The best long range detector on the market. The arrows give you a heads up, on the direction of the source. Spend the extra money, and not be disappointed.

So far it has been great! There are more false alerts than probably normal, but other than that it has been a great detector so far.

Absolutely love this radar detector. I had an R7 and wanted to upgrade. So glad I did. But that doesn’t take Anything away from the R7, it was great as well.

It does a pretty good job. I do like that i can mute it from the plug. Pretty cool that it can auto mute locations that have been deemed false. I would definitely recommend

Works and is super responsive, detects farther and faster than other competitors. Only con is plastic construction that feels a little cheap.

Best radar detector I have seen. We have owned a passport in the past but the Uniden R8 seems to outperform the passport

It is a nice improvement over the R7. Has really nice long range detection. Build quality needs to be improved. Overall good detector.

Was great until gps stopped working exactly one yr to the day of online purchase, not receipt of the unit. Manufacturer stated that unless the product arrived at their warehouse that day (not post marked by), it’d be a $100 to fix b/c it would be out of warranty even though, according to them, it was a known issue with the motherboard that usual appeared around this time of ownership. Unbelievable! I’m trying out a non-Uniden product this time around.

This is a great radar detector and has already saved me, multiple times! Take the time to set it up to reduce false alerts for the state you live and drive in mostly.

This is the most effective radar detector I’ve ever had. I’ve had numerous radar detecting units and this one - hands down - outperforms all others. The directional feature is fantastic, the range is amazing and it is consistently accurate.

Cant tell enough times ut daved me without even knowing just make eure to do its updates

Hood radar only problem to many false alerts they can be muted and log so that when you pass again doesn’t make a sound

works great from long range. the overall price is hefty though.

Very quick and responsive detector, tons of settings to tweak. I was very blessed to be able to afford this, I recommend googling around for setup and updating the internal software, Unfortunately, It got stolen when I was parked in Philadelphia. I hope i can save up enough money again to buy it.
