A Blast from the Past

I grew up with my parents listening to records at home. Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, Christmas music, Journey, etc. I am obsessed with music in my daily life. My family has subs for Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music, but there is something special about being able to hold your favorite albums. I was looking for a great record player, and this Victrola knocked it out of the park.
/ Setup /
Setup was a breeze, take of the protective wrapping, plug it in, read the little quick start guide, and remember to take off the needle protector. I was a bit worried the first time I went to place a record on it, it seemed like it was not going to fit, but that is just the style. I think it looks great with some of the ends of the record spinning off the player. Connecting a Bluetooth speaker was also simple, but honestly the built-in speaker is plenty loud and clear to fill up our living room.
// Sound //
Let me preface this by saying that I am not an audiophile so I am sure there are systems you can pay 10x the amount for that would give you clearer sound. That being said, for someone like myself that spends all day listening to music in quality headphones, car, and through a nice soundbar; the sound that is being produced by this little player and the built-in speaker is terrific. All 3 of my sons really like it, and my wife has even started going out and buying some older records she enjoyed. The sound is warm, clear, and has no problem filling our home. We started listening to Christmas music now that we are off for Thanksgiving break, and the Vince Guaraldi Trio – A Charlie Brown Christmas album is beautiful played on here. We’ve all listened to some Garth Brooks albums, some Motown hits, and some Beach Boys, and every genre sounds amazing. A real time traveling experience to my childhood.
There is a mode that allows you to use the great speaker built-in to the Victrola as a Bluetooth speaker to stream music from your phone, but I haven’t tried that. I would imagine the sound would be great as well. I did connect the Victrola to another external speaker, but like I said the speaker in the Victrola is great. I don’t think I will be using the external speaker again.
/// Conclusion ///
There is something nostalgic about playing records. I like that my sons are now getting that same experience I had when I was a kid. I love holding some of my favorite albums or looking at the album art while we listen to it. For anyone looking to get into listening to vinyl this would be a terrific place to start. Setup is simple, sound is rich, and the added features of being able to stream to the built-in speaker or connecting to another external speaker is just bonus. This is an easy recommendation.

The Victrola Eastwood Signature Hybrid Record Player is versatile and user-friendly. It combines classic vinyl with Bluetooth and built-in stereo speakers.
Features
three speeds: 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM, & has clear and crisp sound
Performance
sound quality plays vinyl records beautifully and connects seamlessly to Bluetooth speakers for enhanced volume. The built-in speakers are great for casual listening, though I prefer connecting external speakers for an even richer sound experience.
Simple setup and user-friendly controls.

This isn't your great-grandfather's Victrola, that's for sure. This turntable is enhanced with the 21st Century technology of a 3.5mm earphone jack and Bluetooth. You therefore have four options for listening to output from your records: the built-in speaker, your external amplifier/speakers through an RCA line out, earphones or headphones from the 3.5mm jack, and a Bluetooth speaker, headphones, or earbuds. Furthermore, if you want to stream Bluetooth audio from another device like your phone into the Victrola to one of the other three outputs, that is easily accomplished as well, although I am not sure why you would want to do that.
I have a few small concerns about this turntable, although none of them are deal-breakers. The first is its small size. On the one hand, compact is good, but this turntable is so small that a 33 LP will hang out over the left edge and back. This means that the plastic cover has cutouts on the left, back, and front edges so that it does not come down on top of the LP if you want to put the cover down. If you compare this in the picture to my vintage Pioneer turntable, you'll see that the cover on the Pioneer comes down completely over the record and also protects the turntable from dust when not in use. I also discovered such a small margin of clearance for the back edge of the VTA-73 lid that the lid has to lean slightly forward, or it will hit the record (see other photo). The spring-loaded hinges for the lid maintain that perfect slant, but if you accidentally lift the lid to 90 degrees, the back edge of the lid will hit an LP on the turntable.
Another small concern is that, normally, RCA output from a turntable goes to the phono input of an amplifier, which provides the proper amplification. However, the VTA-73 apparently has a built-in preamp, so you do not want to plug the RCA output into your amplifier's phono input. Instead, run it into an auxiliary jack of your amplifier.
Here is another small oddity. Normally, when you ask for one form of output from a device, it shuts off the others. And this is the case when you plug in earphones or ask for Bluetooth output: this will turn off the built-in speaker. But if you use the RCA output into your amplifier, sound continues to come out of the built-in speaker (naturally, at less fidelity than your external system). I'm not sure why you can't turn off the built-in speaker when you are using external output.
Other than these small concerns, I am satisfied with the performance of this little turntable. The documentation is excellent. It can play 45s with an adapter as well as 33 and 78 records. All of the features work as advertised. It is lightweight and therefore very portable. The Bluetooth functionality is cool. The fidelity isn't quite as good as the turntables I purchased in the 80s and 90s but is acceptable. I can recommend this product.

