This projector has no dial to adjust the focus. I am using this to project murals and without the ability to adjust the focus it is pretty useless. I missed my return window by two days. Not happy with this purchase at all.

my experience with it has been quite positive. When I first unboxed the projector, I was pleasantly surprised by its compact size and lightweight design. The packaging was efficient, and despite the absence of batteries for the remote, all other promised accessories were included.
Setting up the projector was extremely straightforward. Connecting my Roku Streaming Stick via HDMI was quick and hassle-free, and the onboard USB port was even able to power the Roku. I also tested a USB drive with videos, and it played them effortlessly. Additionally, connecting the projector to an external Bluetooth speaker was seamless, without any audio lag, which is a significant improvement over other projectors I’ve used in the past.
The image quality of the Vankyo - Leisure 470 Neo is commendable for its size and price range. It provided sufficient clarity in my living room, as long as the blinds were drawn to minimize ambient light. The colors were vibrant enough for an enjoyable viewing experience. Although it might not compete with high-end projectors in terms of resolution and brightness, it performs admirably given its compact form factor and affordability.
The built-in speakers, while impressive when the unit is close to the viewer, might not suffice for everyone. However, the ease of connecting a Bluetooth speaker enhances the audio experience significantly. I was particularly pleased that there was no noticeable audio lag when using the Bluetooth connection, which has been a recurring issue with other portable projectors I’ve tried.
Portability is one of the standout features of this projector. Its lightweight design and built-in vertical adjustment stand make it easy to transport and set up in different locations. The power cord is of a practical length, striking a good balance between usability and portability.
Navigating the user interface was intuitive, and the remote control, despite needing separate batteries, worked well. The menus were easy to navigate, and I had no trouble figuring out the settings and options available.
Though I haven’t used the projector for extended periods, during my usage, I did not notice any significant fan noise, which speaks well for its heat management and overall reliability.
In terms of value for money, I believe the Vankyo - Leisure 470 Neo Wireless Mini Projector offers great bang for the buck. The feature that stands out the most for me is the smooth Bluetooth speaker connectivity, devoid of the audio lag issues that plague many portable projectors. This, combined with its compact size and ease of use, makes it a highly recommendable option for portable use cases or environments that don't require high-lumen projections (like outdoor daytime settings or brightly lit rooms).
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the Vankyo - Leisure 470 Neo Wireless Mini Projector. I would definitely recommend it to others, especially those looking for a portable projector with reliable Bluetooth audio capabilities. It’s ideal for users who need a lightweight, easy-to-set-up projector for casual viewing in controlled lighting environments.

The Vankyo - Leisure 470 Neo 720P is, in my opinion, an affordable entry-level option for those who are interested in a small-size device, while still performing that should also be budget-friendly. The 470 NEO model, with under 3.5 pounds offers a significant brightness reported at 140 lumens that provides a quite nice experience in darker rooms, including projecting against white walls. If you are projecting in light environments, to obtain a similar level of projection I used my projection screen. Note also that this delivers a 1280 x 720 resolution, that places the image in HD (not full HD) and this is perfect for most of the uses that I have in mind: family karaoke, video games, or movies during family camping trips. Of course, if you are aiming for better performance for a movie theater you will need to go for a more performing but expensive product.
Please note, based on my personal experience, that for your first setup, you should consider putting some batteries in the remote (not included) and start by adjusting the contrast and image focus directly with the proper button. Once the view it’s clear, go and select the rest of the setup elements: language, size… After that initial step, definitively the remote is your best friend for device management.
Being a portable model, I found that the size is in line with the weights but the manufacturer didn’t forget to maintain a decent aesthetic, that integrates the built-in speaker. The projection also includes a small built-in level that could be enough for small settings but I found too small for most of my projections. For me the speaker, while basic and probably not enough for a full sound sounding sound is great for the use that I have in mind (except the karaoke when I used a full sternal speaker connected to the projector by Bluetooth). Note that the speaker with the limitation is one of the features that has been a great surprise for me I couldn’t find it detailed in the specs and talking about portability is a great to-have element.
This small projector offers a range of connectivity options, including HDMI and USB inputs that will allow you to connect with your TV receiver laptop, and game consoles. However, again in the benefit of portability, my favorite option has been the wireless connections with Bluetooth. In fact, screen mirroring with my Android phone as input and connected at the same time to a small external speaker (also wirelessly) is my favorite setting. If the projection is in a dark environment with a white wall, I can not find a more minimalist yet efficient system.
Finally, I mentioned that I used the projector for camping trips but I need to clarify that I have a solar generator because this device requires to be connected to power. There is no battery included to run the device in the absence of power.

