Just bought this today based on the reviews, got it all hooked up, put my record on it, it spinned for maybe 5 seconds the automatic feature didn't even touch the album. Did the troubleshooting to ensure the the rubber band wasn't twisted and connected around the motor correctly. After doing this multiple times a gave up. Will be returning tomorrow.

I’ve had my old record albums stored in my basement for decades. I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of them and kept telling myself (and my wife) that I was going to buy a new turntable one day so I could enjoy them again. After an embarrassing number of years later, I finally got a new turntable. One of my obstacles to buying a new turntable was having to invest in decent speakers so I could fully enjoy the sound quality. This turntable from Victrola quickly resolved that issue. This turntable is Bluetooth compatible, and I have several high quality Bluetooth speakers in my house. Pairing my turntable with the speakers was relatively easy, so I was up and running in short order. Having speakers all around my house allows me to use my turntable in different room, thanks to its portability. I found the setup instructions to be lacking and somewhat vague. The illustrations were hard to decipher at first, but my familiarity with turntables helped me to git ‘er done. If I hadn’t already known that the turntable belt had to wrap around the motor spindle, it would have taken some head scratching. I think better illustrations would be helpful for first time users. Once the setup was complete, everything else is plainly covered in the manual. After the setup, the most difficult part was deciding which of my many vintage, long forgotten albums would I play first. Kind of Blue, by Miles Davis, obviously. After placing the disc on the turntable, I made sure the presets were on 12” and 33RPM (they were the default settings). Then, the hard part… Not really, I just pressed the PLAY button and three seconds later, the dulcet tones of arguably the finest Jazz album ever recorded were gracing my living room. On my turntable from forty years ago, I had to physically lift the tonearm and place it on the album. Not with this turntable. A simple press of the PLAY button and off we go. Now, if you wanted to listen to a particular track on the album, you still have to manually move the tonearm to the track you want to hear. This turntable offers a button that raises the tonearm off of the album (basically, a PAUSE button.) another press of the same button lowers the tonearm back to the album. The repeat button provides continuous play of the album or 45RPM. In today’s age of digital music that may not be a big deal, but for the generation who grew up with record players, it’s a welcome feature. Since I move the turntable from room to room, a locking device on the tonearm to secure it in place would have been nice. When moving the turntable for whatever reason, be sure to reattach the stylus cover. I have no idea what a new stylus costs these days, but a quality stylus was quite expensive back in the day. I would like to have seen a location to store the stylus cover, like there’s a location to store the adapter for 45s. Don’t forget to lower the dust cover when not in use. Dust is the enemy of precision electronics. In the end, I have to say that it is a real treat to have a turntable again! I can’t wait to go to my friend’s vintage music store to grab some new music. This turntable is a nice entry level turntable that I highly recommend. The ultimate in portable, flexible, simple vinyl playing. It made me rethink where I can put a turntable. Having a party outside, yep put the turntable on the deck. Want vinyl in your bedroom? Out in the garage? This can do it all. This is a good solid turntable. Not anywhere near audiophile, just serviceable. There are turntables at this price point that are far better. But none are as simple to use or as flexible as this one. The sound is good, more dependent on the speakers you use than the turntable itself. I connected this to very expensive and very inexpensive Bluetooth speakers - it worked and sounded solid with both sets. There is something important to remember - tracking force for the stylus. It can't be adjusted with this turntable. And you want to avoid super heavy tracking (it will ruin your records). Great news, this tracks at 3 grams - perfectly safe for vinyl. Setup is super easy, basically take it out of the box, remove packing material, slip the belt on (pictures in the instructions show how to do this), and plug it in. The only thing I didn't like, pressing that button on the front with weird sequences to start pairing mode. It didn't always work as described. Speaker volume has to be adjusted on the speaker or with the speaker app. The turntable has no app or ability to change volume. It simply plays records. I had trouble pairing it with some Bang and Olufsen speakers. And be aware, if you have more than one Bluetooth speaker around, it will pair with a random speaker, and you can't tell which one it paired with until you start playing a record. There are two motors - one for the platter and a second for moving the tone arm. That's a good thing, the platter doesn't slow down when you press stop. Fully automatic works amazingly well - gently setting the needle down at the lead in track. I like this turntable a lot. Mostly because it can go places I never imagined.

Tried to set up Bluetooth but couldn’t pair with speaker. Best Buy returned item with no problem.

