I recently purchased a VHS to DVD converter kit, and let me tell you, it was a total waste of money. First of all, it didn't even come with a serial key to register the software, which is a basic requirement for any software-based product. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to include a serial key in the package? The setup process was confusing. The instructions were unclear and poorly written, making it nearly impossible to figure out how to use the converter properly. Immediately returned it

an ok software based analog video capture system. The software doesn't handle older VHS tapes with a weak signal very well. If you have really old tapes with family video a higher end pro service might be needed. Does some basic dvd menu authoring with importable pictures.

Did not work on my HP laptop, the computer did not recognize the device, even after repeatedly installing the driver, however the device did work for my Dell desktop. The device works the same as if you were to record a show off of your tv with a VCR. You will need to sit there and watch the video to know when to cut off the recording.

The VHS to DVD 9.0 Software works somewhat. I had a few tapes to transfer. The software worked well for two tapes, but the third would not transfer as the video was not clear in the preview window.

I was really looking forward to using this product to convert old VHS home movies to digital format(s). First, out of the box they provided the wrong software - the CD included was the wrong product. Then you learn that there is no phone support (which was a big selling point) because "they are moving offices". Eventually I was able to download the correct software and start. Then you come to appreciate that while the user manual may look comprehensive at first glance (it is 119 pages) it is not really. For example they expect you to know way more about all the output options than anyone who is not a video professional is likely to know. So plan to spend a lot of time on the internet doing research. Add to that the product doesn't act like they say it should about half the time. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't appear to do anything despite your telling it to, for example, burn. I do not recommend you waste your time.

I ordered this as well as a no-name RCA-to-USB device off of Amazon (as a backup) to convert several old home movie VHS tapes to digital (probably not going to burn to DVD). The software and drivers for the adapter installed okay but the quality of the video file produced by the included software was poor. Thinking it may be a driver or software issue, I updated both from the manufacturer's website. I was still unimpressed with the results. I also switched to a different RCA cable pair and tried S-Video as an alternative. Still poor quality at best. I also tried on three different computers, one being a Ryzen 7 1700X and the others being older Core i7 systems (all running Windows 10 64-bit). I attempted to use OBS (Open Broadcast Studio) instead of the included software and the results were not any better. The no-name device I purchased on Amazon works better. My suggestion would be to avoid this solution and look elsewhere. I cannot recommend this.

Good software to convert VHS to DVD. A little quirky with a few things. I reached out to their support group and they were excellent at helping make the right changes with my computer. Works well now.

I just spent about 2 weeks during the pandemic putting all my 8mm videos on DVDs. The quality is quite iffy, but the analog 8mm do not play well in digital. I did it mostly to preserve the videos and have a means to play them.

Product is not working up to expectations. So far have not been able to burn an edited version of a video. Of course no instructions came with product. Had to go to website and print out numerous pages of instructions. Perhaps one day I will figure it out. But until then it dosen't work as expected.
