Great Value for a Compact Projector

This projector is fantastic. It's compact and sleek, making it easy to fit anywhere at home or even take on the go. Setup was super straightforward and took just a few minutes. The picture quality is smooth and clear, and it performs better than I expected for the price. Everything works as it should—no issues so far. If you're looking for an affordable, reliable projector, this is a solid choice.

    Tiny Projector With Compromises Everywhere

The Vankyo Leisure 470 Neo is a tiny, Wi-Fi capable projector. By tiny, the footprint is half of a normal sheet of paper with a height of about 3.5 decks of cards. It's not going into a pocket, well, maybe on some large cargo pants, but it is eminently portable. Comes with a power cable, HDMI cable, and remote with everything nicely wrapped in a bunch of plastic. The projector itself is pretty simple, you've got physical buttons that allow accessing everything and the menu system felt intuitive to me. Pretty much, you can switch inputs (2 HDMI and one AV input), do keystone correction, or connect to a smartphone. You can also flip the input which is nice for rear screen projection (my favorite way to use projectors). There's also some status you can look at. I experimented with both HDMI and wireless screen mirroring using my Android phone. For that, I've got a USB-C to HDMI adapter which the HDMI cable plugs into then into the first input on the projector. The projector is specced as 720p but can downconvert 1080p. Picture quality was ok. Not great but acceptable for something mobile if you're outdoors or just watching a tv show or movie on the go. I would not use this as a business/presentation projector - for text it never seemed to be sharp enough no matter how I adjusted the throw - focus is fixed. Similarly, as I wouldn't use this for reading or presenting text, I also wouldn't use this for gaming unless it was really simple kid like stuff. The contrast ratio and brightness are also pretty low so for most people, this will only be useable in a dark room which may be inconvenient at times. Because yeah, you can take it around anywhere, but you can only really use it at night or when you can darken the area you're in. Rear projection is a technique I've used for relatively lower brightness projectors in a room that's otherwise daylit. What you do is keep the room behind the projector screen (typically a frosted transparent film like a shower curtain) dark but in front of the screen can be lit. However, one typically fixes the projector in place and so you'd likely want a higher res, higher contrast, or both for such use as you're typically not moving it around. Sound also sucks from the projector. As you're likely playing or streaming content from something else capable of sound (I think it's unlikely people are lugging around a standalone dvd player to use with this), you're probably better off having the sound come from there. Unfortunately, you may not be able to have that happen with either the HDMI connection or it's screen mirroring unless your device has as special mode to also play local sound. Speaking of mirroring, this is another failure point of the Leisure 470 Neo. It works, but it's clearly not Chromecast. Maybe Miracast. Essentially, while HDMI let's me output my phone screen or replicate it, the mirroring just replicates the screen. Which means your phone must be on the entire time you're playing content to the projector. So, make sure you also have your phone charger handy. Also, because it's not a Chromecast receiver, certain apps don't actually let you mirror video wirelessly but they will if you use the USB-C to HDMI adapter. So yes, portable, but also yes, you still need to carry around a lot of cables. Then, the other portability hit is no battery. 3.3lbs is great. That's the weight of many "light" laptops and even Chromebooks. I'd gladly double that and maybe extend the width a bit for 3.3lbs of battery. That plus being a Chromecast receiver would almost make this perfect - the poor speakers and brightness/view limitations would be acceptable. Instead however, we're stuck with a bunch of compromises that were made just to be able to say this is among the most compact projectors out there and it doesn't seem worth it.

    Awesome little projector!

I have been eyeing various projectors for our home for a few years now. I would just never pull the trigger because I have been wanting to get a 4K or maybe even an 8K projector. However, when I saw the opportunity to get this projector I jumped at the chance. My family & I could not be happier that I did! As soon as it arrived I opened up the packaging and we watched some YouTube videos using my iPhone as the source as we ate dinner that night. I had ordered a 120" projector which we can use both indoors and outdoors but it was from an online only retailer and it (not shockingly) arrived a day or two later than my membership benefits said that it would even though I am just 30 minutes away from a distribution center for that online only retailer. Anyway, so Friday night we watched YouTube videos just with it projecting against the wall in our dining room. And on Saturday night we watched the WWE King & Queen of the Ring PLE using the projector with our new 120" screen and one of our soundbars as well as a handheld gaming PC as the source since I had dropped and broken my iPhone and my iPhone was at the store being repaired. Watching the WWE PLE/PPV was super awesome and even romantic because we made it one of our weekly date nights. We had a ton of fun and we cannot wait to use it again. For an inexpensive projector you really cannot go wrong. Sure, it isn't going to be a 4K or 8K or IMAX experience but that isn't the price point of this projector. This projector delivers in spades for the price that it is. We could not be happier having this projector now.

This projector works really well! We did movie night with friends and no problem with the picture. I would have given it a five star, but the sound was not as good, we will need to use different speakers

Do not buy projectors from best buy

This device will not focus from a reasonable distance from the screen (10 ft). You have to physically move the projector to 6ft away to get a decent image. Then best buy charges me $20 to return the item as a restocking fee.

We really appreciate your feedback to make this item better. I would like to present our deepest apologies for all the inconvenience.

Here are some tips for you to improve image quality:

      1. You can press the focus buttons on the remote to sharpen the image focus until the blurry image becomes clear.
      2. Keep the projector and the wall/screen at a relatively close distance to get a 60-80 inches screen. This screen size is most recommended in terms of image quality.
      3. Make sure the projector is placed horizontally on a flat surface in a dark environment and the wall/screen is clean and white.
