I love uniden products but I had to return it. It is really large and is not better than the r3.

My first radar detector in years. It definitely has a learning curve which was easily solved with a few google searches in regards to settings and preferences. The gps functions are well worth the premium price (red light/speed camera notification, threat detection arrow, mute memory). Would highly recommend!

If you're looking for the top of the line, this is it. I've made plenty of trips on this, has saved me plenty of times. If you're picky about getting x band and K band alerts, you can always turn those off. Distance is much better than escort 360c, directional radar functionally is amazing. Went from Valentine 1 to this, wouldn't go back.

I had the R1 and decide to upgrade to the R7 for the arrows. Haven’t used it as much as I should due to COVID . A lot more Bells and whistles than the R1 You’ll need to get a stronger mount as the 2 suction mount it came with is junk

I would like to start by mentioning that I have owned several radar detectors. I got rid of all of them because of false alerts. The Uniden R7 is the most sensitive detector you can find. Its range is incredible. That is great but can also provide more of those false alerts, and it does! I was very disappointed at first because it would go off all the time, due to automatic doors in nearby buildings and cars with sensors and radars. My own car is one of those. Fortunately, the R7 has a filter that you can turn on and the false alerts almost disappear. Its range is superb. It can detect radars at almost half a mile. I measured 0.4 miles in one instance. I am not so sure about laser detection but you can rely on it for everything else. In addition, it not only checks for front but also rear radars. My car has built-in warnings for above-limit speed but I quickly fell in love with the GPS in the R7. Not only because the speed display is easier to read but also because it can warn you about traps such as speed/red light cameras. A function you can find in Waze but it is nice for those that do not run that app all the time, especially if it is not already in your car navigation system. Just remember to update its firmware frequently. It looks nice although I wish it were discrete. Nobody needs to announce a radar detector in his or her car. Still, it looks much better than most out there. One nice touch is the power cord, which gives you an extra USB port for charging other devices. My only issue with that is that when I use it, I have to unplug my dash cam. Now I need to order a cigarette lighter splitter to be able to use both devices. Instead of an extra USB port, I’d rather have a lighter extension/splitter. Definitely, the best radar detector in the market right now. I just have one suggestion to Uniden: please add Bluetooth to premium models like this one so they pair to a smartphone and update on the fly.

It does everything it was designed to do... it clear...the arrows are not only shown but also made known via voice the color variations are on point...and the ability to pick up threats at a distance that gives you time to make the necessary adjustments

This detector is certainly the king of long range detection, but isn’t nearly as refined at suppressing false detections like the Max 360. No auto lockouts either. You can manually mark false detections (stores with automatic doors, etc.), but this really only works in areas you know well. Otherwise, it just reacts to everything.

Great product. Long range detection. Definitely would recommend.

I’m not going to mention Uniden’s adversary but I will say that I’ve tried their product. It look good and I feel they put there research and development in the looks, but Uniden put the Research and Development inside making it the best protection and I have no complaints at all.
