It's decent, but still protection at least.

Went in to buy a nice alarm for my vehicle. I decided on this one, because the features seemed nice. Now that I have had it installed, it really is no different from the cheaper models for the most part. The distance is no where near as advertised, unless I was maybe in the middle of nowhere with nothing but flat land, even then, I have my doubts. I have had instances where I can be right next to my car, push the arm button, and it beep my remote saying there was an error. I had it switched to auto-arm now since I felt I could not depend on it to set correctly at all times. It is supposed to have up to 2 miles of communication, yet when I park in my parking structure at work, I can be 100 feet away, and it wont make connection.

    Awesome Security System

This system is great on my car. I didn't have key-less entry to begin with, so this purchase was worth it just for that almost. I am planning on having my car at school so I wanted the extra assurance that it was still okay. The ability for the remote to tell you if someone broke into your car and if the doors are locked is great! The range is well over 1000 ft in open land. However, there are a few minor things that annoyed me. I was going to bring my car back to Best Buy because I was having problems with the car thinking that the trunk was popped when disarming or that the shock sensor had been set off. Luckily these problems fixed themselves randomly, but it was still worrying. Another problem is that I've had is that sometimes when trying to arm/disarm the system, I press the button and it says that the car is out of range. Even though I am standing right next to it. But I know the range is good, because it normally works fine. The only other thing that I don't like is that the siren isn't very loud. If you're right next to it, it is ear-piercing, but if you're inside a house with the car parked at the end of the drive, then it isn't very noticeable. The main point of the alarm is to scare off the thief though so it will definitely do that.

After buying a truck with a chip display that doesn't come down from the dash,& installing a new radio, etc, I wanted to up the protection on it. So I got this, I like the key fob that alerts you if any sensor goes off,& where on the truck it happened, which I learned after a very large cat jumped on the roof & set it off, lol. The only issue I've had is about 4 days after it was installed(which was done by the store) I went into a store, came back out,& my doors wouldn't unlock, it said they were unlocked & it beeped & all that, but nothing happened. I locked & unlocked it a few times to see if it would catch, but still nothing. I ended up having to use my door key to get in(which set the alarm off, so embarrassing! Lol) cause the alarm system doesn't recognize the door key or factory alarm. Thankfully after putting key in ignition, alarm shut off. It never happened again,& the guy at the installation department said occasionally there can be interference that can cause it to not work quite right. I do wish I'd have gone with the next step up that had the auto start option, but too late now :)

Very satisfied with this alarm system, I did a lot of research and decided on the Viper systems. Only a couple of hundred dollars gives me great protection over the entire car, windows up or down, and also the trunk area. This model has fewer options/functions since I have an older Honda with a manual transmission, all other models offer some pretty awesome features. I will definitely use this brand for my newer cars.

My car was broken in to so I picked up the Viper. If anything it may be a little too sensitive (it's a good thing) serious thunder can set it off. The range is amazing. The fob works even with commercial ovens and freezers (and cinder block) between it and the alarm

I purchased this alarm as a replacement for the garbage system that was in already. I really upgraded the stereo with a Nakamichi CD-400 and Focal top of the line Speakers with Phoenix Gold Titanium amps so I really need supreme protection. I did a lot of research and chose the Viper 2 channel for my needs. This system has all the bells and whistles and I love the remote control that shows you on the screen if your door is ajar on just not locked. I love them fact that it will work up to 1500 feet and chirp you if someone is messing with the truck. In the end spend some extra cash because being cheap will cost you. For what I paid it also included installation and a clean installation.

Great product, price but having installation at best but requires too much of a hassle through their staff. Regardless of their incompetence the product itself is great.

I had the system installed at best buy and i was satisfied from day one. the system was great, the alarm was annoying which is what i wanted, and the 2 way remote is such a great addition to the remote. with fully adjustable sensor sensitivity you can't go wrong with this alarm. I suggest you double this up with the Proximity sensor which i use and its AMAZING. if anyone takes a single step in my vehicles direction it sends warning chirps and then goes off if they remain in the area. coming from a guy who had a break in AND had his rims and wheels stolen, I am telling you this has given me the ability to sleep at night and wake up as soon as anyone goes near my car after hours.

Good system but does not support remote start. If you’re like me and looking for that feature as well, go with the DS4. If an auto tech tells you it will work with remote start like I was told, don’t believe it. I unfortunately spent money on this and the installation of it only to have to pay to have it ripped out and replaced with a new system that I’ll also have to pay for if I really want remote start. Outside of that, it’s pretty good of an alarm

It is a pretty good alarm system for your car however the range of the car and the keyless entry is not that great. The car alarm is really sensitive and can go off a lot. There are other features that come with the system however, it can be a little complicated to understand.

I began researching aftermarket car alarms, due to an increase of car break-ins in my area. I came upon the Viper series of car alarms and have been aware of the name for many years. For me, I believe security relies heavily on deterrence and the name was definitely appealing considering my previous knowledge of Viper. I had the car alarm professional installed by a Best Buy Car/Audio Technician. I love the ability to add other features; such as remote car starter and also the ability to increase the sensitivity of the shock sensor. I have had the alarm or about a month and have not had any issues, so far. I also appreciate the feature that allows me to see whether the car had been disturbed while I was away and the ability to be notified via remote of an intrusions, as long as I am 1/2 mile from my vehicle.

6 out of 7 of my cars have these product installed. It might be a little bit expensive but it is worse if a thief steal your vehicle. So, it is a good investment and if something goes wrong with it the guys at Best buy are always there to help you out. Now, keep a copy of the installation in a safe so you get no problem with Best buy. I have installed an alarm in 2004 in Arkansas, then shipped the vehicle to Puerto Rico and the guys in BestBuy did not wanted it to help me out. I even showed them the Best buy receipt and the replacement product. Buy anyway that was an audio vox alarm. The other good reason for this is that there is a sensor that works if someone break a window. I had a bad experience where the thief broke the window and was doing his business then I showed up... Anyway thief nowadays check for that first and if the vehicle make no noise then they go ahead break a window, jump in and conduct their business to steal radios.... So, yes this product has it all for your peace of mine, is like having a security man always by your vehicle.

If you catch this on sale then you would probably would want to get it. It doubles as a remote start great for winters and also a car alarm. Only one issue and its a big one. Too take advantage of the free install which is recommended you will have to schedule at another BestBuy out of town because our local one does not have any techs currently doing any mobile installs.

This item is just what I was looking for and I couldn't find it on Amazon, so this was my next stop after some searching. The price included install, and two fobs, which was great because I have a spare for my car that now has the fob with it in case I lock my keys in the car, etc. I've always used Viper car alarm systems and I swear by them.

I had a great installer at BestBuy install my car alarm and I am happy with the result overall. It did take longer than I expected but, he did a great job overall and that is what mattered to me overall. Just glad I went over to the Red Rock Casino across the street to spend time and get great food also. The installer was very professional and explained everything having to do with the remotes with my Viper 350 2 way security system. This is a great alarm system as you will notice what it does online as it keeps the infiltrators out of your vehicle or even bothering it Great shock sensor by the way on this alarm. The only unfortunate thing is, it does sound like (when you are beeped by an infiltrator) a telephone in the background of a show you may be watching sounds about the same. Get to know when your pager is going off. Test it if you have to. Make sure your stuff is safe! THis is a great alarm for anyone!! Have a great day.

Ended up going on a different set up to be able to use the original dealer fob. Viper is a good brand but there's no real difference between this model and the cheaper one. You're pretty much paying for the 2 way pager one this one. Range is pretty much the same along with security.
