not far behind. I enjoyed it and I think you will to if you're a fan of the genre.

Naughty Dog has created another fantastically detailed world for Drake and team to roughhouse through. Beautiful set pieces, excellent direction and voice acting all come together to shape a well-paced adventure flick as video game. Have not rushed through to the end yet so I can't comment on how satisfying the series wraps, but if you, like me, were fearful of the game failing to maintain the humor and integrity of the characters with the shake up in original writers and constant release delays, don't be. This is no money grab but a beautiful reunion with old friends- add to cart now. See you in multiplayer!

While this game can get repetitive at times with the climbing to get most places, it still has enough great action gameplay to make the game fun. If you liked any of the other Uncharted games I recommend you pick this one up. It's pretty much EXACTLY the same as the others and I don't mean that as a bad thing. Story, graphics and animation really shine as aways with this franchise, except this time around its all put through the ps4 engine, so you get stunning beautiful and large environments to play in. Naughty dog also does a great job with camera in the action scenes, you'll feel like you are in a movie.

I'm about 8 hours of play into the game, only 10% completed. So the game is quite long which is nice compared to CoD or Battlefield. The graphics are amazing and the panoramic views are awesome, they spent a lot of time building this world. The storyline is pretty cool, you're a treasure hunter. The only complaint I have is that it's basically a climbing expedition, you climb and climb and climb, shoot a few bad guys, climb and climb and climb, then solve a puzzle. The gameplay is a lot like Assassins Creed and so are the graphics and effort put into building the world you wander through.

Its the reason I purchased a PS4. Before the game came out I often joked with my Pro-PS4 buddy that my PS4 was broken because the Uncharted 4 button wasn't working! With that being said I love this game. The story is great. The graphics are amazing. My only issue is that the more traditional mechanics are average as best. Mainly the shooting and platforming. The rope mechanic is great, but over used. Finally the endings Awesome! So much so that i have ZERO desire to play it again. Not even the multiplayer can make me come back. Must Buy, but once you finish it trade it in while its hot!

Uncharted 4 perfectly concludes nearly a decade of adventures with Nathan Drake. The gameplay isn't much different from previous games, though there are some smaller new additions. If this is your first Uncharted, it's just as great as the rest. If not, you will be more invested in the story than the gameplay. Add a really great, though microtransaction riddled, multiplayer mode and you have a great package.

The last entry in the Uncharted series, Uncharted 4 serves as a well desereved conclusion to Drake’s adventures. Naughty Dog really out did themselves with the story and visuals, while keeping the same feel as the previes games. This can be a negative, however. Similarly to the last 3 games, especially the third one, some of the combat levels felt a bit repetetive and unnecessarily difficult in some of the harder settings. Other than that, it’s an amazing game developed by an amazing company.

I had already played all the 3 Uncharted games before this one, so I was looking forward to playing this one. It is a beautiful game with so much detail. Although it seemed many loved this game, I just like this game. The gameplay is not much different than the previous games, but there is more stealth in this game though. I'm not a big fan of stealth, so it was not something I enjoyed much. Anyway, if you love the Uncharted series, this will not disappoint you.

As the last of the series, UC4 should have stuck to the proven formula and just given us a great story to wrap things up. No need to change any of the time-proven game mechanics and controls.... and yet, they did. Why? Well, who knows, but it added a bit of awkwardness where there shouldn't have been. This is Nathan Drake's swan song, with plenty of nods to the rest of the series... why rock the boat for no reason? It's not like they're tweaking things for the next game; there *is* no next game.
