Best budget radar detector hands down, having one is Mando!

The features on the Uniden R3 are terrific and can compare to any high end brand costing just half the price. Range is better than anything else I have used. My only criticism is that it has so many features, I'm not entirely sure I am taking advantage of all the bells and whistles. You'll definitely want to read the manual.

wow, this one is so much better than my older $100 detector. Starts picking up the Ka band a mile away. Even if the police is on a side street or parking lot, it'll start beeping a long ways away.

Great deal when on sale. A bit over priced for everyday prices. Very basic. No real options. Good for beginners i guess. Good windshield mount. Good for Jeeps vertical windshield.

Very quality product. Build is plastic but feels adequate for what it is. Driving on the interstate, it was able to alert me to Ka band from over three miles away, which eventually turned out to be Florida Highway Patrol running speed traps well down the road. Very satisfied with this device's performance!

1,000% accurate and picks uo wverhthing from a while away on highway mode. The different tones and settings are very easy to change so u can make it perfect for you!

I LOVE my purchace from Best Buy. The Uniden R3 is the BEST radar detector at this price point. It gives me alerts to radar equipment long before I see the Police, giving me ample time to slow down. I don't speed very offen other then maybe 5 to 10 MPH over the limit on roads that have no traffic. I love the fact that you can change the colors of the screen and the sounds of the alerts to your liking. There are great filters on all the different types of radar. There are different ways you can set up the screen for the information you want to be displayed. There are so many different options that are available on this radar detector, I can't tell you all the ones that are available. Set up is easy. But at this price point and all the bells and whistles that are added, I would expect to pay over $400 for this unit.

I upgraded from an Escort Max 2 to this Uniden R3 and have no thoughts of going back. The range on this is absolutely amazing. I love the customization options you have for this unit from different sounds to colors. If you are in the market for a radar detector this is the one. With this radar detector and Waze you are almost guaranteed ticket free.

Works well and indicates cops with a radar from prett far away and over hills. First I bought and its really good. It does get annoying when it detects store motion sensors for the automatic opening doors but even then, it's still great.

Highway Patrol, local PD and Sheriff’s have a viable source of income from tickets and a obligation to write them. Even if I am going with the flow of traffic here in So. California, and everyone is doing 10mph over the speed limit, anyone can be cited. Let it be the other guy and not yourself. I pay enough in taxes I do not need to be paying more and have my insurance go up as well. If you have a home monitoring system and do not have this you are giving your money away. Pays for itself the first time you avoid a possible citation situation. They know where you are, you have every right to know where they are. Mine has paid for itself at lest 10x since got it 1 month ago. This Uniden R3 is Awesome!

This is replacing an Escort Passport 9500ix, which is a decent detector, but this one has slightly better range and not as many false alerts. Like the speed display on screen as well. It is an expensive purchase, but pays for itself quickly when you consider the impact of one ticket, ie: fees, court surcharge, long term insurance increases. Great investment.

Excellent long rang detection. Excellent value for a high performance radar detector. GPS is a must have in a radar detector. You are able to program it to silence false alarms from doors and buildings that you frequently pass by. I also own a Uniden R7. I prefer the R3’s smaller size.

Very strong at finding signals at long distance. All the features of being able to track where signals are and turn on or off, gps, etc are great. Looks and sounds great. Haven't had a lot of time to program it yet, but i love the features and it looks great hardwired with a blend mount! Can't go wrong with this detector!

Was doing some research before I bought this unit. New model came out R7, honestly the same thing with the exception of Arrows feature (will tell you where signal is coming from). The range on this is really good. Minor false alarms, I've muted/marked areas where they are and no issues honestly. It has saved me at least 3 times since I purchased it last month.

Love this radar detector. So easy to use no downloads - just plug in. All the radar detection types monitored. Love the chirp to get my attention.

First radar detector. Seems like a good one… especially on sale. Good sensitivity (Laser detector aspect seems worthless). Nice feature set but can see the value of some pricier features (like directional indicators). Handling the heat of summer well. Definitely recommend hard wiring it.