Its purfect at what it does and thats giving you 720p at an clear view. I was impressed by the features and the keystone settings that Projected had. I used an 100 inch projector screen and it looked really nice. you can have your phone use Airplay to connect to projector. this little buddy you can take with you on the go with ease. There are penety of opitions but this product is mighty!
HDMI is supplied on the side of the projector so any thing with a HDMI source can connect. I like the overall design and the weight of the project is a bonus. Vanko is a fantasitc product that anyone should use or buy. I enjoy the price of this projector the most. setting up was easy you just have to take your time to go though settings and get the correct position you would like on the wall. it took me about 30 to fix the keystone settings but once they were good to go its was perfect for streaming apps. I happen to love this item, its perfect and doesn't use that much data being 720p, playing console games on the device were amazing.

This is the second wireless mini projector that I have. We used the first exclusively for our camper, but the one at our Church malfunctioned and we moved it there. I was somewhat reluctant when I received this Vankyo wireless mini projector, because I wasn’t familiar w/ the brand name. But boy was I pleasantly surprised.
Not saying anything bad about the other projector, but this one far exceeds it. The first thing I was impressed w/ was the weight of this projector, it practically weighs nothing, it’s so light. I love how easy it was to setup and connect to my laptop and tablet. Again, I use this when we go camping and we were able to find an old screen that someone was going to throw away, I made some adjustments to hang it on the side of our camper and w/ a small table this projector is a hit. The ability to focus is so much easier and FAR better than the older model that we had. I love the way Vankyo had this packaged and we saved the box and use it to transport when we go, it is an amazing mini projector and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I've been on the lookout for a portable projector that balances quality and convenience, and the Vankyo Leisure 470 NEO Portable HD Projector has truly hit the mark. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell that it was designed with user simplicity in mind. The packaging includes only the essentials: a power adapter, an HDMI cable, a remote control, and a simple cleaning cloth with cotton swabs. It does not include a carrying case or storage device. It’s minimalistic but ensures you have everything you need to get started right away.
Setting up the Leisure 470 NEO was a breeze, as simple as plug and play. The on-board menu is very user friendly and intuitive. The projector's lightweight and compact design make it incredibly easy to move around, perfect for both indoor movie nights and outdoor gatherings. Despite its portability, it doesn't compromise on performance. The HD resolution delivers a crisp and clear picture from as small as 37” up to 200” with some degrading in picture quality of course the larger you get. But it does have vibrant colors and sharp details that are impressive for a projector in this price range.
One of the standout features of the Leisure 470 NEO is its versatility in connectivity. Whether I'm streaming from my laptop via the HDMI cable, casting from my smartphone, or using a USB drive, the projector handles it all effortlessly. The multiple ports and compatibility with various devices make it a flexible choice for any setup. If you are not able to wirelessly cast from your phone due to limited wifi, you can simply connect via usb-c to usb-a cable and cast directly from your phone. One huge note, the projector does not allow streaming from major platforms with copyright infringements.
The image quality is stellar, especially considering its portability. Even in a moderately lit room, the projection remains bright and clear. The focus and keystone adjustments are straightforward, allowing for a perfect picture without much fuss. It's an ideal solution for casual movie watchers and presentations alike. I have even used it for moderate gaming on the go and it stood the test admirably.
Sound quality is another area where the Leisure 470 NEO shines. The built-in speakers provide decent audio output for an immersive viewing experience, but I also appreciate the option to connect external speakers for a more robust sound via the av output, 3.5mm headphone jack, or even connect a Bluetooth speaker. This flexibility ensures that I can tailor the audio setup to suit different environments and preferences.
The included remote control is a handy addition, allowing me to adjust settings and switch inputs without having to get up. The remote is very similar to a fire tv remote so it is very easy to adapt to and use.
In conclusion, the Vankyo Leisure 470 NEO Portable HD Projector is a fantastic investment for anyone in need of a versatile, high-quality projector with its variable pros and cons depending on what you are in the market for:
Pros: compact, portable, versatile multifunction connectivity, HD resolution
Cons: no carrying case or storage, does not stream copyright platforms (Netlix, Youtube TV, ect.)
If you're looking for a reliable projector for both entertainment and work, the Leisure 470 NEO is definitely worth considering.

