The detector is difficult to program and update. You cannot bypass the K or expand alerts so this thing is constantly going off on false alarms and you become desensitized to it it actually becomes annoying to the point that I am plugged it and have no longer had any use for it.

Hard to update and understand what band means but once I figure it out I will be totally happy

I payed a good bit for this. I'm honestly not sure if it works right or not. It picks up everything but police for me. I have no idea why. At this point it is a paper weight. By the time it realized it wasn't doing stuff correctly, it was not returnable.

plain and simple reason for the one star, it’s simply does not work, period. Not on local police nor state police, this is actually the absolute worst detection I’ve ever experienced in a radar detector. I don’t know where they get off charging $400 plus for something that absolutely does not work. It’s great this has all those other gadgets GPS, memory, color display space etc., however all that is meaningless if the darn thing doesn’t work. Save your money and keep away.

Got a warning the other day - this didn't pick the speed gun AT all. Then again, it does pick up many frequencies, but just be wary it won't catch everything. I guess this is common knowledge but I expected it to pick up at least a bit more.

I read great reviews about this detector. In comparison tests, the R7 has the greatest detection distance. Unfortunately, after using this for a week, it just goes to show that detection distance is not the only important factor. The detector does a great job of alarming with every house alarm, garage door opener, other cars' monitoring systems. The detector is going off every few minutes even with the thing on City mode making you just want to shut the thing off!

I purchased this while on sale wanting to compare to a Escort Max 360c. Like the larger screen but that was about it. Seemed to function well but compared to the 360c it is not as easy to use.

Was not what I expected. Have had better units for lot less money

Good item so far I thought the led display went out but I did a master reset and it works fine now.

If you want to detect anything and everything non cop related, this is your detector! Updated firmware to current version that "cuts down on false alerts". HA! My escort max 360 is 2 years old. Wanted the latest and greatest. Sticking with the max 360! It rarely false alerts. And actually works on police radar. Thumbs down uniden. I'd expect this from a 99.00 detector, not a 500.00 (same as a valentine one V2 BTW. Need to rethink the price point.

just was not impressed with unit. over priced in my opinion. returned and replaced with escort max 360.

After messing with the settings there were still many false alerts. But it did alert for all cops nearby

I received this in May 2022. I detached from the mount once and it hasnt clicked back in since. The radar detector will slide right off. I emailed customer service with no response back.
