This is one of the coolest Steelbooks I've ever seen hands down! Glad to own it. However, be warned that although I enjoy this movie and our family has a good time with it, it is a somewhat different take on the Venom/Eddie Brock character and the movie's definitely flawed. I still find myself laughing a lot and enjoying it despite the flaws but not everyone is going to enjoy this movie. I tried to give 3 stars but had to bump it up to four because of how many times I've watched it; its clearly a guilty pleasure at this point.

I was really nervous when Sony announced that they were going to make Venom a stand alone movie with out Spider-man but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really liked Venom! Tom Hardy did an admirable job playing Eddie Brock and Venom. The internal dialogue between these two is pretty funny! Action scenes are pretty well done and the plot is decent enough. If you are a Venom fan, you should for sure check it out! Oh, stay through till the end credits!

So since spiderman isn't in it, they do have to change some things around with the story but it still stays pretty true to the original content. The actual story however is kind of sluggish and really sometimes feel very "fantastic 4-ish". Original not Fan4stic. Other than that theres good action and the banter between Eddy and Venom is fun. Its a good enough movie for what it is, and im sure if marvel gets a hold of it with spiderman they will make it better.

Although I'm a huge Marvel fan, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this movie. There was just something about the previews that didn't strike me as "OO Wow!! That looks awesome!!". My 9 y/o son begged me to go see it before it left the theater and so I took him as a reward one day and left VERY happy. It held my interest throughout, made me jump a couple times, laugh SEVERAL times, and was action packed. I definitely recommend to fellow Marvel fans!!

This movie had such mixed reviews, some more so on the lower side and I honestly cannot see why because it was such an awesome time especially with Tom Hardy as the main star, And all the Venom comic book action going on. It was a must see, must own in my opinion. Plus this steelbook art. Absolutely awesome design! Can not wait for the sequel. I hope they glimpse Spidey in it since they’re all part of the same ownership of Marvel now.

I'm trying to get direct deposit from my paycheck straight to MARVEL, because they consistently create movies that compel me to spend. The character development took a little too long, yet left nothing to infer. Very well acted, written, and directed as I believe that this invasion force, (possibly) could play into the whole Marvel universe at some point later... Imagine how these symbiotes could be an enemy to the next Avengers generation...

After Watching Tom Hardy play the role of Ronnie and Reggie Kray in the film Legends. I happened across this film and have to say for it being a Marvel film they couldn’t have casted a better actor to play the Role of Eddie Brock much better than who they casted as Eddie Brock in Spider Man 3. For those who are fans of the comic book films this has to be part of any Comic book adapted film aficionados collection.

Even though reviews were not kind to this movie, it did well at the box office. It’s pretty good and it’s marvel so things are done a certain way. No where as near as fancy as Avengers or the other movies in the marvel cinematic universe, but still good. If you like sci fi then you definitely will enjoy it. The 4K is the best this movie will look so if you have the tv and equipment, by all means get this version. Highly recommend!

This was a solid superhero movie. Not as good as an MCU release, but better than anything DC has come up with. Telling a Venom story without Spiderman is tricky, at best. Tom Hardy is a great actor, probably better than what they gave him to work with. The CGI is fantastic, and when it's full Venom on screen, the movie is at best. Michelle Williams is not too good here, in an awfully scripted romance. The villain is subpar. Lots of attempts at humor, about 75% land. Looking forward to the sequel being better.

I went to see this while it was still in Theatres. Let me tell you, this is better on a 4K with HDR even if it's not the best brand (Westinghouse). The movie, although it does not follow the comic book, is awesome. If you like superhero movies, which in the comic book Venom is not, you need to see this movie. Venom the character is most definitely funny but the movie itself is just awesome, directing, acting and story line.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE some superhero films but they have been so repeative lately. I thought this film had some good laughs and a good storyline and plot. I actually didn't have high expectations and was really glued to the screen from start to finish. I grew up watching Venomn and it was awesome to see him in his own movie. Would recommend it for sure. A great buy.

Venom's reviews completely misunderstood Venom. The prospect of a movie starring the alien symbiote made famous for attaching itself to Spider-Man has been there since the late 1990s when Sony acquired the Spider-Man movie rights, and after many false starts - including a spinoff of The Amazing Spider-Man - it's finally here. Tom Hardy is Eddie Brock in Reuben Fleischer's Venom movie, which tells a new, Spider-Man-less origin and looks to set up a whole new shared universe of Spidey villains.

Venom is fun; plain and simple. While not a perfect film, it certainly uses the characters and action to present a compelling story. It's beginnings are where there could be some improvement. There must be a way to introduce the main characters and set the plot in motion without dragging down the narrative. Venom's first 20 minutes are quite dull. Once Eddie is sent to the stereotypical evil scientist's lair the movie jumps into high gear and never slows. Comical acting; a solid superhero film.

I guess anti-heroes are in right now. What shocks me most about this is, it is the far inferior yet optimistic version of this year’s Upgrade. What really fails in this movie is the villain. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this. The initially unapproachable relationship between the star and symbiote grows on me until it feels like an extra appendage. Unfortunately, this one will live low on the MCU pile, but am suspicious that it might become a frequent rewatch. Only time will tell.

I enjoyed the film in theaters and enjoyed rewatching it on Blu-ray. The special features made it even more worthwhile of a purchase. Still wish there was a director's cut version like with some home releases (Batman V Superman comes to mind...). One note though, if you haven't seen it before beware of a spoilerific special features ad right before the movie starts. I'd skip the previews the first time around.

I watched this with my SO, son, and brother-in-law. Very interesting take on Venom. I am not rating the movie here. That’s what IMDb and other places are for. I paid $27.99 plus tax for this. I keep the digital copy and then sell off the BD by itself and the 4K with the case to make back some of my expense. It is a movie. It comes packaged as a set of the three I mentioned. The artwork is pretty cool. That said, 4 stars because of the price. Sale price would have gotten 5 stars.

Sometimes when movies come out and I try to imagine someone else playing certain parts. This one, I cannot imagine anyone else playing Eddie Brock. Tom Hardy is one of those rare actors who can convincingly act normal and utterly abnormal in 2 different parts seamlessly. Could certain aspects of this movie have been made better? Yes, it isn't perfect, but it is entertaining and a great performance.

Like most steelbooks, there is virtually no difference in content when compared with their normal movie packaging. No extra bonus features or gimmicky toys included. You buy this for presentation and you appreciate it from a collector's perpsective. Buyers often buy these editions to sell at inflated prices later which in itself is annoying. Buy quickly if you really want it as availability always drops.

If anyone wants a good script and movie to watch I would say watch this movie. It's funny and gripping at the same time. Furthermore, this movie will have you wanting the seqeal right away. However you need to get this in 4k because if you don't, you will miss how the director s want you to watch such a good movie, if it's raining and you don't have anything to do, watch it you want be disappointed.
