just dropped auto lockout update not too long ago and works amazing. Range is crazy far on this! Previously had a valentine v1 and this is so customizable.

have had it for a while. have driven across several states and it has picked up radar from over a mile. as soon as it chirps for the first time in a while, i slowdown and sure enough after a mile it starts detecting more and there they are. i have had luck with laser detection twice but unless the laser hits the radar directly it wont detect. radar detectors are useless against laser. i would defenatley recommend.

This is my second Uniden-R7 Radar Detector. Very happy with both of them.

Radar detector technology has come so far in the last 10 years, and the Uniden R7 is leading the pack. I love the directional detection, and this radar packs all the latest bandwidths. It suffers from a lot of Blind Spot falses, but I wouldn’t say that detracts from the quality of the device. This radar also does not have Auto GPS Lockouts like the Escort radars. Again, it’d be a nice feature, but it’s not a dealbreaker. There are rumors that it will eventually be rolled out in an update, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Overall, it’s a awesome radar detector. You’ll never feel safer on the road.

This detector picks up from a very long ways off. I wonder about the laser side of it because I have a local who has the laser out all the time in plain site. It has never gone off when I have seen him. I know they are a trigger device but the amount of times I have seen him, one would think that at least one time I would pick him up. I got laughed at by an officer running the Lidar system in Illinois. Better options in the menu would be nice. It is very plain compared to the Escort 360c unit. K and Ka bands are phenomenal though. Btw, the 360c didn't fair any better against the Lidar laser.

This can really pick up from long distance and picks up almost everything and everywhere you go.

It is worth the extra money that will pay off in dividends by knowing if you are targeted by radar pointing North, South, East or West. Did some traveling to visit grand baby, freeway all the way and I am retired, and driving a little over the speed limit. Warnings by State Patrol about looking for speeders put me on edge since a friend of mine got a ticket for following the flow of traffic. No worries since I knew the direction of the radar and had plenty of time to heed the warning signals.

I reviewed this R7 for a few days online and after I bought it and used it for a trip to Michigan, all I can say is Wow! This is one of the best on the market! Main reasons, easy to hook up and use, good filters and mute capabilities and more importantly, its ability to pickup radar in advance. Unbelievable range and get this, it has arrows to let you know direction on where the radar is coming from. Great way to let you know the direction of those Smokey’s!

Purchased this for our highway travels and this is a very good detector. It’s loud so it can’t be ignored. It picks up various types of radar and shows the direction in which the radar is coming from. Very reliable.

I upgraded from a R3 and I can say the R7 is a huge improvement in quality and design. It's a bit bigger than than the R3 but arrows are a huge improvement

This is a great radar detector. This is the second one I purchase, one for each vehicle. Love it!

This will pay for itself the first month of using it, the detection range is very good, especially on the back roads. You'd be surprised on where it picks up a signal. the settings my be a bit too technical but after a youtube video you can really tone it in to what to ignore or what to focus on.

pays for itself by keeping you out of handcuffs for wreckless driving! Buy it, its well worth the money. I had the other brand (V1) and i like this one better due to the fact that the screen is prettier. I like the arrows and you can customize colors etc. i like how it has a gps so you can tell it not to ring if you drive past a known store that has sensors that sets it off. Happy with purchase

I recently purchased the R7 after owning the R3, a little over a year. R7 was released after a few months of my R3 purchase. Both detectors are very identical when it comes to their performance. However the R7 has arrows, directing you to the location of the alert. I missed this feature which my Valentine One had. So I upgraded and I could not be happier. Well worth the upgrade from the R3 and looking froward to the firmware release of automatic lockout.

After watching a bunch of reviews I went with this R7. I have it mounted under my rear view mirror of my X5M since it’s an open back it can see out the back no issues. You will just have to get used to marking locations with the gps that has false signals like shopping center doors. Other than that so far so good I want to see how it holds up with the NE winter ahead I plan on leaving it in the truck the whole time. Oooo and the plastic does feel a little cheap but not to bad another reason why I want to set it an leave it.

Amazing, saved my butt so many times. I have a heavy foot and I hate speed limits. The arrows help. It’s worth every penny.

Great pay 500$ so you won’t have to to a lawyer when you get caught 100% recommend

Great radar detector, pricey but it do the job flawlessly! Have saved me a lot of time already.

Here's the only problem - it chirps WAY too much. The range is incredible, the arrows - LOVE IT, multi bands at once is fantastic. But that K band just won't stop. I wound up returning it and for now am just keeping my Uniden R3 but will most likely go back to Escort for the 360. If you don't mind taking the time to try and program each and every marker this is the one. For a simpler life you probably need to go with the Escort 360.
