The distance on this is crazy and to date I have not gotten any speeding tickets.

Top tier radar detector

But it’s not a deal breaker for me since I can just do firmware upgrades by connecting the radar detector to my laptop via usb. It pairs via Bluetooth very well to the R8 companion app. For recommended custom settings, check out the radar guy. Passport/valentine one use to be the best, now uniden is.

Shape of R8 is different than R7 and attractive. it has so many features, Mobile app is also available to on/off functions. Like it

No... I did not! I did purchase this bad boy that has saved me on more than one occasion. I am not telling you to speed... I'm just telling you that when you get in my car you need to respect the fact that I am indeed a racecar driver!

Picks up radar signals a mile away, blocks out nuisance signals, detects radar front/back and side to side. Well worth the price and provides eye in the sky sense of security.

I drive a lot in around the town where I live and my old detector used to go off constantly with false hits, this goes off maybe once or twice. Its picked up on several real active radars and as I drove away from one I was still getting an alert 1+ miles away!! Windshield suction cup mount has not moved in the 2 months its been on.

It works pretty much out the box only filter changed two things due to my county. But overall it doesn't pick up false readings as much as the previous one did. Def recommend easy plug n play drive around a couple times and itll get the readings and filter them out after a while.
