saved me a decent amount of times, however the arrow pointing radar detection is no accurate

works good few times it did not alert me but to be expected.

I've own my uniden 8 less than four month's it does pick up great longer ranges. Lot of dollar general i pass daily it still goes off you block them it goes off but tell you it's blocked. Speaker started breaking up like broken speaker never a fll word just chatter. I ordered it best buy. They refused to send me recipe you have to go to uniden return fill out mail it and recipe to them to repair. 850.00 i order speaker from ebay sorry service from best buy. Some did'nt speak english when i said i was having trouble under standing she hung up. All evening and was going to have to drive 100 miles. Never again.

Good radar response. Hope they active the bluetooth feature.

Not that great! It just not good quality in my opinion. Maybe someone else it a great product. Just not for me.

Cheap build. The front cover popped off with a 3 foot drop. Snapped back on easily, but I didn't notice that the Mute and Mark buttons also fell out. Uniden insists on an in-house "repair" at $100 and a minimum of two weeks instead of simply sending out replacements. A secure construction for a portable device should come at these prices. Customer service offered no apology and hung up.

We all know why you'd want to buy this, but save the money and anxiety. You need a EE degree and an "insider" to set this thing up to not just go off everytime you pass by anything with a radiowave transmitter or laser (that's highway sensor, store metal detectors, most cars with "self driving"/ blind detection, a tool playing with a laser, etc... Just drive smart..., safe, and AWARE.

Has some flaws and there are currently no updates to correct it great unit over all though

Purchased the R8 about 4 weeks ago. If you're like me and prefer to simply go with "Auto" settings, then setup is a piece of cake - up and running in a few minutes. Great sensitivity, and the auto mute memory is very much appreciated. I prefer a dash mount as opposed to anywhere on the windshield (some states are uptight about that), and the larger suction cup adheres super-great on the dash - I put velcro on top of the mount and the bottom of the R8, and it's quite stable and looks quite good (I still can't figure out what the smaller dual-suction-cup mount is for - I can think of no place on my windshield where that would work, and it doesn't stick very well). However, I never understood why companies insist on power cords that are coiled, which means they often must be stretched to get from unit to power source. This produces a great amount of tension that easily pulls the unit from its mount, and the cord looks stupid and ugly and impossible to make inconspicuous. I ended up buying a substitute power cord that's straight wire (and generous in length) for about $6 elsewhere. I was able to discretely tuck the wire from the unit to its power source - 95% of it is completely hidden. Problem solved. And the new Android app for the R8 named "R/Tach" works great - a very handy accessory. It also tells you when firmware updates are available!

Not picking up whatever my Local PD is using. I passed a motorcycle officer standing on the side of the road, actively pointing his radar? gun and it never alerted. Thankfully i was not speeding, but the person in the next lane over was, and the driver got pulled over.

I have a heavy foot. I love that ot detects all bands. So much that i had to silent X and K band

Far from impressed with range compared to the Escort products. Directional arrows often indicate radar in the wrong direction, so worthless. Going to return.

The radar doesn’t catch anything but cvs or target automatic door