This Victrola Automatic Turntable is an aesthetically pleasing, sleek, modern take on classic vinyl players. Sits beautifully in any surrounding setup as a modernized version of a classic appearing unit with the sound and playback features enthusiasts such as myself are craving out of a vinyl player. This unit features fully automatic operation which means the tonearm moves on its own, reducing any need for manual intervention during playback – this helps and makes things easier for anyone not fully fledged in the vinyl realm. The built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows me to wirelessly stream music to my external devices such as a large room amp, Bluetooth speakers, or my headphones. It should be noted that there’s no wired headphone jack which may make a difference to some as it might be nice to have that wired headphone jack if you prefer to use wired headphones, but in today’s market I’m not sure that anyone is without Bluetooth headphones. This turntable can handle 33 1/3 or 45 RPM records speeds, doesn’t rock 78’s so take note of that if you’re looking to play those as well. The built in RCA outputs are simple typical stereo output for connecting to your stereo system, but again, who’s not doing everything with Bluetooth these days? I really like the design of this unit. It has a simple, sophisticated design. It has a somewhat minimalistic design, but very sleek and classy looking so it blends well most modern home entertainment setups. Sound reproduction and quality coming out of this unit are top notch and really reproduce every bit of the music’s intended fidelity to perfection. The unit is constructed well of aluminum base and has a smooth, durable belt drive to ensure many years of worry-free durability to keep the tunes flowing without concern for any technical complications. I’ve really enjoyed this unit since adding it to my system and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to add the true sound quality and perfection of vinyl playback to their home audio setup.

The bluetooth wont pair easy. I feel like we all tried and it paired by accident. And the belt is very weak or in my case missing.

If I could give a less than one star - I would! This turntable is a piece of dirt! I have purchased two in a week trying to get the bluetooth to work. The headphones and turntable pair ok, but there is no sound coming out.

Bad blue tooth connectivity - returned the item as blue tooth connectivity was the reason I purchased this item as hard wiring in the room I need it for is impossible.

I was excited to get my hands on this because we haven't played records in a while due to a not so great set-up for a record player with wires and speakers. Not that we have an extensive collection, but we do enjoy the sound vinyl produces. Adding to the collection seemed wasteful but now we're excited to go record shopping and add some pieces! Setup is very easy out of the box and the automatic nature of the turntable means that the arm will swing itself into position and lower, so you shouldn't have to touch the arm very often. You will need to manually select the size and speed, which is a simple slider switch. A remote control would be awesome but would likely raise the price point and isn't super critical when using physical media like a record that requires you to go up to the unit anyway when changing the album. But the part I was excited about is the Bluetooth connectivity. Location of the unit has become less important and allows for a lot of flexibility without the need to run wires or have additional speakers. We connected this via BT to our existing sound system and it works great! Just for fun we connected it to a portable BT speaker and it also worked well, so we'll be able to enjoy some records while sitting outside on the deck! Overall, this is a solid turntable that sounds great, is whisper quiet when operating, and allows for maximum flexibility in placement due to the BT feature. Very happy with this and definitely recommend for music lovers and especially those just starting out building a record collection!

