This camera works very poorly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is a really a piece of junk, it shuts off whenever, stops recording, and in general is a poor piece of equipment. a person could almost get in an accident trying to use it and reset it every time it shuts off or gets a fuzzy picture

Garbage!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these, one for my car and one for my wife. Within a week both stopped working!! The first one at night time would freeze up and not record while in motion and the second one the screen would freeze then come back on with a split screen. After i reset them i reviewed the videos and even in highest quality mode video was very grainy . There is a reason why they are so cheap. THEY DON'T WORK!! When i went to return them i noticed both where very badly screen burned too. Luckily Best Buy took them back with no hassle.

Uniden CAM250 is a throwaway dash cam (Junk)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit went defective after only a few hours into a road trip. (Pixels failed during playback in a wide uneven vertical stripe on one side. ) Summary: A cheap-o camera that gets it done, and may go defective, and you need 2 of them for full view of what's around you. Poor low light handling. Poor menu design. Needless still camera feature. Fonts, menus and icons are so micro sized they will hurt your eyes trying to figure them out and their state of blinking and color changing. The expansion memory is useless due to a short loop capacity that only accommodates the provided memory card's size. Deeper observations... Pluses: Pocket sized. Cheap fix (great for first camera experience if it doesn't break on you out of the box) or second view camera rear window or interior view application. After using it a few days I got used to navigating the crazy menus. Best Buy return policy of 15 days was honored. Minuses: Comes with a mini-SD 8mb card installed. Difficult to remove have to depress it with another similar sized card or object to pop it out of the slot - your finger won't do it I purchased a 16mb card to max out the memory to a longer loop but the loop menu only allows you to select up to a maximum of 10 minutes!) even though 16mb allows you to record 3 hours at HD. If you use the continuous recording feature, after 3 hours you will stop recording due to a full card, and have probably forgotten about it, and you're on this long road trip, and it stops recording but the micro sized status icons on the screen are useless without a magnifying glass..so you have no obvious visual reminder that you've stopped recording due to a full card. So 4 or 5 hours into your ride you realize you have got nothing from the past two hours and the camera would have nothing for you in an accident situation. The night vision even at +5 fully open aperture setting does not give you enough low light vision to record anything but headlight dots on a street which isn't lit by street lamps. On a dark road you'll see nothing but headlight dots. In the city it's fine. Mounted at the rear view mirror with the suction cup adapter, it required me to be constantly removing it or pop it from the socket to adjust the micro sized control buttons, and mounted there, the angle of view isn't wide enough to see a car until it is well past your 11 oclock and 1 oclock position of peripheral view. Too narrow to catch a cutoff or a sideswipe. You really need 2 of these in your car, one for rear facing, one for front. So factor in double your price. When playing back a 3mm wide vertical jagged bar where the white line might be on the right side of the road was blank on my screen. I don't know if this was line burn from the pavement line or a defective product. It did not appear in the recording state. Just playback. Did the image sensor get burned in from the white line being present for several hours? I don't know. There is also a still camera feature which makes using the menus confusing. You have to keep track of keep toggling back and forth between video and still to navigate menus and it's just a dumb idea to have this feature in the first place. I have a still camera on my phone and so does everyone else on the planet? Who's going to use a dash cam as their still camera for scenery? Kind of reminds me my Garmin Nuvi and the photo slide show feature. Engineers with too much time on their hands. The USB cable that comes with it was too short to reach the under the arm rest USB port of my rental car. Had to keep it plugged into the cigarette plug adapter that also comes with it. The battery life after a recharge is only 10 minutes or so to a fully depleted state. To Uniden, you almost had me...keep it simple next time. Trim down the excessive and weak features that will never be practical.

Horrible Dash Cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cam constantly freezes and software crashes which requires you to hit the reset button. The suction cup never stays attached to the windshield. There are times when there is a buzzing noise coming from the device and the screen becomes a multicolored mess. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone. Yes, it's a low priced model but it should serve a basic function and it hardly even does that. There are better options out there.

Video quality is not good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased and owned this product for two years. I haven't taken a look on the quality of image and its function until I got an accident recently and would like to examine the image and video, I find out that only a few days have records and cannot find the video I want. Definitely it is very disappointed and I would not recommend this product. I will throw this dashcam away.
