Love this radar detector! Exactly as described and more! Has false detections here and there but so do all, just not as often thankfully! Every time it's a true radar though there's no distinction and you can know for sure! Trustworthy and has already saved me multiple times! Pays for itself!

Great long range detection. A little bigger than I would like but great product.

I am very happy with this purchase. I have had a valentine one radar detector for years and Uniden R7 is a 100% better. I like using all the new features and I like the fact that I can update my radar detector using my computer to get the newest firmware version. The range is incredible and I’m convinced this is the best radar detector out there.

Uniden makes the best radar detectors available. I had the previous model before. Used everyday for 3 years driving for work. Pays for it self.

I was looking forward to release of this particular radar detector. I’ve been a fan of the Valentine One radar detectors, but I’ve gotten tired and the expense of sending them back to get upgraded. On that note, Uniden has this one which does the same thing as the V1, but it has the ability to upgrade from your own pc/laptop. I’ve been using this extensively and it has saved my bacon on numerous occasions. Highly recommended if anyone is on the fence about getting one.

Love the arrows! This has been great and getting this at the sale prices didn't hurt either. I know the R8 is coming out about now, but not sure there is enough difference in features to justify the pricing on the R8 for me. Happy enough in my case that i upgraded 2 R3s to the R7s. Happy driving...

Excellent detection. Excellent instant on. The laser detection is ok, not the greatest. The radar detection is spot on tested against other units and was satisfied with this units performance. Again the laser dont rely on its coverage fyi.

Incredible range and tracks source extremely well however it is way too loud even on the lowest setting and the dimmer function is hard to access. They need a button that is solely dedicated to the brightness function. There is also zero post sale support for items such as extra suction cups and a straight power cord for remote wiring. I'd wait to buy until they fix the audio and brightness issues and sales support catches up.

This is a good detector but not great. Cheaply built, the mount is floppy causing it to bounce against the windshield. It has a good range of detection but I notice it varies if I hold the detectors front up so that it’s more level , rather than the Back pointing upward. Overall a good detector.

This R7 is replacing my R3. Really like the arrows that indicate threat heading. Excellent range.

I have tried several radars in the past (nothing this expensive) and I am SO GLAD I bought this one. I travel cross country for work and this has picked up cops from any direction and long distances. Highly recommend and worth the money.

I tend to drive at night a lot so having this is very nice. This will spot a cop a mile away and you’ll be confused at first because you’re like “why is it beeping I don’t see anything” then as you get closer it’s like wow. This works too well.

The R7 has lots of features that may be off putting if you simply want a plug and play RD. If you want to customize your RD to your needs, this is the best RD on the market. Yes, you do get lots of K band falses so if you want a quiet detector with good BSM filtering, get a Pro M. If you're willing to play around, dial down your sensitivity, and enable/disable certain options, you can get it pretty quiet. I didn't give it 5 stars because the build quality could be better, especially for $600. Also, I believe K bank block is a bandaid solution for filtering. The latter can be fixed with software updates while the former can't. Another quirk I've noticed is the brightness is a bit higher in the center, horizontal strip of the screen in the dimmer option. That and the screen could stand to be even more dim but I believe this can be fixed with software updates. Having said that, I'm not reviewing what the R7 could be, but what it is at the time of this review.

I am surprised at how he doesn’t really pick up on that Mini police cars that I see parked on the road trying to radar little disappointed, but it’s OKV

Using city mode most of the time to minimize unwanted band detection. This product picks out cops from well over a mile away at times. It speaks and tells you about traffic cameras. The memory feature works well driving past things you know send of unwanted signals such as the police station in my town.

Very light weight. More sensitive than my Max360. Needs a bluetooth iPhone app, but menus are ok after learning how to use them. Easy to remove from the windshield mount, somewhat harder to remount on the rail, but ok as is. Does not bounce around, due to the unit’s very light weight. Nice semi-rigid carry case and neoprene stretch cover. Good display. I’m still learning it, but this one is a keeper!

The Range is excellent! Ka band alerts give me plenty of warning. Unfortunately, my area still uses K band so I cant shut it off. However, the latest updates has helped alot with the K Band false alerts. Picked this over the Valentine V1G2 because I didn't want to have to deal with something pairing to my phone for it to work fully.

Love my R7. It has outrageous range. A true value for the price. I also love the fact that it's updatable via computer to get the latest software updates and red light as well as speed camera updates totally free for life...

I really like this thing. So far has been the best RD I have purchased, and I have had many in my day from most companies. Uniden during the early days when X & K was the only bands to Whistler, Bel (Before and after Escort), and Escort. And even the R3. Of all the ones I have owned this one is probably my favorite. I will say, that although the arrows are nice, I would probably not sell a detector I liked just because of them. IMO, the only other "must have" feature away from detection reliability would be auto lockouts of false alarms. My Escort Max was fantastic here, and believe they recently added this feature for the R7 (Validate this is correct before purchasing if that is a must have feature for you). Very easy to recommend this RD. Detection is second to non, looks great, and has a lot of features I really like. Although I don't use an RD to speed I do like the extra awareness it provides.
