I called the manufacturer and they're sending me a new unit. I needed a humidifier immediately, so I purchased the cheaper warm vapor product by Vicks, and it never worked either, even after adding salt to the water. I think Vicks is having a QC issue lately. Not hard to believe with this pandemic going on. At least they offered to send me a new one, and I know BB will let me return it if it ultimately doesn't work.

Posted .The type of humidifier you have is an evaporative, which means that the fan in the unit evaporates the water directly into the air. In order to produce output, the wicking filter soaks the water up from the tray. The fan then pushes the water off the filter and evaporates it into the surrounding air. Since the air is being perfectly balanced and not oversaturated, you will not feel or see the moisture. Over time, you will notice the water level in your tank going down, which shows that the unit is working. The only time the unit would run and not use up any water is once the humidity level in the room reaches about 55%. At this point, the air cannot soak up any more water from the filter, so the fan will keep running but the water level will only go down minimally. We hope this information is helpful!
