    Research showed the Uniden R8 Radar detectot in a tie with Valentine for the best. In fact I love the audio features better than Valentine.

    I had they are seven and after given it much thought I decided to upgrade. The improvement of adding the mute button on the front is quite amazing and I use it more than the remote mute I had installed/hardwired. I definitely have less BSM false alarms and I’m happy with it. I would encourage you to get it.

    Noticeably better than the R7. Much better map marking. When I mute a known false alarm area, it stays put. No marked mute zone "drift". Mute button on the front is a big plus. A little pricey, but you can't find a better one.

    The Build Quality of the Escort is better but The larger display and and the responsiveness of the R8 were the ultimate deciding factor for me.

    The more you use it the smarter it gets. Good upgrade from my escort 360. I wanted a redline but they were not available. This was and I’m very impressed!!!
