Good for $30
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it 11 months and the suction cup just broke, couldn’t get it replaced even though the B.B. website says 12 month parts, and labor. Uniden website makes it impossible to get ahold of anyone for claim. Camera works great, will cover to and from work most of the time on the 8GB card.

Cheap suction cup!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this dash cam due to the decent reviews. The dash cam does look and feel good quality. It has no WiFi so in order to download videos from it you have to plug it into a computer or take the memory card out and into a computer. no gps as well. As I tried to install it in the car, the suction cup mount won’t stay up, I tried cleaning the windshield and moistened the suction cup...no luck. Defective suction cup? Or is everyone else having the same problem?...I’m taking it back

OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good: Quality seems decent, recordings are clear and night visibility is OK. Bad: Noticeable several second gaps in looped recordings. Screen is small which is fine until you have to use/read it for more than 2 seconds. Black Friday deal for $30 makes this device OK. Cord is perfect length for 2010-14 Mustang to tuck behind console, under glovebox, up A-pillar, and over to rearview mirror.

Great for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've seen fancier ones that record front and rear of the vehicle as well as the inside but for what I need, this does the job. The instructions are pretty straight forward and I was able to install it very easily. It came with a long cable so I am able to hide the wires but keep it plugged in. (Google 'how to hide dashcam wires' it was very easy and took 15 mins) The image quality is amazing although the LED screen is small. Once transferred onto the computer, I was able to see the plates clearly. Not as great at night time, the infrared lights in front don't really make a difference in opinion and that's why I took a star away. It turns on and off automatically with the vehicle so that's a plus also. Overall, cannot beat the price. Would definitely recommend.

Good Deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good deal... I have had it for 2 days and looks nice. But the product description is little incorrect. On the website it says the view angle is 140 degree, but on the product manual its mentioned 120 degree.

Suitable for basic coverage. Some file errors.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For context, I purchased this when it was discounted for Black Friday. My review score would be lower if I had paid full price. I would not recommend this at full price. I've wanted a dash cam for a long time but didn't feel like investing a ton. When I saw this discounted for holiday sales I saw my chance to try one out without much investment. The quality isn't great. Even on a large screen, you can't pause a video and reliably read a license plate of a car that was to the left or right of you. You can read a plate of a car directly in front of you at a stop light and that's about it. So you can only depend on this camera for a basic overview of a road situation. You aren't going to be referring to the video file you when you get home and getting the license plate off of a car that was any distance away, or not perfectly in front of the camera. I have yet to try it at night, but judging by how weak the infrared LEDs look when I turn them on, I'm not expecting much. Again, it will be enough to have a record of a major incident on the road, but you won't be picking small details out of your video file. In the couple of times I have used it, I have already had lost/damaged files for no clear reason. The very first day I used it, I wasn't but a few minutes into a drive before I caught someone making a dangerous move on the road. I was already happy with my purchase because I was looking forward to getting home and having it on video. The first 10 minute file of my trip was inexplicably missing from the SD card. I triple checked that the blue LED was flashing while I was in the car, meaning that it was recording. The camera was definitely filming because I clicked on the next file that started in the middle of my trip. But the first one was just gone. I just came home from using the camera today. I had 4 files on my SD card, meaning my recording time was between 30 and 40 minutes. The first couple of files worked fine. I clicked on file 3 and it doesn't play. I removed the SD card from the camera and put it directly into my computer and still can't get it to play. 8 minutes of footage is lost and if I had been in an accident at that moment I would apparently not have any proof. I have tried more than one SD card. The first time I had a missing file, that was with the SD card that came included with the camera. I had since switched to a larger 32GB card, still Class 10 and suitable for use in this camera. And that 32GB card is where I got this second file that won't play. So it's not just that I have one bad SD card. I have all the settings adjusted correctly and it's not that I'm mistakenly overwriting the files or anything like that. Overall I am somewhat satisfied with this as an introduction to what it's like to use a dash cam. It's pretty disappointing that it seems like it will be a matter of luck which files save successfully and which ones will get lost. I am going to set the file size to 3 minutes instead, to see if maybe recording in the maximum 10 minute chunks is somehow just too much data for the camera to manage when it has to start a new file and save the last one. If anything, this has confirmed for me that I do enjoy having the camera for safety and will maybe get a better one. If this one would stop dropping files, I'd be relatively happy with it. But losing footage is not acceptable when the entire point of this thing is to have proof of an incident when you need it. If you can afford a better one, get it. You'll regret having an inexpensive camera like this when it really counts and you're trying to retrieve footage of something that happened on the road. You'll be lucky if the file is saved, and if it is you still might not be able to read plate numbers.

Good for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good for the price. Got it for $49 on sale. I bought a 32 gb micro sd to put in. It records in a loop - so you don't have to erase a card. It starts recording automatically when you start car and stops when you shut car off. So it's just set it and forget it. I use the provided cable to the cigarette lighter port. So the cord hangs down. It's suction mounted just to the right of my mirror. I suspect you'll always use it plugged in - then battery life doesn't matter. You can set different length of movies but I set 3 min. Check laws about recording in your state. You may have to tell others you're recording them. It does record sound - there may be a way to turn that off. The suction cup seems to work good on the window.

Decent camera but bad RFI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far the camera seems ok. Nightvision may leave a bit to be desired, but haven't viewed video on a computer to verify. Viewing angle of camera could be a bit wider as well. Viewing the video on the camera itself low light conditions (dusk/dawn) seem to good quality. My issue with this camera is that is causes severe RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) on my 2m ham radio. I realize this doesn't effect much of the population, but it is a big issue for me.

Practical Dash Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera is small and very easy to use. The instructions are clear and the camera can be used to overwrite footage, snap photos, or you can choose to record directly but you may need a larger GB min card. I am happy I made this purchase.

Not so great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disadvantages : cannot read Pennsylvania state license plate numbers in front of you if car is on the side, or more than about 20 feet ahead of you. And that is supposedly in 1080p highest resolution possible on this dash cam. Street signage is visible and readable however. Video looks "pixelated" when downloaded to PC, and even wprse if uploaded to facebook.. Plugs into car's power adapter for power; has a lithium polymer battery that manufacturer says takes 90 minutes to fully charge, yet will only last "up to 10 minutes on battery power alone". If you plan on using this model to "stay on" when you are parked for shopping, or for overnight hit and run accidents, etc..., this is not for you unless you have a constant power supply to it. Most cars power adapters turn off when the car's ignition is turned off. Stays on front or rear windshield with suction cup, which often falls off the window. Have not yet tested the dash cam at night with low lights or highlights shining into front of car. Not very impressed with it; however, it is better than nothing. For a cost to benefit ratio, I rate it at 2.5 out of 5 stars. I may be returning it based upon night time recording of driving. I would not recommend it unless you are OK with the above disadvantages.

Short Battery Time..Bad...Don't Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this for over a week and it is fine for a camera, but the battery really sucks. My camera's battery is good for about 5 min. So you always have to have it plug in.
