I've had the R1BBY for about a year now. The performance of this detector is unmatched at the price point. I bought it when it was on sale for $179. I was a little disappointed at first but when I updated the firmware it came alive. I have detected radar as far as 3 miles or more. Of course the laser part of the detector is virtually useless because it doesn't go off until you already see the cop but no detector is any good at detecting laser early enough to be effective. The one thing I don't like about it is the burn in that the screen gets after (imo) not a lot of constant use. Other than that, it's a beast!

Some reviewers have stated that this package does not contain contain the carry case, big suction cup or the smart cord. That is because this is the Best Buy edition (BBY) of this detector, hence why the part number is R1BBY. It's the same unit minus those few accessories. It's a great unit and has just what I needed - the detector, power cord and windshield suction cup mount. If you want/need those other accessories, then buy Model: R1DSP, Best Buy SKU:5997201.

Best radar detector on the market for the price.. was $299.99 .. this package is slimed down .. No smart cord, no big sticky cup, no holding case. Point you don’t need it.. If you want to save over $100 for the best of the best then buy it..

I am an old Redline user, this one is much better.

Awsome radar detector, I had a whistler before but this one is ten times better than any I've seen.

There are better ones out there, but they cost twice as much (or more!). This one is the best bang for the buck.

Receive this radar today bought it for my husband unsure how it works yet, but i did not receive carrying case, or single suction cup as stated on the what’s included section online

Hasn’t even been 5 hours since purchase and my screen is black and does not display anything.

I bought this at Best Buy for a great deal and was happy at the beginning, but it shocked me when the radar did not make a single beep when I passed by police cars on interstate who were using radars to catch speeding drivers. Not a single beep. It was beeping enormously close to retailer stores doors, etc, but certainly not to actual radars. Totally Useless!