Victrola’s Eastwood vinyl record player is a blast from the past. When I was much younger and before cassettes and CDs, vinyl and RCA Victrolas ruled. I had quite the collection of LPs and 45s. Jump decades forward, and I still have three boxes of LPs with which I couldn’t part. They have been in “storage” for a long time and, thankfully, are still in exceptionally good condition. Now that vinyl has circled back to the fore, I have been wanting a player for my collection. The Eastwood by Victrola was a desirable choice because it combines past (LP player) and present (Bluetooth) technology.
As a player, the Eastwood provides a very nice listening experience.
Pluses are:
*For a modestly priced player, the stereo sound reproduction is surprisingly good.
*Magnetic Audio Technica cartridge.
*Custom-Tuned speaker enclosure with anti-vibration feature and enhanced bass quality.
*3-speed belt-driven turntable (45 adapter is included)
*Controls are all clearly displayed.
*Bluetooth! Connecting to an external Bluetooth speaker is quick and easy. Instructions for connecting can be found in the manual provided. Disconnecting is also easy once you know how to do it (Not in manual.). Press the BT OUT button, and music returns to the player's speakers. Tip: When pressing the BT OUT button to connect/disconnect, do not hold the button down. That will negate what you are trying to accomplish.
*There is an RCA plug (old tech) in the rear of the player, for connecting with non-Bluetooth speakers.
On the flip side, there is one thing about the player’s design that is a negative. The dust cover (usually a solid plus) can possibly indirectly or directly damage your LPs, if you are not careful with the cover when loading or unloading. Three edges of the LP are exposed when the cover is down. The front and left side (as you face device) are exposed but safe from damage by the cover. The real exposure potential is at the rear. When the cover is open, its rear clearance relative to the LP is minimal. DO NOT lift the cover all the way with an LP loaded, because it can hit the LP portion at the rear position, which could quite possibly damage it. See the attached pic for clearer understanding. When the cover is in closed position, the LP exposure is minimized to that of the other sides.
I really like the Eastwood player and would have loved to give it five stars, but the potential for damage is bothersome. However, because there are enough positives with the Eastwood, I would recommend it, with disclosure, to a friend.

I wanted a backup player for the basement room. Got this stylish player on sale and its awesome. It has a great needle that can be updated easily in the future. The dust cover is a plus and auto stop is a great option for a great price. The added output and bluetooth options are a bonus. Only con is the built in speaker. It sounds better than other competitors but still can produce what external speakers can. But thats not an issue since i can hook up to external speakers. I have told friends to look for the sale if they looking for a record player.

I had bought a 1970 GE Wildcat at an estate sale along with over 200 78’s. I knew I needed to find a record player that could play three speeds. I’m new to collecting vinyl but knew I loved the sound it provides due to growing up with older parents. My Wildcat needs some work and I wanted to hear the sound these records could actually produce. This turntable does just that. The built in speakers are actually decent quality. The bluetooth in and out both work very well. I don’t even need to use a bluetooth speaker. The volume level on this model is just right for my smallish living room. The audio technica cartridge does not disappoint and plays the records very clearly. You still get static from the older records but thats because of the wear on the oldies and makes the sound of vinyl so great. Overall, i am very pleased with this model. Auto stop function is a must and so glad this model has that function.

Great little machine! I love the fact that it has built in speakers...makes it easy to move and play. It's pretty, simple, and clean looking. Decent sound as well. I like the bluetooth feature (one of the reasons I chose this model for my wife's Christmas present). I cannot, however, get the bluetooth to connect to my BOSE sound bar. I assume it's because neither device has any sort of selection or option screen...they are both "bottoms" and there's no "top". Other than that, we love it! Johnny Cash never sounded so good!

Regular price is $150 and I've seen it on sale for as low as $70 during the holidays; I purchased it on sale for $110. I would say at $110 or cheaper it is a worthwhile purchase if you are looking to enjoy some vinyl in a convenient package with acceptable audio quality. For that, it fits the bill.
I initially purchased a different Victrola (the Empire 6-in-1) because my wife wanted to experiment with collecting vinyl and I preferred something utilitarian that could also handle my old CDs and had a radio built-in as well. It was a dud; build quality and aesthetic was decent but it couldn't actually play records worth a lick. So I returned that model and decided to take a chance on this one; it definitely ended up being the right call.
Build quality is decent and overall I appreciate the aesthetic. The built-in speakers give more than adequate sound reproduction: it won't blow you away but is definitely better than most options in this same category/price range. The speakers obviously lack deep bass, but this is a simple compact unit and it delivers decent audio for what it does have; I would say it is similar to a good pair of cheap PC speakers without an independent subwoofer. Utilizing Bluetooth from your phone to play over the speakers is also a nice feature. The sound quality of the record player is absolutely noticeably better than other combo-unit options in this same price range. I am guessing that the sound quality is so much better than other all-in-one options due to the Audio Technica cartridge it uses, but I am not an audiophile and that is just an educated guess.

I bought this as a gift for my dad - he's NEVER been more excited about a gift than for this one. He loves the compactness, easy of set-up, and sound. He's a very tech-savvy guy, but the plug-and-play of this model made it so he didn't have to take much time to set it up and start enjoying his vinyl collection from 50 years ago!

I'm not an audio expert by any means, but I did a bit of research and I'm very happy with this record player. The front speakers are what they are, but I like that it has a bluetooth feature to hook up to better speakers and analog ports to plug directly into better speakers. It works with my Sonos One. Victrola is an excellent brand. It's also esthetically pleasing with its wood pattern that you don't see a lot.

Purchased for my wife for her birthday as she likes to listen to music around the house. We’ve always eyed vinyl records at the store and heard the sound quality is better on vinyl.
Did a little bit of research on the different stylus tips, and what the difference between a record player and turntable was. Settled on the LP as a great mid tier entry level record player. It has great sound quality without breaking the bank unlike many other record players of this sound quality, and the diamond stylus tip won’t ruin any records we may purchase. Also the wooden siding matches our living room furniture. It’s just a win all around, both me and my wife love it.

I am a vintage album collector and owner of my most prized possession pf albums from as far back as the 1960's. I researched products well before making my purchase, based upon my extetnsive and direct turnatable experience, as even opertatiing a night-time rock radio show in 1971-1972. Then I Purchased this unit for my daughter's Christmas and birthday gift. I stopped by her apartment the other day and saw her using it. She loves the turnatable; and it works perfectly well. I am a vintage vinyl collector. This turntable and diamond stylus cartridge will not damage the quality of even the oldest and dearest albums.
