Excellent radar detector. Can detect signals from 1 mile away, with laser capabilities as well. Highly recommend.

I purchased back in Aug 2020, this has been a great RD. No issues thus far. Has saved me from uncountable tickets. Make sure to keep the firmware updated!! The latest firmware updater (v2.05 as of this review) makes doing this easier than ever.

ALL THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK LEFT WAS EITHER WORK FOR ESCORT OR DIDN'T DO FIRMWARE UPDATES. NOT EVERY POLICE CAR HAS A RADAR GUN OR LASER GUN. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH FALSE ALERTS WITH HONDA'S AND ACURA'S.

Purchased June 17, 2019. Fantastic detection. Just died after a couple of weeks of screen brightness fading. I will buy another or the R8. Saved me more tickets than the cost many times over. Highly recommend Uniden R7.

I have owned this device since April of 2020. It's been great. I also have the upgraded, aftermarket firmware for it which made it that much better. I do have screen burn-in, but I don't notice it at all in daily use. This is a great detector even if it was made obsolete by the R8. The R7 can stand on it's own even now.

Much, much better than the R3 it replaced. Worth every last penny. Cons: This isn't a "extreme long range" detector as it says on the box. This is a savage radar detector.

I've owned this radar for 1½ years so far and it's saved me hundreds of times from state & local radar enforcement. Laser Detection is not the best, but Radar Detectors in general aren't a good solution for LIDAR anyways, even if it were to be highly sensitive. Database for redlight/speed cameras is great but not as good as Waze, which is a free app for Android/iOS users. Radar Sensitivity is phemoninal, definitely amongst the top performers in the market today. I would suggest using this radar detector with Waze for maximum protection from stationary [LIDAR users are always stationary] and mobile enforcement.

Upgraded to this radar detector from the passport 9500 and it is night and day different. This thing is amazing!

The uniden R7 works well. Lets you know where law enforcement is hiding and does so at quite a distance away. Very pleased with this unit.

I also traded up from the R3 to the R7 and am very happy I did. I never got the range I was hearing on forums from my R3, however, the R7 is a beast. The ambient light sensors, the larger and much better and customizable display, and the arrows make the R7 well worth it when compared to others of a similar price points.

Love the look of the display. The arrows have finally made it! It’s an R3 on steroids. Picks up detection from far away; does what it’s supposed to do!

Upgraded from r3 to r7 to gain the directional arrows. Very glad I did. Highly recommend.

I previously owned the R3, which was amazing but it was missing arrows. This a very good product, range is even better than the R3. Works great here in Washington with the state patrol using Ka 33.8 gets a detection from a long ways away and has saved me multiple times. Overall great product definitely the best detector on the market.

This is a great product. It offers amazing features. This is a great investment. This is a definitely a must have.This is a great radar detector.

From my 1-month experience with the R7, I would say that there's definitely an issue with the front horn sensitivity. Maybe I had a defective unit, or maybe it's a firmware issue, who knows. For a $600 detector I would expect these kinks to be worked out. While I had the R7, I drove past multiple LEO's using KA Band, and the front horn would not alert until the very last second. The rear horn on the other hand is extremely sensitive and works great. I have returned my R7 and I'm back to running my trusty R3.
