The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo is a simple, budget-oriented projector that would be a great option for casual movie nights or camping trips but would struggle to live up to the task of being the primary way you consume media. Setup and Unboxing: To its credit, the Leisure 470 Neo is quick and easy to set up. Within minutes of unboxing, you can have the projector up and running. It includes a simple kickstand—a small screw that, while not the most elegant solution, gets the job done. The projector also comes with an HDMI cable and lens cover. My main complaint was the egregious amount of plastic packaging; each component is individually wrapped, which feels wasteful and environmentally unfriendly. The remote also did not come with batteries, which is a minor inconvenience and not always standard but worth noting. Highlights: One of the standout features of the Leisure 470 Neo is its ability to cast media from your phone. Unfortunately, it is cumbersome to connect to one's phone and playback content. On iOS, the method for doing so is straightforward but somewhat tedious. The process requires connecting via AirPlay and then screen mirroring, with one but not the other resulting in missing either audio or video respectively. This limitation means you can't use your phone for other activities while casting, which can be a significant drawback — particularly while traveling, where you may need or want to use your phone for other things while playing content. The other option is to use HDMI, which is much simpler but necessitates using the physical HDMI cable and having a device capable of HDMI output. On the plus side, I had no issues getting my laptop, PC, and Nintendo Switch to playback using the projector. The Leisure 470 Neo thankfully allows for adjustments to picture distortion and minor tweaks to picture settings. I found the default "standard" picture profile to be too dark and dull, but tweaking it was simple. The projector also remains decently visible even in a dimly lit, as opposed to completely dark, room. I was pleasantly surprised that even in one of the rooms I tested, a hallway area adjacent to a window, the streetlamps outside did not affect my viewing experience. Drawbacks: The first and foremost issue I had is that the image is fuzzy and text clarity is very poor. While trying to game, I was disappointed to find that text and dialogue were difficult to make out. With a text-heavy game, I can't see this projector being usable. The second was sound quality. I didn't expect bombastic audio, but the audio quality is suboptimal, to put it nicely. The speakers are tinny and while it's fine in a pinch, I would strongly recommend external speakers. Do mind that with Bluetooth speakers, there is usually a few milliseconds of delay. The remote control, while handy, would have been best supplemented by an app since the device would be difficult to operate if it were to get misplaced or left behind. Considering that the Leisure 470 Neo would make for an excellent traveling companion, it's a shame that this was not taken into consideration. An app might also help with navigating the hassle of casting from a phone. Another issue is heat and noise. The fans kick in upon powering on and remain on until the projector is turned off, but even so, within ten minutes of playing back content, the projector was noticeably warm to the touch. This raises concerns about its long-term durability for me. The power brick is also chunky and awkward. In the photo attached, you can see that it is massive, taking up quite a few outlets on a power strip. This would present a problem if you were to, say, use this in a hotel room with limited outlets. Having a proprietary power cable also means that if you were to happen to lose or forget to bring it, you would be out of luck. I would have liked to see USB-C power delivery. Final Thoughts: Despite its limitations, the Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo offers a nostalgia that could enhance the charm of any movie night. Although it does feel a bit cheap and the image quality isn't great by any means, it would be a fantastic fit for trips and I can see it being a hit at a children's sleepover or amongst students wanting a cheap way to watch TV in their dorm room. Its name reflects its optimal use case well: it is best suited for leisure, not primary use. Unfortunately, because of its clunky phone-casting capabilities, I can't see it being the absolute best solution for watching content on the go. TL;DR: -Image quality is just okay and certainly not suited for text-heavy applications. Decent for gaming as well if the game is more cinematic and visuals-focused -Speakers are, put bluntly, bad. Use external ones for the best experience -Offers a cozy nostalgic vibe, great for a movie night or even a date night -Should travel fairly well, but keep in mind the large power brick size, and don't forget the remote or you won't be able to adjust the lens focus -Connecting to phone is doable, but a hassle. I would recommend using HDMI if you need to use your phone at all while watching content. On the upside, being able to screen mirror means you can also mobile game on this projector.

The Vankyo-Leisure 470 projector is probably one of my least favorite things I've ever gotten. imI would have returned it if I could. I will say that it does most of what it says it does. Just not very well. I spent days and days and days trying to figure out how to connect my pixel phone to this projector. I finally contacted the company and they let me know that both pixels and Samsung phones will not connect to this projector. After multiple attempts, I was able to connect it to my iPad to watch some shows with screen mirroring.But, I was never able to connect it to my Lenovo laptop even after they sent me explicit instructions. To me that defeats the purpose of a wireless projector. Did the projector work well? Yes, but only when connected to my iPad. The screen was easy to adjust. It was easy to make the focus clear, it was easy to make the size correct. But I also spent weeks trying to figure out why there was a big black spot on my screen from the moment I took it out of the box. They finally sent me instructions on how to clean out the dust window. And when I got inside there there were pieces of little balled up plastic all over the inside. I cleaned them out, but what a pain to deal with on day 1.

