So far it’s been great!

After doing a bunch of research I landed on the R7 and its been smooth sailing since. Its been a great detector and will absolutely destroy the 9500ix in terms of pure distance. On I5 in central CA while on a road trip it picked up KA from a CHP from about 2-3 miles out. I love this thing!

Too many false alerts!!

I went in and adjusted the settings. It did quiet down a good bit but then I felt like I was sacrificing the effectiveness of the detector by dialing it back too much. Returned it and went with the R3. Wayyyyyy quieter without compromising range.

The Uniden-R7 has a very fast response time to all Ka bands while learning and blocking 95% of all K bands. It is also easy to tell when Law Enforcement is using PoP radar as it will detect it long before it reaches your location provided you have other traffic up the road.
