From what I understand, it's basically my nephew's generation of pinball/video game tokens; and this is what my nephew wanted for his birthday, and was QUITE tickled that he got it... so He's happy with it, which was the goal. I personally DID NOT like the fact that the card was simply heavier paper stock...I expected something more like a standard gift card (plastic) but I guess it's more environmentally friendly this way...

These steam cards are great gifts for computer gamers. The card has a scratch off area under which is a code that is activated at purchase. Just make sure that it looks untampered. These come in several denominations and are better for gifting than an emailed code.

There's not much to say about steam wallet cards. You buy them, scratch off the film covering the code, enter the code into your steam account, then go and buy some more games, adding to your never ending backlog. ;-p On a serious note, if you know someone who's a PC gamer and want to get them a game or two but don't know which ones to get, a steam wallet card is a very safe bet.

Nice gifts like these can be Extremely difficult to find, and sometimes they can get Very expensive. Fortunately, our recipient is into Electronic gaming. This made it easier for us to Really hone in on that perfect gift. Gamers really do appreciate gift cards, and quite Often will actually pause their game to express their gratitude. Neither sun, nor rain, nor dark of night will keep them from their Nightly gaming, but this card was enough for him to stop and show his Appreciation. Giving more screen time, some say, isn't always a good thing. I find that to be an Interesting thought, but weighed against all the other things they could be doing Video gaming seems rather tame. Especially when it is something they Enjoy so much. Young and old alike are into gaming these days. From our 3 year old On up to our 73 year old, almost everyone enjoys some type of screen time. Unless they're doing homework, the kids seem to really enjoy it. Ultimately it is up to us to determine the balance between screen/non screen time. Perhaps reading the first letter of each line can help with that.

I'm just writing this for the reward points. It's exactly what it says it is.

It's sorta of a hassle to have to go buy a card, but I like the idea that my kids, (and husband) can pay for steam games without having to use a credit card on the website. The security aspect is worth it and it is so simple to use. I would definitely recommend this for your teen kids, when you don't want to use a credit card for their purchases.