The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo 720p wireless mini projector has made for a ton of fun in our neighborhood! There's nothing better than sitting around a fire in the backyard, watching some of your favorite movies with family and friends and with this new Mini Projector it is even better! We were able to get everything setup in just a few minutes, and just project it onto the back of our house. Let me tell you, it is so awesome! The picture is amazing, and has no issues stretching out to about 80" where we use it and still being bright and crisp! The remote works very well, even thought it is fairly basic. The only downside for me on this is the speaker system, it is very flat and tinny and at higher volumes becomes very distorted very quickly. Don't let that dissuade you however, because overall this projector is an amazing value and makes a great addition to your entertainment repertoire. The sound quality can easily be resolved with the addition of some Bluetooth speakers, which is exactly what we have done!

The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo, is a compact and affordable 720P wireless mini projector, it is popular to me for its promise of delivering a cinematic experience in a portable package. I believe this to be true because of a few features and how easily it was to hook up. To get through the set up and unbox, there isn't much to it. a power adapter, an HDMI cable, a remote control, and a user manual. The projector itself is surprisingly small and lightweight, measuring roughly 6.7 x 6.7 x 2.7 inches and weighing just over 2 pounds. Its compact size makes it incredibly portable and easy to carry around.
The design is minimalist, with a white matte finish and rounded edges. It has a simple layout, featuring a lens, a focus wheel, and control buttons on top. The back panel houses the ports, including two HDMI ports, a USB port, an audio jack, and a power input. You can use a flat surface covered in white or projection screen paint. The best is a screen. No matter the projector, a screen is always the best option. It does have a built-in speaker is functional but lacks the power and depth for a truly immersive cinematic experience, some independent sound would also be better. To conclude, If you're looking for an affordable projector for watching movies, TV shows, or playing games in a dimly lit environment, the Leisure 470 Neo is worth considering. However, if you need a projector for bright rooms or professional use, you might want to explore other options with higher brightness and better overall performance. This is quick and fun. Not professional and cinematic.

A Fun Projector for the Kids

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo portable HD projector is great, especially for fun with the kids, both indoors and outdoors, with some caveats to keep in mind.
First, the good. This device is easy to work with, it has an HDMI input and also allows wireless casting. It also has automatic keystoning, which allows you to ensure that your image is the exact correct shape. This is huge. If you have to have the projector at a slight angle or just don't want to fuss with it. Casting is very easy, and works great.
The only real downsides are that it is only 720p, so on the low end of HD. It also does not include batteries for the remote control, which can be frustrating if you are buying this and thinking it will be ready to go.
All of that said, this projector is particularly good for cartoons, but will work with just about any source. Playing fast-paced video games on it wasn't as pleasant as watching cartoons or anything. I would just consider this a projector meant for use with kids.
Lastly, keep in mind that the brightness level is only 140 lumens, so you definitely can't project outdoors except on dark nights.

I have tested my share of Pico projectors and non-pico and I would easily classify this as a non-pico as it is much brighter than pico projectors usually are at 140 lumens and they are not as feature-rich as this one is. I love wirelessly displaying my phones screen to this projector using industry-standard Mirracasting wireless display technology. The resolution and brightness are it's real only weak points but this projector is perfect for projecting movies for movie night for kids or an ideal use would be for a DJ or performer. I could also see a use for this at weddings and parties for projecting the bride and groom information on the floor or, if you're a DJ or performer, perhaps project your logo on the floor. This projector also has Bluetooth so you can easily add a Bluetooth enabled speaker to really add to a pleasant movie experience. You will have to be in a somewhat dark environment because 140 Lumens does have it's limits but if you know that going in, you are going to come away very impressed with this little guy.

Our experience started with a family gathering. We wanted to share family pictures and found that picture frames and TV's were simple not cost effective. They also lacked the ease of viewing we were looking for. Then we found this gem. It was really easy to set up and use. It brought an extra dimension to sharing our family moments. We then used it in our kid's room, and they really loved it. Games and videos play great with just the right amount of volume.
It's versatile enough for everyday use and really shines at family gatherings. For the price, it has tremendous value.

