I chose this monitor because it has adjustable height, tilt, and side to side motion, and integrated speakers. I prefer the squarish format rather that the wide angle panorama style. It worked fine right out of the box. My only gripe is with the set up instructions that have sketches and arrows instead of descriptions. Even the manual on the website I found less than helpful for clear information.

I needed a second monitor that rotates 90 degrees for portrait views of legal size & letter size docs, as well as copy paste of text between monitors. i had it turned 90 deg in my initial set up, it worked correctly immediately. really a plug & play setup. I am using it with windows 8.1, I did not need to download any software. I had previously returned a USB monitor that was incompatible with 8.1. also it has good resolution of aerial maps & photo's. The 5:4 ratio monitor is not really meant for movies, but I did not purchase it for that.

This monitor works very well with my laptop that has a shattered screen. The only issue that I have is that the sound is very low. I actually bought two of them, one for personal use and one for teleworking.

If you want more space on your desk, I would suggest this monitor. The wide monitors took up too much space. I went from a 27 inch wide monitor to this one and I love it. The stand is awesome. You can raise it and you can tilt it.

Extremely dissatisfied! I purchased this specifically because it had built-in speakers. Well you can barely even hear the sound on max. I contacted ViewSonic and they replied "We apologize for any inconvenience, due to ViewSonic making the units slimer with smaller bezels, we had to compromise by adjusting the speaker size as there is not enough space. As well the rear firing speakers also causes the sound to not be as loud.". What is the use of having speakers if you can't actually hear them?

This is a great monitor for the price. Very versatile and affordable. Would definitely buy again!

Both monitors are great. The screen is easy to read.

For our limited space on the desk this monitor works very well.
