Outstanding Solution to VHS to DVD

As I mentioned in a review of a similar Roxio product, I was interested in downloading a number of VHS video tapes to DVD. Many great movies and shows on the tapes I had, but no reason to keep the bulky tapes around if they could be copied to DVD, which would also allowed them to be played on my current family video system. I initially bought the Roxio product to do this, largely because I had used one of their products in the past to copy cassette tapes to CD, but it simply did not work. It would copy to the computer, but every attempt to burn to a DVD- or +R disc failed. Other reviewers mentioned similar problems. This was not a tape copyright or computer problem, but appeared to be a problem with the Roxio software. And, I could never get through to the Roxio help line for an assist. So, I bought the Vidbox product and it worked perfectly! A little graininess on the copies, but that improved with a change to some better cables I had around the house. Some of the signal noise was likely due to the age of both the VCR deck I was using as well as the age of the VHS tapes, that was to be expected. I will be using the Vidbox software to see if I can further clean up the signal as I download and burn additional tape in the near future. I highly recommend Vidbox VHS to DVD 9.0.

Bought this as an update/upgrade from the Version 8. I've used the V8 for years and was more than pleased with it. It works great for recording from the TV or VHS tapes and converting them to digital format. Simple to use. It also has other features and tasks it can accomplish. I would recommend this.

    Convert videos to DVD

I have over 20 miniDV tapes from an old camcorder with all the video of my kids growing up. This software and cable allowed me to convert it to DVD. Reasonably easy to use, the software has some capabilities that I didn't use (title screens, etc.). I just started the convert wizard and let them copy. Worked well, each tape took the full hour to play through, and then about 15 minutes to burn to DVD.

Easy to install and setup. Would recommend, there seems to be a pause occasionly when writing to disk, which it has a buffering feature. Overall quality good considering my older vhs player and tapes that are around 20 years old..

    Good product for digitizing VHS

Took a long time but it was simple to do - Could not reproduce the digital copies tho once you made them. Had to make all copies you needed when running the VHS tape or you had to run it all over again for 2 hours. The family VHS tapes and memories were digitized as a reasonable price right in my living room. Would make the purchase all over again. I converted over 30 VHS tapes to DVD..

This device dos exactly what it says and does it very well. I could have paid someone to copy all our VHS tapes to DVD. With this, I was able to get them in very good quality on my computer without any issues. I'll be able to edit them now (clipping and merging) sections to create special memories for family members. Well worth the cost.

Slight learning curve: 1) don't use the program disk in the box, download the program from the web as it has updated drivers; 2) don't try save the files on a server, let the program save it on the computer C drive and move them later; and 3) don't try to multitask on your computer while this program is running, an error will result. All of the above produced the Windows "blue screen" with "kmode" errors. Once you get beyond them the program works well.

I copied a vhs tape to a dvd and could not view the video. I then copied the tape to my laptop, then burned it to a dvd and was able to view it. I sent it to someone to see if they could view it, but they couldn't. believe it has to do with a missing codec. It's a good product and I'm still trying to figure out a few things with it.

This is very simple to use. It has an advanced mode with menus, etc. but I prefer the Easy method. I have so far copied over 40 old VHS family movies and plan to do them all and copy to portable hard drives for the kids. Easy to use and results are good.

That one is able to transfer a vhs, Hi8, etc video (if you still have the video camera) at exactly the same quality as your original video is, to your computer and then process the MPEG file wit any video editing software and burn your video to a regular DVD or, better yet, to a BLU-RAY AT A 16:9 ratio and see your memories so clear!! Is short of amazing. Having your memories sent to companies (through SAMS OR COSTCO, OTHERS) that dump/copy the content of yourvhs or hi8 tape to a DVD’s ok but does not even begin to approach what you can do with this item!

Skeptical before purchase . Happy I bought a ext Hard drive With it . As for the product investing my money and time into vhs to DVD iI am glad I bought it . Disc loads up and explains how to use its software a little old 2016. But so are we. Saved memory’s . It’s worth it .

I have a VHS of movies that were originally on Super 8 reels. Obviously, I was concerned about the quality of the movies on the VHS possibly looking any good on DVD. After some time figuring out how to first capture into my computer, then to burn the images onto a DVD, it worked even better than I expected. Now I have a more reliable way of sharing family films with other family members.
