Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept beeping at any red light or round-a-bout. Would beep by stores. Super annoying. Tried a whole bunch of configurations. Watch numerous videos on it. Returned the item.

Not effective in modern age

I purchased this R7 as I just picked up a Mustang and though my lead foot could use all the help I could get. I'm sad to report that this radar detector (and probably all others) are no longer helpful for two reasons - false alerts and laser. The blind spot monitoring false alerts were RELENTLESS. I tried messing with the settings to get these faded out but they kept coming. This radar detector is also great at picking up automatic doors at stores. As for laser, no radar detector can help you with laser and that is what's used by FHP on the side of the interstate anymore. This detector is good for nothing besides a false sense of security.

The clip that releases it from the mount broken within 1 weeks . The front screen seemed a bit lose . But what really made me returned it was the poor detection . YES , I did updated it to latest firmware . My buddy and I went for a road trip , he has the V1 radar . He’s radar did a great job , my won’t detect the threats until the patrol was visible . I might give a 2nd try once they fix these issues .

Poor Build Quality
