I have had this product for a few months now and there is nothing bad to say about it. It does its job perfectly fine. The only downfall of it is that you need a computer to download your recordings. i got it during the deal of the day so the price for a dash cam with a rear camera was spot on!

I got this as a "deal of the day" for a great price, and it was totally worth it. It fits right over your existing rear view mirror and gives you a great picture of your drive. It has a longer learning curve, and a ton of features. The most important thing is that it gives you a great wide angle, crystal clear picture of your drive.

Great value for the price! I love this dash cam compares to the one I previously owned. The video quality is good and many other functions of this Dashcam are awesome! Especially love the emergency recording and parking monitor. Feel safer while driving!

    Happy but...

I'm very happy, so far, with my purchase of the Vantop HF612L but it turns out that just yesterday a vehicle hit me on the back of myy car and as I removed the camera and into my home and to my pc, every single file had been deleted, more specifically, recorded over because of the normal handling of taking it down from the rearview mirror and into my home as the camera registered those movements as "accidents". Luckily, I had pointed my cellphone to the camera beforehand to record one of the videos before removing the camera, but this shouldn't have happened. There must be a way to make sure some of the videos are marked as 'crucial', so to speak, to prevent them from being erased or recorded over.

I was using the same model for 3 years on my car. Reliable and solid and working without any issue. Because of that performance, I purchased this for my new car and totally disappointed. The camera started malfunctioning after 2 weeks. It stopped recording in the middle of the ride. Most of the time I need to make sure it is running or not. IF not running, I had to unplug and restart. but still it wont work for 10 min. The main drawback is the battery. It last for long time if the camera is stuck. So I purchased one more camera and fix on my car for real recording.

At best it did exactly what you bought it for. At its last moments it failed to function and turn on. It was working great. It recorded front and back, recorded while it was parked. It never drained my battery like some reviews complained. I had it hard wired so it was continuous. In late June I started noticing that it wouldn’t turn in when the car turned on. I had to manually start it. Later it started requiring me to hold the power button to reset the camera and restart to turn it on. Now it won’t even repond to the button. The manufacturer will not respond. With all said however, if you get the extended warranty, I’d say this camera is worth it.

Good as a Dashcam. Not useable as a video mirror.

Installation: Installed both front & rear cameras in a BMW M240i. Installation was easy, all components worked first time, right out of the box. The mirror unit attached firmly to my existing rear-view. The rear camera was installed inside the car, at the top of the rear window. Not hardwired, powered from lighter socket. With the included GPS adapter connected, the unit displays & records speed in either mph or kph. GPS location is also recorded, of course. Setup: The front camera can be used in either 2k or 4k. However, if 4k is selected, the rear camera records in 1080p only. I set both front & rear cameras to 2.5k, recording to a SanDisk Max Endurance 128gb SD card. Video Performance: There is no need for 4k. At the 2.5k setting, recorded video is crisp, clear, & has good color/exposure. Street signs, license plates, and all details within the camera's range are clearly visible. Although the mirror crops both the front & rear view to fit the 12 inch screen (you can manually change the view by scrolling the screen), both cameras record a full, panoramic video record so you see the entire image on playback. You can view and play back recorded video and/or photos on the mirror screen. If you do choose to use 4k on the front camera, the quality is comparable to any other 4k dashcam on the market. I also own a 4k Nextbase 622GW dashcam on another vehicle, & I see no difference between the 4k video produced by either camera. Downside: If you had hoped to use the rear camera as a video rear-view mirror, forget it. In daylight, the rear video image is dim (even at it's maximum brightness setting), and reflections from inside & outside the vehicle make it unusable. At night, the image is overexposed, and headlights & streetlights "bloom" so badly you can't see what's happening behind you. I tried for a week to adjust to the night time image quality, & finally gave up and switched the unit back to a standard mirror. The good news is that as a regular mirror, this unit works well, day or night. The only minor issue is that the edges of the mirror are beveled in a way that causes "beading" of reflected light at night time, so that the mirror appears to be edged in tiny LED's. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Conclusion: You can buy the Vantop H612T for about $140.00 currently at BestBuy. At this price, it's a decent deal as a front & rear dashcam. Even at it's normal $170.00 price, the features and video quality are the equal of most competing units. It installs easily, has good video quality & works reliably. The only drawback is that it doesn't function as well as a video rear view mirror as I had hoped, but it works as a sharp, clear 12 inch standard rear view, and you are buying this primarily as a dash camera, after all. It will serve you well for that purpose, as long as you understand it's limitations. I will be keeping this unit.

