Does exactly what it said it does! Life saver… I was able to transfer all of my old videos to digital files easily…

I purchased the Vidbox for my Mac. The software was very easy to install and use. I was able to copy 30 year old home videos to my hard drive and the quality was good. There is windows software also included in the box which I haven’t used.

Love this product. We bought it to convert some old tapes. It's been wonderful to relive through childhood memories.

Needed a conversion device to enable VHS to digital to complete a project. This device performed extremely well from the start. I also use it to record cassette tape music into digital for CDs. The device also takes my video camera inputs very accurately and enables me to make DVDs.

1st you must have a good VHS player. 2nd the tapes must be in great condition. its really easy to install and follow thru. and if not, just go with it, and common sense should follow. organizing your files is a must. it helps to know where storing your files. i'm so happy i got this. I'm seeing tapes from far as 1994.

Needed this to convert some home videos. Cheaper products I tried produced poor picture results. This one did well with no voice-sync issues.

Works well. Just very time consuming. You have to play and thus record at play speed. If you have a working hi 8 or vhs etc. you will enjoy the finished product. Using an editing program on pc to customize video before burning. Think movie maker.

So glad that I could use something that helps me digitally save old family movies. My daughter is almost 21 and being able to save videos from when she was a kid is always amazing for a parent.

I bought one for myself to digitize my home movies. I loved it so much, I bought a second one for my aunt and uncle to digitize their's.

This device enabled me to connect my old Sony video cam via RGB cables and then connect the device to my PC via USB. I was then able to import my old HI8 tapes to my computer for further processing. I did have some problems with setup but support agents were very helpful and got me up and running.

Honestly, I was skeptical when I first bought this - but the simplicity of the design and implementation was so helpful. Only downside is that there isn't the ability to tweak any capture settings (like deinterlace).

I had purchased a name brand unit and could not get it to work. The support was inadequate. I purchased this and simple directions and I am saving all my home vhs to dvd.

Better than some other software. For some reason I have to unplug and plug back in the device every time I use it so it will read, but it works better than the device/software I had before that I had to return. Also, the preview screen size is really small for some stupid reason. You'd think they'd be able to make it so you could enlarge it. As for those of you who complain about having to let the video play through all the way. What did you expect!? It's old media. There's literally no way you could make it so you could transfer it like a normal digital transfer. So if that's your complaint, you're an idiot.

I used this connected to an old video camera and an old VCR to download ALL my home videos on to my computer, you tube and memory sticks. Yes it took a couple of months however the Vidbox did a fantastic job and was easy to use.

Digitizing 250+ VHS tapes. Very easy to set up and use. Not optimized for Mac OS 10.13, causes occasional system crashes. Occasional video and audio freezes while copying. System crashes minimized by exiting the program after each tape has been copied and restarting for the next copy.

I needed to transfer some cassette VCHC. It worked perfect. They were from the 90’s. They saved the memories for our family.

Easy to use and great for converting old vhs to digital files

My son used this to convert old VHS tapes to digital. It was easy (for him) to use & we now have those memories preserved or a tiny scan disk!

The software is buggy and very old. I could not save my edits and was forced to buy other software to edit the converted video. Of course, I was not able to return this software, since Best Buy will not accept software returns. I am VERY disappointed. I was able to convert my vhs video to digital, so I gave it 2 stars, but DO NOT waste your time editing in this software.

This was a good product that does what it says, unfortunately it did not do well on mini tapes that are deteriorating as there were many tracking problems. I'm not sure if there is a better product that would do this but it left my project unfinished .