THIS…. Is the Vankyo Leisure 470 neo, what has turned into a really nice portable projector. Coming in at 720p and projecting around 80” depending on how you place it, I have sort of fallen in love with this projector despite its less than headline features. Here is what the Leisrue 470 nero is - an easy, lightweight portable projector that supports HDMI and airplay. This is a great product for casual uses such as light gaming, casting a video in the backyard and light uses. This isn’t the premier projector with an ultra high resolution packed with features, and the price reflects that as well.
This projector comes with screen mirror, which is great if you have an iPad or MacBook that you can cast using it, if not then the projector will mirror your phone which includes shrinking the 80” screen down to the aspect of your phone. Some might find this annoying, I really struggled to love it in the beginning due to some of the bugs and lack of sound, but, when it does work it is really cool to throw up a YouTube video in my backyard without having to have any real infrastructure other than darkness and an outlet. I primarily used hdmi from my laptop, this never gave me any error and used the screen to its full capacity. You will not have any connectivity features from the projector, and you will need to use hdmi, usb or mirror from another device for all media.
This projector has about 120 lumens and no ‘adjustment’ features from the bulb. This means that it’s going to project exactly where you are pointing it and it needs to be pretty dark, most of the time I was able to get the room dark enough, but if you are planning on using this in a room with generally any large light source, then it will be washed out. The speakers are… there! They produce sound, and are certainly a mono speaker. Not the worst, but I used my laptop speakers when projecting off of it. It still comes with a mount to hang it up from the ceiling if that’s what you choose to do!
All in all, I did like this projector and will keep using it around the house for light use and maybe for some fun camping - but it isn’t going to trade out my short throw anytime soon. This is really perfect for a kids room, general gaming and I can seriously see this for a business setting. When it does work, and it reliably does, it’s awesome! So it is really just knowing the limits of the projector! The best part of the whole thing is, when you buy this at Best Buy… you never have to worry about getting the wrong projector, they have this model and several other variations as well to fit all needs and settings. Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out!

Tiny Projector With Compromises Everywhere
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo is a tiny, Wi-Fi capable projector. By tiny, the footprint is half of a normal sheet of paper with a height of about 3.5 decks of cards. It's not going into a pocket, well, maybe on some large cargo pants, but it is eminently portable. Comes with a power cable, HDMI cable, and remote with everything nicely wrapped in a bunch of plastic.
The projector itself is pretty simple, you've got physical buttons that allow accessing everything and the menu system felt intuitive to me. Pretty much, you can switch inputs (2 HDMI and one AV input), do keystone correction, or connect to a smartphone. You can also flip the input which is nice for rear screen projection (my favorite way to use projectors). There's also some status you can look at. I experimented with both HDMI and wireless screen mirroring using my Android phone. For that, I've got a USB-C to HDMI adapter which the HDMI cable plugs into then into the first input on the projector.
The projector is specced as 720p but can downconvert 1080p. Picture quality was ok. Not great but acceptable for something mobile if you're outdoors or just watching a tv show or movie on the go. I would not use this as a business/presentation projector - for text it never seemed to be sharp enough no matter how I adjusted the throw - focus is fixed. Similarly, as I wouldn't use this for reading or presenting text, I also wouldn't use this for gaming unless it was really simple kid like stuff. The contrast ratio and brightness are also pretty low so for most people, this will only be useable in a dark room which may be inconvenient at times. Because yeah, you can take it around anywhere, but you can only really use it at night or when you can darken the area you're in. Rear projection is a technique I've used for relatively lower brightness projectors in a room that's otherwise daylit. What you do is keep the room behind the projector screen (typically a frosted transparent film like a shower curtain) dark but in front of the screen can be lit. However, one typically fixes the projector in place and so you'd likely want a higher res, higher contrast, or both for such use as you're typically not moving it around.
Sound also sucks from the projector. As you're likely playing or streaming content from something else capable of sound (I think it's unlikely people are lugging around a standalone dvd player to use with this), you're probably better off having the sound come from there. Unfortunately, you may not be able to have that happen with either the HDMI connection or it's screen mirroring unless your device has as special mode to also play local sound.
Speaking of mirroring, this is another failure point of the Leisure 470 Neo. It works, but it's clearly not Chromecast. Maybe Miracast. Essentially, while HDMI let's me output my phone screen or replicate it, the mirroring just replicates the screen. Which means your phone must be on the entire time you're playing content to the projector. So, make sure you also have your phone charger handy. Also, because it's not a Chromecast receiver, certain apps don't actually let you mirror video wirelessly but they will if you use the USB-C to HDMI adapter. So yes, portable, but also yes, you still need to carry around a lot of cables.
Then, the other portability hit is no battery. 3.3lbs is great. That's the weight of many "light" laptops and even Chromebooks. I'd gladly double that and maybe extend the width a bit for 3.3lbs of battery. That plus being a Chromecast receiver would almost make this perfect - the poor speakers and brightness/view limitations would be acceptable. Instead however, we're stuck with a bunch of compromises that were made just to be able to say this is among the most compact projectors out there and it doesn't seem worth it.

This projector works really well! We did movie night with friends and no problem with the picture. I would have given it a five star, but the sound was not as good, we will need to use different speakers
