They always activate, and Valve is a great company with excellent ethics. Makes for a good stocking stuffer, card addition, or even for yourself if you would prefer not to use a credit card on Steam.

We don't have to worry about getting it wrong!! Best Buy made it totally easy -- we bought online and picked the cards when they emailed us they were ready. No waiting, no looking for the product.
