I really like this thing. So far has been the best RD I have purchased, and I have had many in my day from most companies. Uniden during the early days when X & K was the only bands to Whistler, Bel (Before and after Escort), and Escort. And even the R3. Of all the ones I have owned this one is probably my favorite. I will say, that although the arrows are nice, I would probably not sell a detector I liked just because of them. IMO, the only other "must have" feature away from detection reliability would be auto lockouts of false alarms. My Escort Max was fantastic here, and believe they recently added this feature for the R7 (Validate this is correct before purchasing if that is a must have feature for you). Very easy to recommend this RD. Detection is second to non, looks great, and has a lot of features I really like. Although I don't use an RD to speed I do like the extra awareness it provides.

I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase the R7, and I have no regrets. It detects well over 1/2 mile away. If your looking for a simple radar that does a great job, then this ones for you.

If you know about Radar bands and what bands are used in ur area, this detector will amaze you. It has caught cops from over 2 miles away for me. I myself am a maniac when it comes to driving, and this is the device to have, if you wanna stay away from the police... lol, good buy though, worth the money.

Great sensitivity minimal false alarms reliable protection

Uniden R7 Extreme Radar and Laser Detector Rocks! Notified immediately as soon as Best Buy put the Uniden R7 on "Clearance" for $349 www.slickdeals.com on an alert I set for the R7 months ago. Votex notification followed about an hour later. Sale only lasted a few hours. I purchased new and already have the R7 programmed and in the car. Also, this must be really fresh inventory, as the R7 came with firmware 1.42.141.119 which is even newer than the firmwarw that Uniden has on its website. Also, new and improved coiled power cable and better carrying pouch. $349 for the R7 vs. $699 for the R8 an easy decision.

I actually took this radar detector back, I already had an R3 and felt this one was a little too chattery... With that said Uniden just came out with a new update and Vortex Radar says it's made a world of difference. So guess what, I will be purchasing another one because the range is better than R3 and arrows are a plus.

This is a great radar detector. I’ve had it for over 6 months now and it’s definitely helped me get out of a couple tickets. Just know, you can’t expect this thing to work on its own. You have to pay attention too. It’s a RADAR detector, not a COP detector.

I originally had the unidenr r3 and was getting tired of switching it back and forth from my car to my wife's. Decided to invest in the r7 since the r3 has one of the best ranges. R7 is well worth the upgrade with all the new features especially the 360 protection. Bigger than the r3 with more storage. A must have if your state allows it.

I purchased this after reading dozens of comparative reviews and have not been disappointed. This does a pretty good job of filtering out false alarms. The programming can be pretty involved, due to the multitude of features. That said, once it’s set up, it just works. The suction cups that come with the R7 to attach to a windshield work very well, and seem to have an adhesive inside the suction cups that helps it stay put. It’s also not difficult to remove the suction cups, which is good. I don’t really speed anymore, but still like to be aware of my surroundings and this has worked really well for that so far. It even seems to do a good job with laser, which seems rare for this type of product. If I had to buy another, I would purchase this one again.

SO far so good, works great, saved be from a few tickets in my C7 Corvette! great screen, love the memory mute feature, and directional alerts. lots of customization available with colors and different alert tones, radar strengths.

This Uniden detector has very long range and an arrow that points in the direction of the radar. This really adds to situational awareness.

Works amazing and has great range. Great for long trips to alert of what is going on ahead. Only issue is it dimms to much and you can not see it at times. Returned to upgrade to R8.

Out Guns my 1st Gen Escort Redline. Never thought the directional arrows would mean anything to me, but I like them. 100% customizable. Fantastic tool. Love it.

Best range and the ability to turn off the frequencies not used around your area. I never have a false alarm and it tells you which direction the signal is coming from. Excellent product

Amazing radar. Great distance. Once you dial in your settings it gets even better. Definitely want to spend some time getting it setup or this thing will beep alllll the time. Once they release the auto lockout update this thing will be even better. Highly recommend if you're wanting one of the best out there.

Freaking love this radar! My previous radar was a r3 so this is basically the same great radar with awesome range but now with arrows, I've only had for less than a month and has already saved me twice from a ticket

The R3 and R7 are my favorite detectors. Have one of each. Highly recommend the R7 for the Arrows feature. When you get KA band you can be assured there's fuzz around. Guaranteed!!! Has saved me from tickets many times

Love this detector!!! Had the Escort Max 360c and it stopped updating via wi fi. Could not get it to update manually either. Got no response from Escort on the problem so now it sits in a box in my garage. Wish I would have just purchased this Uniden first!! The customization is amazing!