This product is okay. It gets confusing to use when it is on because you can see two images at once. One image is what you see from your mirror, the other image is what you see from your camera. You also need to be careful to determine if your front camera is on, or if your back camera is on. Again, this is confusing because you can actually see you mirror's image with a camera overlay image mixed into the view. The good part is the camera can be turned off to cut any confusion. I recommend only turning the camera on when it will be used to park.

This is a 1 year review. TLDR: Get a protection plan of more than 1 year. While it was working, it did its job. This was on my 2022 toyota sienna so we traveled often. No problems with heat or the system overheating while driving 9+ hours nonstop during the day or when the car is parked during hot summer days. Both front and rear cams have different mp4 recorded file. Transferring them is as easy as taking out the microsd card, put it in your PC and downloading it. The video quality is compressed just as most, if not all "2k" or "4k" dash cams are but still better than lower rez dash cams. Don't expect gopro quality. The screen is quite dim when driving during the day but your eyes eventually adjust and the reflective mirror becomes less noticeable. After installation, took me about 3 to 4 hours before I stopped noticing my kid's reflection on the rear view mirror and began seeing the digital view itself, if that make sense. The screen while driving at night is fine. As the sun sets, there's alot of noise that starts showing up from the rear camera but this is expected. If there's no vehicle behind you with their headlights on, the rear camera wont pick anything up but its still better than using the manual rear view mirror. The front camera works fine at night as long as your front headlights are on. Adjusting the view via touchscreen can be cumbersome and takes some time. Around May 2023, the rear camera started acting up. Not sure if the sun finally "damaged" it? Idk. Initially I thought it was the system itself because the screen began to "flicker" and had horizontal lines running across the screen like an old analog tv, however when I checked the front camera, it was fine. Then a month later, the whole thing just died.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot.

      1. Confirm if the power supply of the car charger is always on. Plug it into the cigarette lighter. The light will flash if the supply is poor.
      2. Take out of the SD card and unplug the power cable. Then take the dashcam indoors and charge it with a 5V/3A adapter and a MINI USB cable for an hour to see if it can be turned on.
      3. Use a pin to reset the device directly. The reset hole is behind the camera. Then please enter Settings, choose factory settings to set the device to default.
      4. Unplug the rear camera kit to see if the front camera works well.

Also, please check the USB port and the charging port, is there anything unusual?

The mirror is awesome but is is a little too heavy and keeps pulling the mounting plate off of the windshield. I tried three different types of adhesive including the one that came with the mirror. Aside from that it works great.

Got it from deal of the day. One of the best choice and product i have bought in recent time, if you car doesn't have a back-up camera, you need this. this is ultimate. Very nice video quality and its provides a broader view., you can adjust the entire front and back camera angles . Also the voice control is excellent.

Nice dash cam but i have had 2 of these and both times after a few months the unit comes apart. I tried to put them back together and it comes apart again after a couple days. Also the mirror cam is top heavy on the mirror i had to constantly adjust it to the keep the correct view on the road. One part i did like about it was seeing the live feed from the rear camera.

    1. Screen protector it comes with is sticky and scratches off by just scrolling through the different screens. 2. I wanted to modernize my older car with backup camera but this is not the solution. 3. The front camera is not adjustable from the screen so when I tilt the screen towards me and away from most glare, the front camera is not really pointing straight ahead and filming what is needed.

Works well and was easy to install. Quality of picture using 2K + 2K is okay. You have to change the brightness when switching between day and night time. Very easy to access files and review. Unless it is hardwired, the internal battery only keeps it running for a few minutes after you shut off engine. I have beem using for a month.