If you are new to the world of record players, vinyl LPs and analog music, you might think this Victrola Automatic Turntable is a wonder to behold. But those of us who were around when this was about the only way to listen to recorded music will tell you it is not. To be sure, it does get the job done, in a manner of speaking, It is fully automatic, moving the tone arm and dropping the stylus in the right place with a touch of a button. And If you are not too fussy about music quality it sounds, well, OK. It does not rise much above that level because this thing is surprisingly primitive in some respects. The low-budget belt drive system has a difficult time delivering uniform speeds. That means you end up with a lot of what old school turnables techies would call wow and flutter. It's not terrible but it's there. Even worse, the included Audio-Technica cartidge and stylus are, to be charitable, very much entry-level stuff. (ie, you would be hard pressed to find one less expensive) Audiophiles will happily spend more on this one part than the cost of this entire turntable. Because a better cartridge produces better music. If you have a valuable vinyl collection, you also might think twice before risking it on this very basic turntable. It lacks all of the usual kind of adjustments that help reduce wear and tear on fragile vinyl. Any decent turntable, for example, would be designed so you could control the tracking of the tone arm, with adjustable counterweights to limit how much pressure is exerted on the record. It would also have an anti-skate control to dampen the inward momentum of the stylus as it moves toward the center of the record. The Victrola is entirely preset in this regard. One size fits all. Or at least you hope it does. That said, if you have a hankering to listen to your old LP collection again (it plays 45s too) this Victrola turntable can do it. Just dont expect too much. Any modern digital version of the same song will almost certainly sound better. Using the Bluetooth option, I thought the sound quality was a bit thin and brittle. A little raspy at times. You might get slightly better results using the other optoin: a direct wired connection via the included RCA cables. This approach seemed to produce sound that was a bit cleaner and fuller, but still not great. Unfortuately, such connections are pretty rare these days on standaline Bluetooth speakers (A "line/phono" switch allows the turntable to work with old school receivers and amps or powered speakers) Be aware the Victrola comes with some assembly required. The sturdy aluminium platter is packaged seperately for shipping and must attached by the end user. You also have to loop the rubber drive belt on the platter onto the electric motor capstan. It's not hard but some people don't like dealing with such things. Aesthetically, it's not a bad looking device, a throwback to how most turntables looked in 70's and 80s. It is just a big black plastic platform with soft sound isolating feet. There is a hinged smoked plastic cover that you can close when the record is playing. The only modern touches are buttons to raise and lower the tone arm (manual levers were used in the old days) and lighted ring around the on/off button that glows white or blue, depending on what mode you are usiing to connect to your sound system. There is also built in circuitry that mutes the sound while the tone arm is moving, being raised or lowered. This eliminates the low rumble and popping noise old-school turntable users remember when the tone arm was picked up and set down on the record. In the end, this Victrola is hard to recommend. It is a fairly primitive turntable whose low-end magnetic cartridge and stylus can't produce very good sound and lacks basic tone arm controls to protect your vinyl record collection. There are better options for less money.

Connects to speaker just fine but does not output audio. Troubleshooting steps in the manual say turn up the volume. Gee thanks. Didnt work so I returned it.

It was broken out of the box and had to return. Store out of stock, waiting on new one.

Awful, cheap, feels like it is worth $5, and is always getting stuck.

I just took a trip down memory lane with the help of this Victrola Automatic Turntable. It came well packed but some minor assembly is required. Step by step instructions are included and make it pretty easy to install the aluminum platter on the spindle and attach the drive belt to the motor. Everything else is just carefully removing the protective tape and covers. If you are a true record player enthusiast you have to use the Phono RCA outputs and connect it to a proper stereo amplifier. I connected mine to a Technics Grand Class Amp and some classic Infinity Beta Tower speakers that are still going strong. Keeping it retro, I had to play some vinyl from the 80’s from across the pond, namely The Final Countdown by Europe which just resonates with that era before CDs became mainstream. Another old favorite of mine that bridges the old with the new is Dvorak From the New World Symphony. The sound of these timeless pieces came out as expected, warm and crisp with maybe just a little scratchiness at times, or perhaps I was just imagining how some of my old record players used to sound when the “needle” was worn out or the record was a bit dusty. Also tried it with a couple of bluetooth speakers from Sony, Anker Soundcore and Marshall and certainly noticed the sound becoming more blended together and not as well defined as it was with the Phono stage preamp. The modern touch of convenience is of course the Automatic operation of the arm that lifts off and moves to the beginning of the record with a press of a button. It will also lift and go back when it reaches the end, or you can set it to auto-repeat which will play one side of the record over and over until you stop it. A timer/sleep function would be nice where you can set it up to stop replaying after a couple of hours. All in all, this is an enjoyable vinyl turntable, with a touch of modern technology and convenience that will not break the bank.

Fantastic record player! We got our daughter (14 years old at the time) an entry record player a couple years ago. She loves the warmth and "feel" of the sound of classic records. When the opportunity came for this Victrola Automatic Turntable, I jumped at it. It was a great opportunity for an upgraded record player for her. When we recieved it, I watched her up-pack it. Initial thoughts, this is a quality record player and a good choice for entry level to mid-high end user. Great standard consumer grade quality. As for set-up, it must be pretty easy. I let her go upstairs and within 15 minutes, she had it fully operational. She loved the ease of set-up and ease of use. As an American teenage girl, you should not be shocked to know that she LOVES that one American artist who is dating that one guy who plays for the football team in Kansas City... Well, after HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of continuoius listening to said artist, she LOVES this record player. End of the day, I would reccomend this player. This would make for a great gift for others or as a reward to yourself if you would like to enter into the classic world of old-school records.

