Customers commend the Stream Carbon Turntable for its excellent sound quality and ease of use, with many finding the setup process simple, especially for those already using a Sonos system. The turntable's clean and simple design and seamless Sonos integration are also appreciated. However, some customers have experienced connectivity issues. A few customers also feel the product's cost does not match its value.

Product is poorly designed, not well made and basically overpriced. App is required to set it up and App does not function smoothly and needs to be redesigned. Lacks automatic tonearm feature such as found in $150 AudioTech deck. The cover is awkward and not attached to the base. When finally set up it does work. However--question is for how long. And calling customer service gives you recording that says call back later. You might consider more durable turntable and a seprate preamp.

Seriously Disappointing

I really love my Sonos setup and I'm a child of the 70's & 80's so appreciate the nostalgia of vinyl, even though I'm a very digital-forward audiophile. So I was excited to expand my listening experience by re-introducing vinyl and felt this was the perfect fit for how I like to listen -- app-based, sonos, lossless/uncompressed, etc.
This product really let me down. The only reason I'm not giving this a one-star is its sleek design and appearance. It's very beautiful, and if you like an expensive piece of furniture, that's about all you can expect.
Starting with the app, which is absolute garbage, I couldn't get a decent connection to the device to set it up. I'm a technologist so this was not a user issue. I had to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in to try and "catch" the pairing in the app before the device would simply shut down. I was able to SOMEHOW get it set up, but could never see the turntable again, so whatever settings I gave it initially was what I got. I tried ethernet, wireless and that was it...but it was set up, and did play music so I went through a very detailed setup in Sonos, getting the EQ just right while it was playing, which brings me to the sound quality: it's below average.
Keep in mind, this is on two Sonos Era 300 with a Sonos Sub, and all the tuning in the world couldn't bring life to the sound. It just sounded flat, unclean, and muddled (especially in the mid-range). The highs were a distorted tinny sound and the bass was hard to hear due to a weird consistent hum at above-medium volume (yes, I reset the headshell).
In summary, it was a let down on a Saturday and I'll be returning it (or exchanging for more Sonos gear). I remain unconvinced that vinyl is even viable...no offense to the vinyl fans out there, but I did a side-by-side track-to-track comparison and I can firmly say Digital > Analog, and it's not even close.

In a word, Perfect, this is as simple as sonos, however, it seems to sound even better, I hear more bass in everything and it's so cool to not be restricted of where the turntable is placed, Vinyl lives like new!

GOSH I want this thing to work, but unfortunately I’ve had lots of problems so far. The first one sounded terrible, so I returned it. The second one sounds great… only every time I go back to use it, the Victrola app has completely forgotten what it is, and I have to do a reset and reinstall it. It’s very iirritating. I’m also disappointed nobody seems to be able to help me. I think I need to cut my losses and get a different player, which means purchasing more sonos equipment. Very sad this just isn’t a reliable piece of gear.

For this amount of money- the needle which is a key part of the unit should not be falling out.