It is perfect. Small and compact. Easy to transport. Very clear image and easy to follow directions. Worth the price. Good value.

Nowadays buying a projector is somewhat complex because of the amount of options available and the variety of their prices. The difference, speaking of prices, can be really distant from one brand and resolution to another, this difference can go from hundreds to thousands of dollars without exaggeration. Now, we cannot deny that the higher the price the better results we will get, in most cases. So it comes down to a couple of questions that although simple are very important, what do we need, and what is our budget? This Vankyo 720p projector would fall into the entry level projector category, it lacks certain features that might be important or indispensable for some people. Its price, while not entirely justifiable, is somewhat understandable. Included in the box is the projector, a remote control (no batteries included), a power adapter, an HDMI cable and a user manual. The projector has a variety of connectivity options including HDMI cable, AirDrop, Wireless mirroring, Android devices mirroring, and 3.5mm RCA AV. Despite having this variety of connectivity options, not all of them can be used successfully. Of the wireless connection options the only one I was able to use relatively seamlessly was wireless mirroring, AirDrop did not work and the other options were not recognized by my phone. While I was able to connect my phone it wasn't the best experience to be honest. And the reasons focus mainly on performance and connectivity because in terms of design and finish there is not much to say, it is a product in which you can perceive the savings in manufacturing costs. In terms of performance, the promised quality is 720p but sometimes it doesn't seem to reach it at all. Playing videos in native 1080p format in a dark room, the image quality leaves much to be desired. The content that can be played with this projector loses quality and that is very noticeable, it is not sharp and color reproduction is not the best. I could not say that different types of content from different platforms could give a better result since it is not possible to play, at least from wirelessly connected mobile devices, content from platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus, etc. This is due to copyright issues, it is only possible to play this content, and the manual recommends it, from a laptop connected via HDMI, which in my opinion makes this projector a very limited device. The audio does not even reach the quality of a portable speaker that we connect to our phones to do our chores. You can hear what is being played but it does not seem to be enough to immerse you watching a science fiction movie or the genre of your liking, let's say it only fulfills its purpose but at the limit of what is acceptable. In addition to this, when playing virtually any allowed content, there is a noticeable delay that can be unpleasant for some people, I include myself in them. The only way to avoid it, also recommended by the user manual, is through a wired connection, i.e. connecting headphones to the 3.5mm jack output of the projector, which worsens the little use that can be given to this product. One of the things that seemed to me a mistake is that when playing content in portrait format, the projector does not rotate the image and does not have the option in the settings or at least I could not find the way. In conclusion, and returning to what I initially mentioned regarding the couple of important questions when buying a projector, I can say that this projector Vankyo - Leisure 470 Neo 720P is a low-end product that offers the basics at a relatively affordable price, due the limitations and drawbacks that can be found in its use, look for other options at the same price or a little higher is completely reasonable. Unfortunately the areas of opportunity that this product has, for me, are something that I could not overlook, so I would limit myself to recommend it only to those who are looking for a barely basic result and have no problem with the limitations of playing content wirelessly, otherwise I could not recommend it, sorry.

Tested and it is easy to set up and work like a charm. Led light means it will not get overheat and wifi support works.

I have been using this product for the last few weeks and I am very satisfied with its performance. The quality is exceptional and has exceeded my expectations in several aspects. I love how it fits my needs and how easy it is to use. Without a doubt, I would recommend it to my friends and family. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that I wish it came in more colors.

Decent Projector easy to set up out of box, however image resolution is on the lower end for quality. Good to use for a quick solution when in a bind, but I end ed up returning as realized would want something more reliable long term. Had some difficulty getting my phone to connect

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter in college. It was easy to set up and get connected. She now lives hosting dorm movie nights in her room. It could be brighter, but for the money it gets the job done well enough.

For the price it's good. My kids love watching movies on it. I watched Water World on it and hooked up my Bose Soundbar to it.

This projector is Very easy to use and has a clear picture.

I would recommend to a friend. Headphone jack didn't work for a external speaker. Otherwise its pretty good

I love this little projector. I use it in my bedroom in place of a television. I have my Roku stick and a soundbar connected to it. It feels like you are sitting in a movie theater. Great quality at a great price!

This little projector was great. I purchased it to show family photos at a friends Celebration of Life. His family had no means of projecting their photos so this really made their day.