I just got my Victrola Automatic Turntable about a week ago and have been testing it out. First off, it's been forever since I’ve even been around a record player, let alone used one. Having this turntable show up brought me back to simpler times—like digging through my dad's endless crates of old albums. Unboxing was easy, especially if you follow the manual. Just be sure to actually read it! In the box, you'll find the turntable, the platter, a 45 adapter, power adapter, and RCA adapter. Setup was pretty simple, though I did struggle a bit when trying to extend the band to the gold post so I could set the turntable in place. Took a few tries, but I finally got it. Once the platter’s on, just plug in the RCA cable in the back and flip the switch to Line or Phono, depending on your setup. Then you’re ready to go! Grab one of your favorite records and gently place it on the turntable. Hit the power button on the front panel. A white ring means it’s connected through the RCA cable, and a blue ring means you’re using Bluetooth—which is super cool! The Bluetooth feature lets you place the Victrola anywhere without worrying about extra cables or wires. I hooked it up to my JBL MA710 receiver via RCA, set it to Phono, and started it up. The play button starts the first track automatically. At first, I thought the up and down buttons were for skipping tracks (I imagined the arm would lift and move forward or back), but it turns out those buttons just lift the arm and return it to its base. There’s also a repeat button that replays the current track, which I think is why I assumed the other buttons were for skipping tracks. You can also change the album size and playback speed with a couple of switches. Overall, I’m loving this turntable. Once I double-checked the manual, it was super easy to use. It’s a great addition to my home theater and audio setup!

The Victrola Automatic has been designed with conveniently located controls, and the RCA cable jacks are easy to access and connect. i haven't owned a turntable for many years, and the automatic I had experience with was an old record changer that played LPs. I use the turntable with home stereo powered speakers which also have TV, CD/DVD and a bluetooth adapter. Although the bluetooth worked during setup, I prefer using the wired connection with some high quality cables. Automatic operation has worked great. To play a selected track, use the tonearm lift button to gently raise the arm so you can manually move it above the spinning disc to the track you want to start playing and press the button again. I'm enjoying the sound and the replacement stylus to fit the AT cartridge is popular and readily available when you need to replace a worn stylus. When I used a strobe test disc to check the speed it was right on 33 1/3. There is a bit on creaking I noticed when the dust cover is raised or lowered. Overall it's an easy to use, modern turntable with a functional looking design.

The Victrola Automatic Bluetooth Turntable model VPT-800 is probably one of the simplest electronic items I’ve ever connected. The platter is the only item to be installed. The manual is very descriptive with pictures describing what to do. It connected with my Bluetooth speakers easily. Each time I turn the turntable on it reconnects to the speakers right away. The Victrola Automatic Bluetooth Turntable has a great feature…repeat. With the repeat button the turntable will just replay the side of the album you are listening to over and over. While you are busy doing the dishes or whatever the turntable just keeps going. Thus, no untimely breaks in music. Nice! One more thing I think is just fabulous, no app required! Two additional items; troubleshooting and support. When I first put the platter on the turntable and pulled the belt over the motor, it wasn’t spinning. It took all of two minutes to take the platter off and figure out the belt had fallen off the platter. Easy fix. Finally, I called customer support. Availability of support is an important factor. I was told to leave a message, and support would return my call. I left a message. I was very pleasantly surprised when I had a return call in less than 30 minutes and the support representative was polite, helpful and knowledgeable.

Assembly was easy and quick. There’s a rubber like material that you need to loop on so that it allows for turning the records. That slipped out a couple times causing the turntable to not function. Another issue was connecting to Bluetooth speakers. Tried 3 different speakers, multiple times, even “forget this device” and trying to connect and it just wouldn’t. I was able to connect to one specific Bluetooth speaker. Connected to speaker with proper wires and that worked fine. The victrola is light in weight and the components such as the arm with the needle and other parts feel low quality. Switches on the top side allow for changing from 33 to 45 rpm. There’s also a power button in front to which it allows to connect to Bluetooth. You can tell it’s trying to connect to Bluetooth because the light changes from white to blue. The play button will cause the arm to lift and automatically move over to the record and play will begin. Press it while it’s playing and the arm lifts and moves back gently to its seated position. There’s a repeat function for those who want continuous play. The cover should be lifted by both sides so you have even wear and tear and support. While it seemed of low quality, I would recommend it to those who want to travel light, don’t want to carry heavier, more expensive equipment, and to anyone wanting something with an easy setup (providing the speaker you have is friendly with it).
